monday 12th
well i'm still around so no ill effects from eating the two years out of date jelly.
it was my first day back at work today.i forgot to set the alarm and got up late, normal day for me then.i took a sandwich and drink to work so have had another no spend day, thats 3 in a row.will have to get some petrol and shopping tomorrow though so i will try and stock up with things that will keep me going.
i had 4 surveys today and i didn't qualify for one of them.one i answered questions on for 5 mins before it decided i wasn't what they were looking for.how anoying is that.
i've been getting my figures together to show how much my debt has changed in a month [i'll put them on tomorrow] and i've found that it's gone up instead of coming down all thanks fo my overdraft.i know it's only been a month and it will take time but it's still a bit depressing.the only good thing is that i am not near my agreed limit so won't pay any charges,i've got to keep a close eye on it.i'm a bit worried that i have to pay for shopping and petrol from there but i don't have money anywhere else.i think i will get stuck into doing some listing on ebay tomorrow.i know it's not much money but as a certain advert on tv says 'every little helps'.

tuesday 13th.
have had a bit of a mixed day today.firstly i had to phone scottish power about them putting my monthly payment up from £50 to £74.an extra £288 a year.the girl explained about the price increases etc etc.anyway.i've changed to a different tarrif and am now paying £62 a month.not as bad but still more than it was.sometimes it feels like you go one step forward and two steps back.
i've got all my music magpie cd's ready to be collected.i know you don't get that much for them but i am very impressed with how easy the process has been and i would use them again.
i went shopping to asda and managed to get all the shopping i hope will last me till the end of the month for £31.also cleaned out some kitchen cupboards which is always rewarding.i did have to throw some things away.even i draw the line at things that are 5 years out of date.
so here are my first months figures which don't make very good reading as i'm more in debt now than i was when i started.my cc payments will look better from next month as this month i had to pay charges for a late payment.

wednesday 14th/thursday 15th.
didn't manage to fill my diary in yesterday.the agency phoned and i went and did a night shift last night which was great.any extra money i can pay of my overdraft is good.the only thing is they also offered me a shift for tonight which i can't do as i have to start my other job at 7 tomorrow morning.
had another nsd yesterday that makes 4 this month.was hoping for another today but the window cleaner turned up this morning and i had to give him my last £7,i was gutted.
music magpie collected my cd's this morning so hopefully they won't take to long to pay out.i'm going to spend the afternoon getting stuck into some ebay listing.
i'll be back later.there is no wealth but lifesealed pot challenge#240

friday 16th.
ok i admit it i didn't make it back yesterday cos i fell asleep.a night shift every so often is great but it really makes me tired.
i've been at work all day today so have managed to have another no spend day.doing the nsd challenge makes me reolise how much money i used to waste.it's really helping me to stay on the straight and narrow.
i've made fairy cakes this evening.it's been well over a month since i bought cakes or chocolate.
i've been keeping up to date with my online banking.although my overdraft is way way to high it isn't out of control.i know exactly what still has to come out and exactly what it will stand at by the end of the month.just knowing this makes me feel that i have a little bit of control over things.

a whole weekend without spending a penny yippee
the fact that i've been out working has helpped but that used to be when i spent the most on rubbish.the odd bag of crisps and bar of chocolate not to mention bacon and egg roll soon mounts up.on that note i have also lost a bit of weight now im not eating the junk.
while i was at work today i drove past a house that obviously has an apple tree in the garden and they had left a big box of apples outside with some carrier bags and a note saying help yourself.i love finding things like that. so i've just made some apple sauce and will have pork chops for dinner tomorrow.
i had the idea in my head that i would go and get some shopping tomorrow then i remembered that the shopping i have already has got to last me to the end of the month.so i am going to sit down tomorrow and work out all my meals for next week.this isn't something that will come naturally.i usually just say i'll see what i fancy on the day.we'll see how i get on.

wednesday 21st.
i have been slacking a bit in my diary writting.i don't want to get into the habit of doing that,i enjoy writting down the things i've been able to achieve even if they are very small.
i'm still logging on to my online banking the difference now is that i know exactly what is going to come out and when it's going to happen.thats a great feeling of being in control.never mind the fact thats its all in the overdraft.my main aim in life is to get this over draft down.
i did a shift for the agency this evening and i'm booked in for another one on sunday.this extra work is great as it gets paid weekly.
anyway.thats it for today.have a good thursday everyone.there is no wealth but lifesealed pot challenge#240

thursday 22nd
was just working a half day today.called into tesco on the way home to look at their picture frames as i had afew vouchers.but just as you go in the door there were the loveliest winter plants and i've really wanted to get some.they were £4 and i had £4 in vouchers so how could i not get them.also i keep getting emails from necter about this and that.i never shop in sainsburys any more and don't often collect any points.but i thought i'd checkout how many i had and i've managed to get £15 of amazon vouchers, how great is that.have already ordered one of martin lewis's books and the thrifty cook book.
today i also made some of the gel airfresheners.they were very easy to make.i think mine will need a bit more oil next time, and i'll get some food colouring but they are a great alternative to expensive candles and plugins.

another no spend weekend but i don't mind the fact that i'm not going out to eat or to somewhere else where you can blow £50 in the blink of an eye and have nothing to show for it.
i spent the whole of saturday with an old friend who i havn't seen for ages.we were at a confrence for a childrens charity which she works for.seeing the children and the families there made me think that we do all have so much to be thankful for.
my fridge and cupboards are getting a bit empty now.i'm determined to make the food i've got last till the end of the month.i've already started writting a shopping list for next month.i've got a better idea of the sort of things i should be getting to make the shopping go further.i've already spent so much less on food than last month.i'm still religiously filling in my spending diary.so the last week of my second month as a dfw, no longer dread the post,i am now in control.:jthere is no wealth but lifesealed pot challenge#240

have been at home all day today.didn't go to work as have a bad back.the agency phoned and offered me a night shift but i just don't think i could have managed a 7pm to 7am shift today.
the only good thing about being home all day is i havn't spent any money so i'm now up to 12 nsd's this month.
i ate the last of my cakes i had made yesterday.i wanted to make something else but don't have any eggs left,so i checked the internet for egg free recipies.i ended up making a raisin fruit loaf which is not to bad.i'm going to try to get some ebay stuff together tomorrow.i can't wait for pay day on friday.

i was having a good nsd today but then i was overcome with an urge for chocolate.
i havn't bought any chocolate for a while so i just thought b*gger it and im glad i did,i'm over it now and can get back on the straight and narrow.
i managed to find a piece of chicken in the freezer for my dinner tonight.tomorrow will be something made out of tuna and pasta.i have run out of dog food though so he will have cornflakes in the morning, not that he minds that.
it is also my sisters birthday on saturday so i'll get everything i need for her tomorrow.
so not a particularly exciting day but another day in control of my finances.:jthere is no wealth but lifesealed pot challenge#240
