have managed to pick up 6 more shifts with the agency.i've managed to get lates so i can have a lay in as well.
am getting low on some groceries but want to try and hang it out till i get paid again.the dog will have to have cereals for breakfast.i've still got lots in the freezer.i think because i've been working alot i havn't been cooking.i'm of to find some recipies for the slow cooker though.
i've taken a little cleaning job which i'm going to do tomorrow.4 hours ironing at £10 an hour.it will definatly come in handy.:)there is no wealth but lifesealed pot challenge#240

Hi Greenanne.
Sorry not been around but decided to take a break from the net for a few days.
Have taken a look at your SOA but cannot see anyway to trim it down more. Like ani*fan I was going to suggest a lodger but see that you already have your room advertised.
How you been keeping as see you have been working hard. Remember to take time out for yourself.
Take care

havn't been around for afew days as have been trying to get afew early nights in.
it's my weekend of from the normal job so a nice lay in sat and sun, then agency shifts in the afternoon.
i had another charges letter from the bank.this month they've had £88 in charges and £26 interest.it feels like im working just to give money to the bank.my friend see me doing lots of work and im sure they all think im loaded.how could i explain that i have absolutly nothing to show for the extra work.despite earning so much extra i will end the month in as bad a situiation as i started.i've got to get the new bank account sorted out.if i'm honest i have been putting it of because it won't be straightforward but i must just go for it.
i also have something to confess.i bought myself an ipod today.i've wanted one for ages and i keep borrowing my friends.i had the money from the ironing i did and i had £10 left from xmas.i got one on offer for £99 in sains**rys.i put the rest to it.i know i shouldn't have done it but im not sorry.at least i've got something to show for the work.there is no wealth but lifesealed pot challenge#240

well just took the bull by the horns today and walked into natwest and opened a new basic bank account.it was so easy.i sat down with him there and then.they didn't ask to see bank statements just id and that was it.
now it's just getting everything changed over.i get paid tomorrow so all my dd's that come out on the 1st up till about the 10th can come out of this account.i'm due to get paid for agency work on saturday so i'll let that go in then change future payments to new account.so there is money in there ready.i'm a bit scared of mucking things up during the changeover but i just have to keep a really close eye on it.
i sat down and worked out today that by the time i added everything up this month i had earned £182 more than i'd spent.if it hadn't been for the overdraft and charges that could have come off my debts.even when i've changed banks i'm not sure how i'm going to pay the overdraft off.idealy i think it would be good to put it onto a 0% card, but thats much easier said than done.:)there is no wealth but lifesealed pot challenge#240

morning all.
i've had a letter from barclays this morning about my claiming back bank charges.they sent a form to fill in,a budget planner/financial planner, but said they were looking into the claim and it would be resolved no later than feb 17th.i've filled the form in as it was only everything that is in my soa.so fingers crossed.:)there is no wealth but lifesealed pot challenge#240

was at work with the agency this evening.they found out yesterday that the ward i mostly work on is going to be closing, probably within the next two weeks.it's such a shame,i really enjoy working there and it's so handy.i really feel for the girls who work there though.they will have to work at other places instead.
i'm going to go and get the months shopping tomorrow.i've been a bit lax this month and spent money on food that i shouldn't have just through not being organised.
also when i was filling in the form that the bank had sent today i was going through my soa amd i reolised that i havn't added my pension on to it.so thats another £70.!!there is no wealth but lifesealed pot challenge#240

Well done for getting the new bank account sorted out!! :T:j
I'm sure you'll notice a big difference in the next month or two without all those charges coming off your wage. I'm so pleased for you!
Another wee thing, make sure you speak to the original bank and make a plan for paying the overdraft off. This was the mistake I made when I moved from the abbey. I went to another bank, just changed my wage and DDs and off I went. I had an overdraft with abbey and thought it was ok as I kept paying my overdraft fees always but then 6 months later they must have been reviewing accounts or something and wrote to me asking for the whole lot back. (about £1500...) I'm pretty sure this was because they did not see a regular wage-sized amount going into that account. I contacted them and had a flaky fit down the phone, telling them I didn't have that kind of money to hand and they offered to let me pay it up. I'm not sure of the details, it was a while ago, and in the end I managed to make a huge payment from my wages, move some of the overdraft to credit cards and basically tried to manage it without going down that route. However, you do need to talk to them about a plan for paying it back. If you wait until they contact you, you may end up with the nasty surprise I got.
Tbh, if all the money you've been paying in bank charges went towards paying off your overdraft, you'd be rid of it in no time.
Brilliant move, greenanne. If you know you have enough, you're rich.0 -
i worked a night shift last night at the hospital.robably the last time i'll go there which is sad.i have spoken to the agency and i think they will be able to give me work with the same rates of pay it will mean me going further afield though and possibly having to pay parking charges at hospital rates everytime i go there.the problem is i've been really spoilt where i've been going so it's time to go out into the unknown again to somewhere new.:)
i checked my reciept from my a*da shopping yesterday and i got a coupon back for £2.44:) as always,i've no idea why i got it but i'm not really that bothered, just keep them coming.
i want to ask everyones advice on something.i've seen advertised at tes*o.blackberry phone,£15 a month, loads of talk time and texts,24 month contract.i have always resisted a phone contract.i have payg.i spend £15-£20 a month and use my land line for as much as possible but do have to use my mobile when im out at work quite a bit.what do you think.there is no wealth but lifesealed pot challenge#240

not really much going on here at the moment.was working all weekend, just about managed to get to all my calls.
had a no spend weekend and another nsd today but will have to get some petrol tomorrow.
have now got all my stuff through for my new bank account.am waiting till i hear back about my bank charges before i change everything over.i should hear back by the 17th.
the agency phoned today.apparently they still have shifts at the hospital which is great news.
did some baking this evening.am going to make some soup tomorrow and i have some liver to go in the slow cooker.the only thing with that is i find it doesn't freeze well after it's cooked,it goes hard.or maybe it's just my cooking.:)there is no wealth but lifesealed pot challenge#240

not really much to report at the moment.
the main good thing is that i've updated my signature for the month and the total has gone down £278 from last month.it's the first time it's gone down and is only due to the overdraft coming down because i've managed to work so much.i've got another 2 agency pays to go in in the next 2 weeks which should keep me out the charges zone and also help me pay my car tax at the end of the month.
i have another £36 to pay towards the 'hen holiday' im going on next month.thank goodness i don't have any more friends who are likely to get married.also,my kettle packed up the other day.i got a nice one in te*co for £6 and i had a £1.50 voucher so it wasn't to drastic.
ok i think this is starting to sound really boring so i think that will do for today.:):)there is no wealth but lifesealed pot challenge#240
