Touchpads available on ebay through a seller who has 'loads' of them, making money from all the craziness. I don't agree with what they are doing but if someone wants one desperatly look at this article. I wouldn't personally coz I don't like what this a$$ is doing but others may not care.

@Zelazny Did you manage to find a touchpad perchance?

I managed to grab a 16gb one instore at carphone warehouse earlier in the week, but now my brother, brother in law and wife all want them as well - I fear they are out of luck.

I did have three on order from the HP EPP store (which I do have legitimate access to through work) but they told me today that there was not enough stock so the order was cancelled.

I have to say, it's a nice bit of kit. Turning off all the logging (see http://www.zdnet.com/blog/mobile-news/how-to-improve-the-performance-of-your-new-hp-touchpad/3866) makes it more responsive and faster, and I have no real complaints. It'd be nice to have more apps available, but the main use for me will be web browsing and watching iplayer or youtube - for which it's ideal. I can even use ffmpeg to change my video files on my main computer into mp4s and watch on the Touchpad in bed.

My brother in law has been a massive help to the wife and I, particularly when we moved house (a couple of months ago) so I was quite looking forward to being able to give him a Touchpad. My brother is minted, I'd have charged him £89 :p
• If anyone has placed an order through Play.com and paid full price for the Touchpad - you need to send an email complaint request they offer to refund the difference in price to:
john.perkins@play.com
also need to cc. the email to:
customercare@play.com

As you should be aware, you're not guaranteed to be entitled to a refund, but the more complaints they receive, may affect their decision to offer the rebates or not.

Really Misco? That's terrible. I guess it would be easier for a company to get hold of large stocks rather than an individual. There's unprecedented demand for it, guess that will make some take advantage & make a fast buck.

Wonder if HP are kicking themselves now. They could have charged a higher rate so at least they broke even. Wonder if someone at the top is in trouble. The whole abandonment was very quick.

Could always try ebay... :rotfl:

I'm looking for one. My mate has the iPad which I am not a fan of... and I want to get this so I can run Android on it - whenever that will be... and also of course to have something portable.
