HP TouchPad

I wouldn't have thought it was being unreasonable if they had taken the order (and the money) and then cancelled the order on the basis of no stock, to expect them to give you some consideration when it now comes back in stock only weeks later.
Yes they are selling a bundle but that is to hide the fact that they have significantly increased the price (was the £1000 touchpad yesterday set up to direct you to the bundle deal? It was available not in a bundle though).
That said, perhaps the price they are being charged has now significantly risen (or they are simply taking advantage of the feeding frenzy and don't see why they should sell for £89/£115 when many people and some retailers are then selling for £200/£250+)

Your argument assumes that Dixons/Comet/PCWorld set the price and not HP. What you are seeing now is HP still getting rid of their stock, just not at as severe loss as before.
I don't see the problem. Everyone is complaining about this bundle but lets remember a month ago this would of cost you £560+0 -
It seems that the TouchPad bundle "deals" offered by PCWorld, Dixons and Currys yesterday were as follows:
16GB TouchPad, TouchStone Charger and Case for £199
32GB TouchPad, TouchStone Charger and Case for £249
Taking into account the fact that most major retailers (e.g. CPW, Argos, HP's own website) last week were selling the Charger half price for £34.50 and the Case for £19.50 (P & P free) - this means that you would be paying £145 for the 16GB and £195 for the 32GB.
That's a long way off the original UK fire sale prices of £89 and £115 respectively.
It's good to see these major UK retailers continuing to try and fleece the consumer at every opportunity.
Latest News: There are unconfirmed reports that CarphoneWarehouse will be offering more TouchPads next week (but tied into 24-month contracts) - with one or two possibly being available to purchase in-store.0 -
I was in HMV earlier and they have new stands for tablets mp3 players etc, and on the Tablet stand among the ipads etc etc was a space for the HP Touchpad....coming soon...?!?0

I doubt it - it was going to be their new range but likely HP won't be available (some stores already have tablets but didn't get HP).

A good reduction, it was £1000 last night.
They are pushing people towards the £249 deal.

OK, so yet again I ask the question WHY DO YOU THINK ITS UK RETAILERS RAISING THE PRICE?! Could it not simply be a change of HP policy as everyone seems to be going with the £249 deal?
IF you think your being fleeced by the new £249 price you need to seriously look at what your getting for the money... its an amazing deal.0 -

Everyone who please? Dixons/PCWorld/Currys are the same company - is someone else stocking this deal now? It is good deal compared to the original RRP, but not as good a deal as the reduced RRP (doesn't seem to come up on PCWorld site when you search but does when you follow the link above).
Many thanks

and how do we know £249 is not the new RRP?
people on this forum seem to be adding 2+2 and getting 6. We have no information as to why the prices have been changed other than it seems the £1000 for the tablet itself obviously in an attempt to shift accessory bundles.0 -
wheres best place to get the half price charger please0
