OK, so, just got the amazon cancellation e-mail. Here's to hoping we can get some from the HP site come Friday, if stock is returned to them.
... And that they realsie how much traffic it would generate, and act accordingly to prevent checkout keep restarting for 2 hours because the site goes down, until eventually they manage to run out of stock. If it rains, it rains.
We'll be in the street, looking thunder in the face,
Singing la la la la la,
I wont change0 -

Hi Seequis
Just received the same email from Amazon - this is ridiculous: they offer items that they cannot supply, send a confirmation of order email and then just cancel it without notice.
Disgraceful.
I used to think Amazon were quite good at fulfilling orders. This has changed my mind.0 -
I have also had the email from Amazon. I always miss out on things like this but oh well.0

Same here....i was also ordering at about 12.05 lol. So i bet they havent wanted to put any (or many at all if some) through.
Just came off phone with them as i didnt get the email, just logged into amazon to check status and it had vanished so i was baffled. I guess i'll get the email in a few mins.Mummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0 -
12.03 I placed my order with Amazon. I even spoke to their CS yesterday and was told that all would be honoured but it may take upto a month to deliver.
Why continue to allow people to purchase then cancel the order without having the stock. These retailers are real idots imho whom ever actions these sales should be sacked imho.0 -
Afternoon all,
I popped into Comet and they had a couple available for store delivery (only if you visit store) and I have one ordered ... I am not however holding my breath and expect a phone call later on saying sorry!0 -
I'm sad I didn't get a Touchpad, I spent two nights trying to secure one BUT, it isn't the end of the world. One can only hope something will appear or, maybe in a month buy one from eBay as the prices will drop, I hope.
Amazon were caught in the middle, I share in your frustration but I don't think it is their fault. In fact there is no fault - it is simply demand outstripping supply...
Ho hum... ah, did I mention if anybody has a spare going could I purchase it? Or a code? I am happy to collect...

Folks - I have started a new thread dealing with the HP Pre 3. I have detailed price etc and when it is likely to be released... it is expected to have a reduction of 200 - 300 pounds and retail for £49. I cannot post links but wanted to give you heads up and share this with folk. It is headed: After the HP Touchpad... now the HP Pre 3 Smartphone. £49 down from £400! Sim Free!
Are you serious?

Well maybe if I snag a few phones I can snag a tablet... that's my thinking but we'll see what happens on Friday... I love a bargain, when I can get hold of it. :j0
