  • Cheap bras - if you are willing to spend a long time searching you might find pretty/fancy bras on the cheap. Debenhams stores at sales times are are good for this, as are Beales (but I don't think they've got many branches...) You do have to dig through racks and racks of stuff though.

Otherwise clothes, now Oxfam are getting expensive though they are good for the odd bit. Often the quality is really down to the individual store and area  I buy knickers from M&S in the sales, and try to buy everything else either Charity Shop or reduced. And shoes come from Clark's outlet shop near Holloway, I can't abide 2nd hand shoes!

I have a fixation with George at Asda, i love it! cheap and pretty!!

My general style is retro / 1950s but buying cheap from ebay etc i can incorporate items from all over the shop. cheaply too!!

Im 23 and I must admit i dont like charity shops, but love ebay :D I find it hard to find bra sin large cup sizes AND large back sizes, Bravissimo in Newcastle dont cater for me, and Sady the bra lady (local bra hero) are a rip off. Asda & m&s are the best for me. For something i wear EVERYDAY i dont mind paying a little bit extra for. Its not like a coat ill wear occasionally, i wear bras everyday!

I find the Asda bras fantastic - very good sizing too and they last for ages for a very reasonable price (around £7 each for a 40DD) As for clothes, charity shops round here are usless the clothes are either smaller sizes or far to expensive. I've had some bits from Ebay but sizing can be a problem so I generally stick to MK1, ours does a huge range of bigger sizes and I never buy when it's full price - T-shirts that they normally sell for £8 each normally go to 2 for £6 or down to £2 each if you can wait long enough. I also find their trousers are great - combats at £6 a pair in the sale that wash really well. I got a fantastic cardi from there at the beginning of September reduced to £1 as it's a strange colour - but it's long and snuggly and perfect for wearing round the house.

Most of the clothes I have are on their 3rd year of wearing, pretty good for cheap and cheerful I think.

I buy my undies from Primark, Peacocks or Matalan normally, the cheap and cheerful stuff that i can get in lots of different colours to match the tops i wear ( i dont need a big size either, even when i put on weight, it doesnt go up there!!!)
I can get tops from charity shops, but trousers i tend to goto the Next half price sale, because i have long legs and need the longer length, which i very rarely see in charity shops. I always wait for the sales, i cant remember the last time i bought a pair of trousers at full price!!!!

If I am going out I prefer classic but casual, at home I tend to slop around in either trousers or trackies.........I hate shopping for clothes, can never find anything a0 I like or b) in the right colours.

I was colour coded years ago and know what suits me so tend to buy when I see something. I do feel more comfortable in trousers these days, only wear a skirt or dress (only have 1) if I really have to.

Re bra's again very difficult. I used to wear a certian make but they have stopped producing them and have not found a satisfactory replacement.....drives me nuts, I resent having to pay £20 - £30 for a bra, you need more than 1 which can mean an outlay of up to £100 just to keep the shelf under control LOL.......................

  • When it comes to Fashion I am no longer a slave to it. At 31 I look at creating what Audrey Hepburn did, Style. What looks good on you that never goes out of fashion. Cashmere jumper, Shift Dress, long walking skirt, Fine Knit Cardigan, a pair of casual trousers a pair of black boots, a pair of black stylish court shoes, a pair of sensible walking shoes. Nothing has to be expensive, but if it is go for quality that will last for several years, always get shoes rehealed.

I always look smart and tidy and smile at the freedom I have for not needing to follow fast fashion.

I love cashmere but have given up, they always manage to find their way into the washing machine and end up doll size.

Try M&S washable cashmere, it works a treat, had one turtle neck for 3 years.
