I have a reservation code for a touchpad case, in Argos Bournemouth town centre, if anyone wants it.

Note, this is for a case only - NOT FOR A TOUCHPAD!

Needs picking up today before 5:30.

  • Think Amazon were selling stock they didn't have. They took orders expecting to receive a shipment from HP. Once order received (possibly enough to request a shipment) they subsequently found out HP couldn't deliver. Website as big as Amazon I guess it is probably an easy mistake to make even if this is all the internet has been talking about for the last few days.

In that case make sure you get something from the driver saying you've refused it. You never know, he might want one !!

I have just had the following response from play.com

    Thank you for your email.

We try to ensure that we are offering the best value we can for HP TouchPad 32GB webOS 3.0 WiFi 9.7 inch Tablet PC, but as we have not received information from our suppliers with regard to price change, we are currently unable to make adjustments to match other website's offer.

It is unfortunate that our price is higher on this occasion, but we suggest that you visit our website periodically to check developments.

Got the dreaded Amazon cancellation - I'm mortified - anyone with a spare Argos code for Beds, Bucks, Herts, C. London, Wilts or Glous, I would be really grateful and willing to pay?

    Thanks in anticipation... x Susan

bb69 - depends what you mean by a dongle - there's no USB port to plug a laptop type 3g USB stick into if that's what you mean, never mind drivers. It's designed to be wireless, and even charges wirelessly with the charging dock. Therefore your MiFi devices, which I call a 3G router will provide the internet. I 'tether' through my phone, which does the same job as your MiFi device. Some contracts don't allow this though.
This is a bargains thread though, so lets move the technical questions elsewhere.

To the people moaning that Amazon haven't got the stock to honour orders, try to think logically in terms of the fact they changed the price at midnight at which point is seems hundreds (if not thousands) tried to order a product all in a very short space of time. No wonder their system has fallen over.

Don't get me wrong, I really wanted one of these too but if I don't get one then c'est la vie - it's only a tablet after all.
  • Hope is all we have left.

Mine is probably waiting for me at home but at £429 it certainly isn't going to remain with me unless Tesco decide to play ball.

It might be worthwhile writing to Country Manager HP-UK via their website and see if they offer price-match refund directly, like they have done in US.
