thought i'd have a bit of a catch up this morning.
since i last wrote i've had two people staying in my room.one lady stayed for two nights then a young chap stayed for a week.i must admit the moneys nice but it's also nice to have the house back at the end of their stay.the room is now advertised at £20 a night and i would really like to get someone in there for over the olympics.
the new bank account is still going well but i feel like i've not been as strict with my spending.dont get me wrong i havn't been buying stuff i don't need but food wise i've got out of the habit of doing a big shop and i buy things as i run out of them which makes you feel like your always spending money.
i managed to sell a couple of things on ebay which i was pleased about as i havn't been on there for ages.
i've had a productive morning today.i went round and took reading for my water, gas and electric.i've been thinking for ages that i'm paying to much for my water,i seemed to pay more than everyone else i know.low and behold she said i was on a standard rate charge instead of a low user rate and my dd has been reduced by £5 and i'll get a small refund.on the gas/electric the amount i was in debit has come right down but i was still paying loads.this dd has been reduced by £11.the miserable and slightly patronising guy on the phone at scottish power warned me that as the winter came i would end up back in a large debit situation again so it's been an insentive to see haw i can try to cut back on my energy bills and save money:p
i'm of for a look round all the new threads now to give me lots of fresh money saving incentives.:)there is no wealth but lifesealed pot challenge#240

morning all.
well i had my first day back at work yesterday after being on holiday in scotland with my family for a week.i was very good though and managed to spend hardly any money.
my room has been booked for another two weeks which is great.he achually wants to book it for 4 weeks but has booked for 2 and then will extend if everything is ok,which is a good idea.the money from this will be great and it will allow me to pay back the money my sister lent me when my central heating went wrong which i am really pleased about.
my old bank have been in touch about starting to clear my overdraft which i was expecting as i hadn't paid anything since changing accounts.so i've agreed to pay a certain amount for 4 months just to get it back within the agreed limit.from then i must be more strict about paying it.
i've got my little cleaning job back again which is good.i have been having problems getting a payment i have been missing from the agency.it's not their fault it's the client i went to work for but it's been a month now since i did the shift and still have no pay for it:mad:there is no wealth but lifesealed pot challenge#240

Hi anne
Long time no look in, hope you are okay.MFI3 T3 # 750 -
evening all.
another little update of where i'm at money wise.i know i don't update as often as i should but i like to come back every so often.it helps to remind me of my debts.i will have to sit down and update my signature.
i have been a bit lax about trying to pay back extra payments when i can.i have got one more payment to make to barclays on our'agreed' plan.the overdraft uotstanding there is still over £1000 though.my new bank account is just about ticking over nicely now after afew problems where i had d/d going out at the end of the month and no money left to pay them.
i have still been doing some agency work but am just about to start another little job working afew nights a week looking after a lady.it's not long hours and i am probably going to do two nights a week.i keep thinking about all the things i could do with this money.i know the sensible thing to do though will be to put as much as possible towards paying off debts.
i must must must try to get back on my diet again.not only do i feel terrible because i've put weight on but i waste so much money on food.i'm still terrible in that if i have money in my purse i will spend it,even though i know i shouldn't.i know it sounds pathetic.the only way not to spend it is to leave it at home.there is no wealth but lifesealed pot challenge#240

afternoon all.
well i've updated my signature.doesn't really make good reading as the only thing thats come down in my loan.i'm hoping with my new little job to be able to make some inroads into this though.
i did my first night last night so i'm having a lazy day today.i'm not going to go out as i don't need anything and i know if i go out i will spend money.so it will be my first nsd for quite some time.
it's just over a year now since i joined the site and although i'm still not completly on top of every thing i do feel far more in control than i did then, and much more in touch with everything money wise.i no longer dread the postman coming every day:)
have a good day everyone.there is no wealth but lifesealed pot challenge#240

so i've started coming back to the forum more often again.i always manage to find some jem of information that it helpful to me.
i've been asked to do an extra shift in my new little job for a while which i'm going to do.having this extra money has just been a godsend and i want to try and make the most of it while i can.
i am still paying off my old overdraft from before a changed my account to a new bank.i went into the old bank today to pay some money in over the counter.i wanted to know what rate of interest i paid on my overdraft and imediatly the girl went into a sales pitch about if i moved it to a loan and tied it into a new mortgage i would pay less.bl**dy typical ba***ays.you only have to walk through the door and they are trying to sell you something.
the reason why i was asking was with the extra money i have i want to throw it all at paying of one debt quickly and i wanted to compare interest rates.the result is that i am going to concentrate on my barclaycard first.it would be amazing to see my debt coming down.and i achually want that more than i want to rush out and treat myself to something that i probably don't really need and can maybe ask for for christmas anyway:rotfl:there is no wealth but lifesealed pot challenge#240

just a quick note today.
last night i had to have my beloved dog ben put to sleep after a very short illness.i still can't quite believe he's not here any more.
everyone has been so kind and my dad gave me a blank cheque to take care of everything i needed for now which has meant i could do everything for ben that i wanted to.there is no wealth but lifesealed pot challenge#240

thankyou 666paw for your kind words.the house is very strange without him but at last i can think about all the great years i had him rather than just his last few hours.
as far as everything else goes.i have everything i'm getting for christmas.i'm going to my family on the day so havn't had to buy loads of food.this has been the first year that i can remember where i havn't used my credit card once.everything is already paid for.
the guest i have renting my spare room has gone home for christmas but she will be back to stay for a month during january.this has been a godsend and will go toward paying my dad back for the vets bill.
i can't believe it's christmas eve,it doesn't feel like it.
have a lovely christmas everyone.:xmassign:there is no wealth but lifesealed pot challenge#240

this bit in between christmas and the new year always seems to drag on.i had a lovely christmas day but just want to get things back to normal.i will be working on new years eve.i have never really been one to go mad for it so might as well be out earning money.start the year as i mean to go on.
i havn't been near the sales.there is nothing i want and just the thought of all those packed shops puts me off.i have been slipping back into some bad habits as far as buying snacks while at work,so i'm going to search the forum for lots of packed lunch ideas.i've managed to get back into the habit of putting my 20p's in a jar each day and anything else i can afford into my sealed pot.nsd's went out the window in december[although i have just had a no spend weekend] so i've signed up for the january challenge and i'm determined to be more organised.
i have been threatening to change my phone for ages and at last i've decided which one i want.the guy in the shop said it's the easiest smart phone there is.it means going on a contract but it's £7.50 per month with 250mins and 5000texts which is way less than i'm paying at the moment on my payg.i have £10 credit on my phone at the moment though so will use that up first.
also,i have another booking for my room.someone wants to stay in april for 5 nights.
thats all my news for now:)there is no wealth but lifesealed pot challenge#240
