If you keep refreshing it add another product to the basic...I'm wondering if you've got all the stock of 32gb's in your basket!!

Lol, that would just be one 32GB though!!

I reserved the 16gb yesterday, saw the price drop on there website and trotted down to the local store brought it to the checkout and tried to charge me £345 in which i explained that if they looked on there own website the price has been reduced after 10 minute discussion the manager would not honour the reduced price as he said it was a computer glitch .

I then asked if i paid the full price and it was found that there was no glitch would he refund me the difference and sid no.

My son went into PC World at T/Wwells at 11am and used my reservation from Sunday and bagged himself the one for £89 even though they would not price reduce for me yesterday evening.
  • Insight just said they have sold all touchys via phone.. so website 700 in stock.. goes down.. back up and they are all gone boo hoo

    How do you know that?

I have both the 16 and 32 GB sitting in my basket and keep refreshing on the hope it comes down but to no avail (also shows as both instock at the moment for me) Not sure whether therefore just to give up with play?
They've been telling people on the phone. Might be wrong, but they've always been a bit funny with the refund. They started by saying they wouldn't drop the price because of how they get their stock.

Again, worth taking with a pinch of salt.

I posted this earlier in the thread, but it could have possibly been snatched up by the staff.

I went into my local comet yesterday (they were all hovering excitedly over a computer.) When they eventually noticed me i was told that there was none in stock. Then the sales assistant admitted that there were 2 in stock, but the staff will get their hands on them first. Well, at least he was honest...

I posted up about Currys yesterday evening. The staff in these shops are basically robbing customers, cancelling orders then re-booking for themselves.

Tbh I wouldnt expect anything less from Comet/Currys/PC World, i tend to buy independantly and steer well clear, but sadly i succombed to the cheap offer of these Touchpads. Unless an offer comes along like this ever again I will be steering well clear of these shoddy shops which offer no customer experience or knowledge of the products they actually sell.

If you can get one from these retailers go for it, but I would strongly advise that you never shop in these places when after a "normal" purchase.

1459 Update : The only places where you can actually buy a 16GB Touchpad are prepaymania for £407, Amazon for £411.68, Argos for £350, OnestopPCshop for £372, Play and Misco for £349. Cheapest BIN on Ebay is currently £180; insight, which was the latest site to be selling cheap TouchPad, is down. Next update will be at 4PM. Am under the impression that some retailers are removing the Touchpad from their database to prevent incoming traffic from DDOsing their websites.

  • agree re currys etc - I reserved 2 and they called me to say these products were being recalled so they had to cancel.

I called them today and they said something completely different but too late anyway.

Can't blame the staff for wanting a bargain - we would all do that - but not if it means cancelling customer reservations - that's completely out of order.

I won't be buying from Currys again - not that I did much anyway as stuff is always cheaper elsewhere.

Look up "thekanand" on Twitter. He seems to be getting some information on this.

According to him the Pre 3 will be £120 and include the touchstone charger and possibly a bluetooth headset.
