  • in the post this morning was a copy of the local mag that i've placed my ad in.i've decided to try and earn some extra money by helpping people who are looking after elderly relatives living at home.there my advert was in black and white.i just felt panic.what would i do if someone phoned, what would i say,how can i try and sound confident yet professional and friendly all at the same time.
as it turned out it didn't matter because no one phoned.
also in the post today came a letter from the charity i sponser a child with.i have been having a 3 month holiday from my payments[their phrase not mine] and as this is now up they want to know if i will be resuming my sponsership.i would have loved to have said yes to them but i have to be sensible about it so i said no.when i am solvent again i will look forward to sponsering a child again.
other stuff going on today.the weather has been so lovely my jel candles have melted.i bought some balloons to make my money box to start my savings.i havn't had a nsd as had to get some bits for my sisters birthday.
i am of to the sea side tomorrow with a friend and my dog.hope to have a swim and then a picnic on the beach.thats the plan anyway.
    have a great thursday everyone.:)

wow,we are at the end of another month.where did that one go.

i had a fab day at the beach yesterday.the weather was great,i lay on the beach and finished my book, then we all went in the seafor a swim.even the dog came in.
at last i've been paid.i also have some wages from the agency.i'll sit and add things up properly tomorrow but i can see already from my spending diary that i have spent much less money this month.i have also managed to have 13 nsd.i never would have thought that possible, although i now have next to no food in the house.i can't wait to go and get my big shop done.
anyway, well done to everyone who has had a good money saving month.have a great weekend.:)

  • I've really enjoyed reading your diary; I've subscribed. i think that you bought yourself chocolate, and the plants was really good even though it might not seem like it it will definitely stop you having a chocolate induced blow out later (I'm often guilty of such things). well done for the amount of NSD's you had!
Use it up; wear it out; make it do or do without!

thats another weekend out of the way.
i only worked a half day today so i went to asda to do my big shop.i didn't want to go on a sunday but i was getting desperate for food.when the last of the tea bags go then it's time for action:)

i used to enjoy going shopping but it doesn't hold the same attraction now.i went in with my list and didn't go anywhere that i didn't need to.before i would always have looked at the clothes.
i'm not sure if i've got enough food to last a month, this is something i'm still trying to get my head around.i did have lots of asda value range items in my trolly and even thought i would try asda tomato ketchup where i would only have heinz before.i really wanted to buy some salmon but i just thought it was to much money.maybe i'll have it as a treat sometime.
am of to look at some winter seeds on ebay now as i have a little bit of money in my paypal account.
    have a lovely monday everyone.

what a lovely day again today.had to work a half day but then had some training when i'd finished.
i went to the post office to collect my books that i got for 1p each on amazon.one was a martin lewis and the other was the paupers cookbook which i had read about on here.
i tried my hand at baking again.tried white chocolate brownies[a packet mix on offer].not sure what i did wrong but they came out rock hard.even the dog thought twice before he ate one.
i sat down and worked out how long it will take me to pay off my smallest cc debt.i was horrified when i saw it will take me well into next year paying it at the rate i am at the moment.so i'm going to try and work out how i can pay more.i think i will cancell my lovefilm subscription.i know it's only £5 a month but its better coming of my debt and i often don't watch the films i get.i also put £50 away a month[it goes into savings on the 30th and i've usually drawn it out by the 3rd.]any little bit of money i get i'm going to throw at it.watch out,red head on a mission.:)

i did a bad thing today.
wednesdays i don't work at my normal job i try and do some agency work.but when they phoned me up and offered me a 5 hour shift i refused it.partly because i was already into doing stuff at home that i've wanted to do,partly because i am hoping to get some work from them at the weekend when i can earn more money.i probably won't get anything for the weekend now and that will be karma coming back to get me.
i have had a productive day though.had my first nsd of the month and have done loads of work in the garden.managed to get the grass cut before the rain came.also managed to split up a hosta that i've had for over ten years, meaning i now have 4 new hostas absolutly free.best of all i've given two away to friends,i love being able to do things like that.
for my dinner tonight i had an asda value range gammon steak.it looked a bit fatty in the pack but there was so much there it didn't matter if you cut a bit off.there was achually enough for two but i ate it myself:o.
i'm off now to catch the last episode of the great british bake off which i missed last night.
have a good, not to damp thursday everyone.:)

i managed to get a nsd in today which i was pleased about.i'd like to go for 5 in a row but coming up to the weekend im not sure about that.
i got a cheque for £43 today from music magpie for my cds.i had heard some bad things about them but i must say i've found them very easy to deal with.thats only my experiance obviously.
i work a long day tomorrow so i've made a sandwich and have some crisps and home made cake to take for my lunch.this evening i had a friend round for a meal.usually i would have bought lots of expensive food but tonight i served sausages mash and swede and it was bl**dy lovely.also i told him to bring a sweet with him.meaning a great cheap meal that was enjoyed by all.
have a great friday everyone.the weekend is just around the corner.:)

well my weekend didn't work out exactly as i planned but it was better in some ways.

i went to see my sister on sat morning.i'm going to change my phone and broadband supply to the post office.she already has this and she works for the postoffice so she had picked up some leaflets for me.at the moment i am with virgin but my monthly charges are just to high.luckly i already have bt phone lines in and there is a half price offer on the connection charge for the postoffice at the moment.
the agency phoned me to go and do a night shift on saturday night so i did that and achually quite enjoyed it.working nights every so often is good.years ago i used to do nights full time but that just wears you down in the end.this is much better and there is the added bonus that you are getting well paid for it.
the upshot of not going out at the weekend is that i now have 5 nsd under my belt, this is also 5 nsd in a row.although looking at my overdraft already this month i need all the nsd i can manage.
just on a sadder note.i explained right at the start of my diary that the thing that triggered my light bulb moment was seeing the people who lived two houses down from me being evicted from their home and the house being reposessed.they lost all their possessions and apparently spent some time living in their car.we don't know where they ended up but i was told today that shortly after this had happened the husband died.so she lost everything and then she lost her partner as well.
we may not be rich but we have alot to be thankful for.
    have a great monday everyone.:)

  • i worked untill lunchtime today and achually managed to get up on time this morning which is a miracle for me.
i managed another nsd which i was pleased about as i know i'm going to have to spend quite a bit of money tomorrow.i have to go up to london to do a course for the agency.i've already paid for the course but my train fare will be about £20.that will be painfull.then i'll just be surrounded by places to spend money, coffee shops and places to eat.i will be really tested.driving home from work today i really wanted to go to the sandwich shop and buy a chicken and bacon roll.i used to buy them all the time at £3 each.i must have been mad.
it's nearly time for me to update my signature for this month.my debts are coming down a bit but still my total is going up each month instead of coming down.it's a bit disheartening.
well have a good tuesday everyone and be careful out there.don't be tempted into those shops.:)
