There is a thread at Maplins which suggests the product manual contains a list of compatible dongles

lifeslove - the Touchpad only launched last month so I doubt you were thinking of buying your son one at Christmas...
gonzoxl5 - NO. It connects one way - WiFi. Those dongles have Mac or Windows drivers. What drivers would you use for webOS?

You could buy a MiFi online and use that to connect to the mobile web (via WiFi from your device) or, if you have a compatible phone, set you phone to act as a wireless router ths sharing your connection... probably best however to setup another thread detailing this. Or, there may already be one. Just to keep this forum tidy and on topic.

To all those with issues with Amazon.

I do believe Amazon thought they would just be able to get HP to ship them more from the stocks HP has in the UK without any issues, however I do believe either HP pulled the rug from under Amazon and assigned the last remaining stock to another retailer. And it seems every other online etailer is experiencing the same issues with HP withholding stock and assigning it to preferable retailers.

If thats right, its shows arrogance on Amazons side and the mystery retailer/s either have leverage against HP or simply offered a better price and outdone the online superstores.

I'd keep a very close eye on Twitter tonight.

Thanks to the people answering the techy questions even though i know this isn't really the place (must get round to exploring other parts of MSE & even other forums in general for stuff like this) - I personally really do appreciate it and I'm sure other airheads like me do too

If you managed to snag a touchpad, read that for instructions on how to speed up the system, required very little technical knowledge and if you know the konami code off by heart you're one step ahead of the rest of the game.
