Here's an interesting email just received.....Thank you for your recent enquiry on argos.co.uk
You recently enquired about a HP TouchPad WiFi - 32GB., Cat No. 508/6050, on
the Argos web site, which was out of stock.
We have just received further stock of this item.
If you would still like to order, please click on the link below as soon as
possible as stock may be extremely limited on some products and we cannot
guarantee availability.0 -

I got the same mail and the result was
Sorry! We've had a problem with the link you've just selected.
If they did have stock the warehouse staff probably got them all."The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

they fobbed me off with some excuse about it being a bundle now. i spoke to a supervisor and pointed out if i had ordered the touchpad, case and charger in the bundle 2 weeks ago it would still have only been £204.99 but they wouldn't price match it.
i've sent an email to the CEO but doubt it will do any good.
forgot to update this:
i had an email from the "executive customer service" department saying it would be looked into and two days later a guy rang up to speak to me about it.
he was very apologetic and agreed that they could have handled things better and offered some of the stock to the people who had previously ordered.
he said as it was in a bundle they couldn't offer me just the touchpad at the original price of £115, but he could offer a 20% discount on the bundle, taking it down to £200 which is what i would've paid originally if i'd bought the touchpad, case and charger separately.
he gave me his direct email and said i could think about it but to let him know as quickly as possible as there were very few of the bundles left.
i emailed him within an hour and he was straight back to me saying that unfortunately it had now sold out (again!) but as a gesture of goodwill they would give me £50 to make up for the saving i had lost! this was completely unprompted by me.
anyway the next day a someone rang up from the finance department to take my bank details to arrange my "refund".
i'm very happy with how PC World dealt with this in the end, and it does show that it's worth pursuing things when you are in the right.0 -
I ordered some accessories for the touchpad from staples in august, but like some other posters, all I received was a catalogue!
Well today, on checking my statement, I notice that they still took the money for my order.
I've phoned them and they promise to refund it asap - so, if you had an order cancelled, make sure they've refunded the money.0 -
Just managed to get a 16gb HP Touchpad and having a bit play about with it.
What can you do with it apart from going onto the internet?
Dare not use it for internet banking as it has no anti virus software on it and so the banks do not protect you if things go wrong.
Where are the office programmes mainly for word processing.
Is it just some type of games machine or what.
