  • I keep clothes for a very long time. I buy stuff from Primark, Matalan and Tesco as well as if it's in the sale and I need it. I haven't really had much luck at charity shops but lots of friends have so I always keep an eye out just in case.

I agree with the poster (sorry can't remember who) re: style keep it simple and classic.

    Keep smiling:D

I buy most stuff from H&M and dorothy perkins. Also topshop and then bits and pieces from wherever I can find things that fit. I need 35" inside leg for trousers so cannot buy things from just anywhere and they're rarely in the sale. Hence I pay whatever I need to for trousers.I generally wont pay more than £10 for tops though as I can get these anywhere. Also most 'cheaper' shops don't do 32 size bras in a DD so mine have to come from debenhams or la senza

I buy clothes from all over the place, but very rarely pay full price for anything! Outlet shopping is best for me - Gap, M&S, Next & Fat Face always have bargains to be had. I also buy from Matalan, Primark & George at Asda. Costco is pretty good on occasions, I've got a few bits from there too.
In the past few years I've been lucky enough to go to the USA twice & Australia (and am v jealous of softstuff, living in my favourite place!) and always buy clothes, as they are sooooo much cheaper than in the UK.
As for bras - I'm an M&S girl - 36/38 C & as plain as possible, no itchy lace or frilly bits please!

Beautiful thick wool tweed coat from charity shop on its 2nd winter with me now. A large collection of shoes and boots, never bought at full price, which I get mended at the local repairers. No pyjamas. QUite a few wool/wool mix jumpers, as I have found they last longer, and I can wear it now but as a child it made me itch. Primark undies, ONLY underwired bras (necessity after 3 children;)), primark socks and tights, and dri-fit sportswear from adidas and usa pro (in a sale) - can't stand sweaty cotton  Nike trainers for £4 because they were odd sizes, I NEVER wear sports clothes unless I am doing sport.
I think I am gradually building up a wardrobe which has enough classic items in it to be able to get dressed without too much hassle. But I do like to look at magazines (on special offers of course - 3 for £1 and so on) and see that I can in fact look like I am up to date when in reality I have just been 'shopping in my wardrobe' as a dear friend calls it;)
Most expensive things I think are my engagement ring but I didn't buy that! Apart from that my clothes for yoga are probably the most expensive outfit I bought myself, even reduced, the top was £14.99 as were the trousers, but I have to be comfortable. OH got me a ski jacket that was about £50 but it was in a sale. I think if the clothing needs to have a special function then it is worth paying to get it just spot on.
My most costly boots were about £50 but they were half price, and about to make an appearance on ebay as I have tired of them.
Martins tip of looking at the price tag always works, I very rarely buy clothes on impulse.

I'm 37 and of the male frontal arrangement;)

I would describe my style as aged skater boy. Much to my 11 year old sons horror I wear my jeans just as bum crack flashingly low as he does LOL. If I've got me jeans, a T shirt and a beanie hat I'm fit to go. During the summer this uniform is seasonally adjusted with the addition of 3/4 jeans or board shorts, flip flops and baseball caps. All my clothes are from cheap shops such as Primark, Peacocks, George and Ingoldmells Market.

Undercrackers are in sensible 'servicable' colours LOL and I don't chuck them away until they have more than the three necessary holes they had when they were new. LOL. All my socks I get free from my Dad who is 'in the trade', so is my Mum but the socks she works on are somethimes nearly £100 a pair so I don't get freebies from her LOL

T shirts are worn 'on show' during the summer months for three years or so until they start to 'look their age' and then I relegate them to my winter T shirt drawer. I feel the cold so during the cooler months I wear three/four light layers and some of these 'out of sight' layers hark back to when a Conservative government were in power or boast tour dates for bands that split up 15 years ago LOL

Jeans I buy in baggy style and bootcut and in three sizes, Fat, Normal, and Snake Hips:rotfl: I managed to get catalogue returned jeans last year for £1 a pair so I sharn't be needing any for a while.

Shoes I get from Priceless, George or Shoe Zone. I only take a toddy size 6 so I either can't get any shoes my size or get the pick of sale bargains LOL. I have 5/6 pairs of different styled trainers for daily use, flip flops for summer, wellies for beach/wood walking in the winter and one pair of dress shoes which require me to be carried after the first 10 minutes. LOL

For the last year I have adopted a policy of only replacing what has worn out so I guess I spend less than £100 a year on clothes.
Life's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.
  • Like many others I very rarely pay the full price for anything - we have competitions in the family to see who can put together the cheapest and smartest outfits. I buy in sales and in charity shops but only buy new shoes (in the sale or from outlet shops of course)
I like to look stylish, and find that at 59 it's better to stick to fairly classic basics and follow fashion colours with scarves, earrings, necklaces and bags etc - plus they ALWAYS FIT!!
Last week I got 10 pairs of knickers in the Tesco sale for £2.50! I buy Primark's 'wonderbra' copy for £3 and throw them when thy discolour/get baggy - I'm a 36A so why pay £20?
I also find it helps to really look after good clothes - get changed after going out, wash and iron frequently, hang up properly, wear an apron etc.!! - I sound just like my mum!!

Re bras Next have started doing a wider range of cup sizes, up to F. I've found them to be everybit as good as M&S ones. The bras are about £11 or £12 full price but were only a fiver in the sale... I thought I'd stock up but accidentally ordered the wrong size...doh! But even at full price they're half the price of M & S and a quarter of the price you'd pay at many places.

For fashion items I go to Primark or Peacocks. Tesco are also great for up to the minute stuff at low prices. I have gone off Asda as I don't think their stuff is as good quality as it was.
Shoes and bags are mostly from ebay.
Underwear and more expensive goods from Marks as sis in law works there and gets the discount.
When we have days out I always have a good rummage around the charity shops. I have managed some lovely buys including a wool Laura Ashley coat for £5. I also buy all my books from charity shops then sell them on on Amazon or ebay.
Also like Sainsbury's clothes and Dunnes Stores and find TJ Hughes often has great bra's for those of us with magnificent bosoms.

I work in a ladies clothes shop and as I get a 75% discount i very rarely buy anywhere else. To be honest I would love to break free but find even places like new look etc work out the same price or more than the clothes at work. I also make my own clothes so I guess all my other clothes come from the fabric stalls on briminghams rag market. Shoes - on pair fits all. I HATE BUYING SHOES.

I'm still an old goth but not as way out as I used to be. I'm 34 so I'm too old to be alternative but too alternative to be old. I get most of my clothes from 2nd hand shops or sometimes have a shopping spree in Camden or buy something from ebay or another website.
