There are so many bitter people on this thread taking out their frustration on the retailers. These were exceptional circumstances and to improve systems to deal with these exceptional circumstances would cost a lot of money. These costs would inevitably be passed onto the consumer, so just because you missed out on a cheap TouchPad (as did I) we should all needlessly pay the price.
If you were so desperate to get a TouchPad then maybe you would have paid full price or bought one off Ebay. I know I wasn't that bothered hence I'm quite happy with my PC and Android phone.
Suck it up and realise the world doesn't revolve around your whim to buy a luxury item you'd probably rarely use.0 -

I also note that some companies that used to sell it have now announced that they won't be stocking it anymore
100%. CONFIRMED directly from HP

Mine's overclocked (Preware, Govnah and UberKernel, check PreCentral for instructions, 1.5Ghz instead of 1.2) and Android won't be installed on it. Android can't multitask properly in my opinion (I've got an HTC Sensation) as it decides what apps to close instead of me. webOS is WAY ahead of other OSs for multitasking IMO.0

Thanks Dafty Duck. They're also on Currys and PC World.
£200 for 16GB and £250 for 32GB, both coming with wireless charger dock (was £75) and case (was £40) so these packages seem worthwhile...0 -
HP have 6000 Touchpads which they're offering to UK staff on a first come -first served basis next week. Max of one per employee - £69 for 16gb and £109 for 32gb.0
