Sanitary towels for teens

reverbe - Im pretty sure loads of teens sleep for 12 hours. Go to bed at 11, get up at 11, etc Im sure I did that loads of times. Its a weekend, who cares what time the poor girl gets up!
Emarillo - Ive heard 7 stone too. 5 stone is tiny for someone of that height, but my sister used to be pretty skinny at that age and I know how annoying it is when people just assume they are anorexic or something when you know they are eating fine. Sounds like shes just gonna be tall!
I think she is!! Nobody has asked me outright if she has an eating disorder, but a friend has told me people have asked her. My mums family are all very tall and skinny, also my husband was very slim until he hit 40. My dads side are smaller and chunkier and my other daughter and I take after him (yay thanks Dad!), yet my younger one doesn't have that much of an appetite. I wish people wouldn't judge.0 -

I know. I am 2 inches smaller than your daughter and weigh 2 stone more but I still get people shocked when they see how much food I eat :rotfl:I guess they just assume I dont eat much! But although I am small I still have hips and a bum so for anyone who really wants to look that hard its obvious I eat properly.
My sister is the same proportionally but about 3-4 inches taller than me and so in some ways she looks slimmer than me. She really was skinny when we were younger and we do crack up laughing at some of the pics of her when she was a child because in some ways it does seem funny now. But at the time it was not good because she would get teased.0 -
i could easily sleep for nearly 12 hours and im 'much' older than a teenager!0

for 12 hours???? What sort of times is she going to bed? I think with that schedule she should be pretty tired by about 9or 10 pm so why not go to bed then??Perhaps time to cut back on Air cadet squadrons if all they are doing is charity work and its taking that much out of her time and energy wise..
I'm pretty sure my daughters schedule is none of your damn business to be honest so how's about you cast your aspersions on someone else's life.
Personally I think you are just a WUM so I'm not going to dignify any more of your inane drivel with a response.0 -
When I first started my mum gave me pads and I hated them, they didn't stick to your pants properly, and it felt like it was sticking out the back, not to mention the smell (and you can totally smell it on other people if they are wearing a pad) and the mess.
I swapped to tampons and never looked back. I hated having to wear pads after giving birth.
So much easier, pop it in and away you go!0 -

Sorry I'm just someone with a work ethic.. wasting half a day in bed when there is so much to do, so much to get out of life and put back in.. just appalls me. IMO this kind of behaviour in teens is what leads to situations like the following.. in one of the offices where I work they were forever getting teens and school leavers into vacancies only to find they jack it in because as one of them told me he couldnt handle having to gte up and be in at \(the ungodly hour of) 9 am!!! Remember this is teens who can and should have a darn sight more energy than most of us..What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -

As for the original topic, I was given a selection of towels to try and chose my favourite from them. After a few months my Mum gave me some lillets to try and ever since I've used both towels and tampons depending on my requirements. As someone said earlier in the thread she didn't give me tampons immediately as she wanted me to learn about my flow etc. I also had a little make up bag with baby wipes, spare underwear and a towel to keep in my bag. She made it as painless as possible for me and I'm grateful to her for it, I didn't start until I was 15 though which was pretty late compared to my peers some of whom had started at primary school.Whatever0 -

I suppose her spending a few more hours in bed one day is preferable to her doing something with her life for the rest? After all you were suggesting she cuts back on the extra curricular things that she does so...!
I take it by work ethic you think only paid work "counts"?
Secondly - actually teens don't necessarily have more energy than adults, it's proven that they actually need more food/sleep as their bodies are growing exponentially during this time. Teenagers' body clocks also "reset", meaning their sleep cycles are different to other people. But don't let facts get in the way of judging people.
Thanks Blue, she was up and out of the house for annual camp at 4am on a Saturday morning 3 weeks ago, and will be again on Saturday for another week at camp. A week where she will be up at 6.15am every morning without complaint.
Funny though because I raised my 18 year old son the same way, he holds down a part time job (8-6 mon, friday & Sunday) and a University course (9-4 tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) and has managed not to be late for any of the above EVER. In fact, in the 12 months he's had his job he hasn't been late or had a day off sick.
His only day off is a Saturday, guess what? He gets a lie in :eek:0 -

how many years ago was this? considering apart from a temp Christmas job you haven't worked for the past couple of years so who are you to criticise any teenager at the moment or indeed anyone with a job?
Yes I've read your posts where no-one can tell you anything at work programmes yet they have a job and you haven't, doesn't that tell you something about YOUR attitude?0
