i've just updated my signature ready for the new year.
my debt has only come down by £100,but seeing as it was december i suppose that could be worse.
i'm off now to try and work out how to work that out as a %.
i would just like to wish everyone a very happy money saving new year:jthere is no wealth but lifesealed pot challenge#240

Hi Anne
Good news re the lodger, it all helps.
£100 is great, less owed and less interest to be paid back. :T
Glad you had a good Christmas, mine was quiet and fairly cheap which I put on the CC but have it all ready to pay off once the statement comes in, may as well stay in my account for a few days longer. I never do anything for New Years either, always used to go to the pub but that stopped a couple of years back. I'm normally in bed by 22:00.
Take care

well here we are nearly at the end of january all ready.i did have a weeks holiday but as i was still doing my private work it doesn't feel as if i've stopped at all.i'm not complaining though.it's lovely to have the feeling of having a little money in my purse,i am in a different mind set now though that just means i won't waste the money i've got.i can see how very easy it would be to fall back into old ways.
i have been using my cc though which i havn't done for ages.only for the convienence of being able to book something on the internet.i am still friends with some girls from school and we are all having a 'significient' birthday this year and want to do something for our birthdays.one friend went out last year and i couldn't go to that due to lack of funds.but we have a couple of 'do's' this year.i have been paying them off though each time i get money, much to the annoyance of the lady in the bank.
i also got my new phone.a free smart phone and a contract for £7.50 a month with enough free texts, call time and internet for me.because i was going onto a contract for the first time though when she was doing the paperwork she said they autormatically do a credit check.it took ages and then came back asking for more info.she was about to say when it does this it gets refused but then it was approved.i would have been so embarrased,i had a friend in the shop with me.
this is the last week of my lodger being here.i will really miss her when she goes,i've been really lucky to have someone like her staying.it's made me more confident about renting the room as well and i think i may look to advertising it in afew more places.
i think thats me up to date for now.:)there is no wealth but lifesealed pot challenge#240

ok,ive had quite a mad few weeks here.the short story is i adopted another rescue dog.after loosing my lovely ben last year i was convinced this was the right thing to do.unfortunatly it hasn't worked out though.he was not a dog that would ever be able to be left alone,so hopefully they will be able to find something more suitable for him.i paid out alot of money for him and things he needed,i've maxed my credit card again and all normal things just went out the window.he also tore one of my carpets to shreads.
so now i have to knuckle down and get my life back in order.i need to tax the car this week, pay some money of my overdraft with my old bank and replace my bath taps as one broke in my hand yesterday so now i can't turn the hot water on.
oh well, lifes a learning curve and i feel like i've just got to the top of a great big mountain.:)there is no wealth but lifesealed pot challenge#240

so last week i knew i didn't have enough money in my bank to cover my council tax.so today i have recieved a letter from them saying they are going to withdraw my direct debit facility as this also happened once last year.this is a real blow to me as i am terrible at remembering to pay bills myself.i will phone on monday to see if i can get them to change their mind on this.
it was only when i checked the balance of my barclaycard on line last night that i reolised id gone slightly over my limit.i went into the bank this morning and payed this off straight away.i also paid some more off my overdraft.
on monday i will pay for 6months car tax,i already have the money for that.i feel like ive gone back another two steps after i had started moving forward a bit.i'll feel better on monday after i've spoken to the council.:)there is no wealth but lifesealed pot challenge#240

new year update.
ok so i'm doing some updating.was supposed to be working tonight but they didn't need me which I don't mind.never like working new years eve.
I've rejoined some of the challenges and updated my signature.i finished the year owing slightly less than last year.would have been much better but I had to put nearly £300 on my credit card for dental work that just couldn't be put off.
I've had a lot of success renting my spare room out this year and I have a booking during January.i am also setting up a listing to rent it out on a second web site.there is no wealth but lifesealed pot challenge#240

Hi there Greenanne
Just wanted to duck in and catch up since I've been awol for a while. I've really enjoyed reading about you renting out your spare room, that's brilliant.
Best of luck with it all.
