HP TouchPad

Yes, they may fold and offer discounts for goodwill reasons, but if you don't want to buy an item at the price on the invoice then don't buy it.[/QUOTE]
Still worth the punt then by anyone's reckoning. Considering Tesco was the only place available to get a Touchpad on monday that didn't require wearing out your F5 key not to mention your patience.
I am not expecting or demanding a reduction, but I am hoping for one.0 -
Tesco are now out of stock on 16gb at least at almost full price, they had them in stock earlier today0

you have already asked that question on the previous page, a shop/website will sell them i guess, maybe give google a try0 -
Update from dabs.com on facebook, in case anyone got one:
I am very sorry for the delay in dealing with HP TouchPad queries. We have been working hard to fulfil as many orders as possible due to the unprecedented demand. We have had to reduce all HP tablet orders to 1 per customer.Sorry to all affected, but this is fairer and has allowed us to fulfil more orders. Everybody should now have received an email update.
Don't know why I'm still liking them, seeing as I didn't get one myself anyway...If it rains, it rains.
We'll be in the street, looking thunder in the face,
Singing la la la la la,
I wont change0 -

Argos' stock ALL reserved at full price on Monday (I'm sure many of us found that out on our own). The point being all the customers who have had a tablet from Argos via an early-week reservation have done EXACTLY the same thing as those who are waiting on a Tesco decision. The only difference is Argos took the plunge straight away and okay'd the refunds and reductions.
.
Actually Argos did not refund the difference right away & some people are having a problem getting their money off them. If bought in store it is up to the manager.
Maybe a separate Tesco thread is a good idea as already suggested. It's been going on for 24 hours now on here. Leave the thread for those who wish to find a TP at discounted price already if more come into stock.0 -

We appear to be of the same mindset and had the same though on Monday night.
I too am not demanding anything. Just looking at things logically. If everyone waited for the price drop and didn't order 'early' then Tesco would have dropped the price as they ran out of stock on Monday night but say they were only notified by HP on Tuesday.
If we all waited for the price drop then I would have surely missed out like I did with the other retailers. Didn't want to leave it to luck of the draw and the strength of Tesco's web infrastructure.
If my 'crime' is being pre-emptive then I am guilty. I do not have the time or patience to refresh 10-20 online shops all day for 2 days.
At the end of the day if Tesco refund the difference they would have gotten rid of a discontinued product and all will be happy.
Awaiting news from Facebook. Don't make me break out the BBCWatchdog hashtag:D
Edit: Oops I started again - sorry Seequis and Martin451 - Can someone create a new thread?Spend now, Save Later!!!! :beer:0 -
I got an automated voicemail from Argos last night saying that they would refund the money difference into my account within 7 days, and I have an email also confirming the above.:T0

If Tesco really wanted to develop goodwill, they'd let people who wanted a touchpad put their name forward, and absolutely refuse to part-refund those that have already been purchased. Any that get returned would be offered at a reduced price to someone selected at random from those who put their name down - then everyone would have a chance.
To prevent unfairness, only permit one entry per address and only allow one "win" per address.0 -
@Zelazny Did you manage to find a touchpad perchance?0
