  • am feeling really down about my finances today.
the 12th of the month is when i always update my signature.i've been here for three months now and every month since i've been here my bebt has increased.
my loan and my cc's are slowly coming down but every month my overdraft increases.i'm not at the stage yet where i'm getting charges but if i'm not careful i am heading in that direction.
i keep a spending diary now and i am very careful about writting everything i spend down.it's not hard because i just do not spend money anymore except on things i absolutly have to have like petrol and food.my problem is not that i spend to much it.s that i don't earn enough.
it's very disheartening.am of to bed now.will come back in the morning feeling more positive.
    have a good day everyone.

  • still not feeling very good about my finances today but i know that i have to get over this as this is going to be a way of life from now on.i want to try and get that positive thinking back that i had when i first had my light bulb moment.
so i'm going to do lots of positive things today.i'm checking out new credit cards as one of mine is not 0%.i'm also going to get some listing done on ebay.and i am defo going to have a nsd.
    catch you all later.

  • well i have managed to update my signature now so everyone can see whats what.
i've decided to change my barclaycard to anothercard as it isn't 0%.it's so hard trying to decide on the right one though.also,i hate applying for things like that online.i would much rather be able to talk to someone.i'll look at it again tomorrow.
i havn't had any work from the agency this week which is a bit dissapointing.i ring the girl there every week just to say hello and let her know i'm here but she didn't even return my call this week.
did some baking this afternoon.my fairy cakes are so much better than any shop bought cakes and much cheaper.plus the dog now knows that when i'm baking whats left in the bowl tastes lovely,he doesn't leave my side the whole time.[sorry if you find that yucky,i think maybe it's a dog owners thing].also made a huge tuna pasta bake and had 3 portions for the freezer.
managed another nsd today,so all in all not a bad day.:)

    Hi there Greenanne

Thought I would delurk and say congratulations on your progress so far. You're doing really well.

Try not to worry too much about the debt going up. Mine did too a little at the beginning but it soon started going down. You're becoming much more aware of what you spend and that's excellent progress in itself.

You will get there. There are loads of ways to earn some extra cash. Can you take on extra shifts with the agency? Have you tried mystery shopping? That one's a favourite of mine.

I've subscribed to your diary. You're helping me stay on track. Best of luck.

  • i've been good but i've also been bad:D

only in the money saving sense obviously.anything else--chance would be a fine thing.
ok the bad first.top of my list of things to do today was to change my barclaycard to a 0% finance card.i thought about it but then didn't do it.it was just the thought of going through all that detail again.i will do it tomorrow for sure.there as i've told you that it will make me do it.:o
so,good things i've done today.i've arranged for my phone and broadband to be swapped from virgin to the post office.i was a bit annoyed.i phoned them and they said i had to speak to virgin to get my'mac' number[what ever this is].everyone had warned me that companies don't give this up easily but they have to give it.so i braised myself and sure enough they said i didn't have one.so i get all angry with this guy insisting i'm in the right.when i phone postoffice back to say i've had no joy ha says'oh well never mind it's not important,we can give you a new one'.i felt like screaming at him WHY DID YOU TELL ME TO PHONE THEM THEN.anyway it's sorted now for go ahead in afew weeks time.
i also managed to get some bits listed on ebay today.the amount of clothes that i have that are worth selling are dwindling a bit now.lots of next has been replaced by george.so i'm in that 'ebay' mode now where i have to keep checking how many poeple are looking at my listing or if anyone is following them.
i've also had another nsd today.that makes 8 so far this month.it's amazing how easy it is if you dont achually have to leave the house.although i took the dog for a walk on the common just before the sun set this evening and it was lovely, and completly free.
thankyou to you guys for looking into my diary and leaving your thoughts.it really makes my day to read them and helps me stay on the straight and narrow.also, can someone please tell me how i go about subscribing to someones diary.
    have a lovely friday everyone.:T

Oh greenanne...much sympathy with the hassle of changing your phone and the MAC code and all that. When I changed ours over the guy told me they would have to cut my phone off that very day if I was going elsewhere. I was waiting on an important work call and thinking I'd have to pay a reconnection fee and all that. However, he was obviously talking a lot of rubbish. Only I didn't know that at the time and got myself in a right state.

These things are sent to throw us a bit and you've come through it. Well done!

    Loving your diary, btw. :D

    Happy debt busting.
