LOL
They will probably respond to you, agreeing you could have one at the £89 or £115 price, just after they have sold out of the last UK stock!
LOL - call me cynic!0 -
if I Hadn't got mine for £109 I'd still be tempted to get one for 200 with the dock etc.
the girlfriend uses the iPad and I use this and now prefer the touchpad. Only thing I miss is splashtop remote desktop.
check out the n64 emu I've been playing Mario 64 and it runs really well on the update that came out today0 -
Get with the program and stop making excuses for unscrupulous retailers/ebayers who are out to rip off UK consumers. We're trying to save money for consumers here - not line the pockets of greedy retailers (the clue is in the MSE website name).
I think you'll find that the DSGi "bundles" (e.g. the 16GB "deal" for £199, which was available very briefly on Friday) incorporated significant markups for the retailers as prowla pointed out quite eloquently above.
Anyone who is capable of basic arithmetic could work this out for themselves (or see my post above, if you're having difficulty, where I've already worked it out for you).
You conveniently seemed to forget to mention the 32GB TouchPad "bundle" rip-off where DSGi priced the 32GB TouchPad at £197.50 (up from the original firesale price of £115).
Since when did an £82.50 markup/increase = "a £250+ discount"? Epic maths fail.Duh.
See my comments above about BestBuy and CPW who have stated (unlike PCWorld, Currys and Dixons) that they will honour the original firesale prices when they get new stock in. If they do that it will show that some UK retailers do actually have a degree of integrity.
Back on topic: if any people (who actually want to save money and avoid getting ripped off) have any news on the reported incoming TouchPad stock at Argos and CPW, please let us know here.
If you are having trouble working out why I said £250 discount... let me break it down. It was based on the ORIGINAL 32GB price.
I would like to see evidence that CPW and BestBuy UK are getting stock and are selling at the £89/115 price.
The simple fact is we have had no evidence that HP have not set the bundles themselves. To further that the cheapest place on the 32GB Touchpad at the moment is the £249 'COMET/PCW/DIXONS. I am not counting out of stock listings as they are not currently selling at that price & no concrete confirmation of further stock.0 -
But the ORIGINAL price is invalid - HP changed the rrp to be £89 and £115.
So £249 is not a discount at all.0 -

and we go back my my question for the 6th time...
How do we know HP did not make another price change?
I keep asking this but everyone seems to ignore it and just pick on the £250 is to much...0 -

I think its fair to think they haven't given this...
www 8.hp.com/uk/en/products/tablets/index.html - NOT SPAM!
I think £250 was a good deal and bought it.
Anybody had it dispatched ? All I have had is a notification that it was being "prepared" for dispatched....0 -

HP announced the £89 and £115 price, but there is no announcement of a revised price (and their site, referenced above, shows those prices).
Also, DSG were offering the units at £599 (I don't remember the exact number!) standalone, and £249 with the bundled accessories, which is more than the original selling price.
So in essence, if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then...0 -

HP's UK store still appears to have TouchStone Charging Docks for the TouchPad in stock for £34.50 (free P+P): http://h41112.www4.hp.com/promo/webos/uk/en/tablet/touchpad-accessories.html (this links straight to the TouchPad case, just click on the TouchStone image under "Accessories" to see the Charging Dock details).
Alternatively, CarphoneWarehouse were selling TouchStone Chargers for the TouchPad at half price a week or so ago (£35) and might be getting more in-store this week - it might be worthwhile phoning round your local branches:

Hope this helps.
There is also a code flying around that gives 10% off on the HP Website.

Here's a quick update on TouchPad availability for anyone still searching for one at the recent firesale prices.
No new stock has been added to the main retailers' websites this morning - but sources suggest CarphoneWarehouse and Argos might have received new stock in their warehouses over the weekend which is now awaiting distribution. And these might only be available for purchase in-store over the next few days.
As ever, US consumers seem to be getting a better deal than their UK counterparts: on Friday QVC were selling a bundle (TouchPad, case, docking station) for $199.95 (plus $13.97 shipping and handling).
Not too dissimilar to the UK deals from PC World, Currys and Dixons last week, you might think. Until you realise that the deal equates to £135 all in.
Oh... and the TouchPad was the 32GB version.
The DSGi stores were selling the equivalent package for £249. Only a £114 markup on each "deal". What a bargain.
