The HP page that article suggests you keep an eye on appears to be aimed at a US audience so I'm not sure how relevant it'll be here.

Probably not at all, especially as the Euro store has been saying since well before that article that the next update will be Friday 10am.

If anyone wants a bargain, someone is trying to flog a 32gb Argos purchased touchpad (from yesterday) for £999 on eBay....
  • Just received update from Expansys - still holding out (slim) hope after Amazon letdown...

    Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your pre-order for the HP TouchPad. Unfortunately, due
to the unprecedented demand for this gadget, stock levels across the
UK and Europe are incredibly low.

We wanted to let you know that we are working extremely hard to get
our hands on more stock as we know how popular the TouchPad has
become. Please bear with us while we try and secure more TouchPads,
and we promise to keep you up to date if and when stock arrives.

If we are unable to complete your order please rest assured that you
will receive a full and complete refund.

We sincerely apologise for the delay, but hope to be able to let you
know for certain the situation in regards to your order very soon.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi

Yeah I just had that e-mail from Expanseys too nostromo20.

Doesn't sound too promising does it!

I doubt it is even in their interest to bother to look for additional stock to flog it off at the slashed price. The whole point is that it was the companies who already had the stock who then needed to get rid of it.

    Ah well

Good heavens! The cheek of some people, surely no one will buy it at that price, it defeats the object. If they do flog it at that price they should employ the seller at HP so they'll do better with their good

Just been looking on ebay - suddenly there seems to be a number of generous benefactors who have given these as gifts to undeserving associates as "unwanted gift" seems to be top of peoples reasons for wanting to get rid at "bargain" prices of £250-300 (32gb versions) :rotfl:
