Old Stylers - What is your fashion??

Most of my clothes are from Tesco, Primark, Asda, Peacocks, Next and Primark. I love a bargain and when people admire anything I'm wearing, I cannot resist saying things like 'Primark...only £3!' :j
I like the jeans from Next as I always seem to be wearing them and they wash and last well. I always buy decent shoes and boots, usually from Next. Someone once said 'we spend most of our lives either in bed or on our feet so you shouldn't scrimp on either'!
(Oh yes I almost forgot...Aldi sometimes sell bargain clothes including trendy shirts for £4.99 which I bought two of for my husband for xmas. He was really impressed and couldn't believe I'd bought them in Aldi!)0 -

The dorothy perkins tall range does trousers long enough for u. I have to have a 34 inch inside leg but sometimes buy them from the tall range if i want them extra long to wear with heels (always in the sale though!)Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0 -
I never ever wear dresses or skirts(since school) so its trousers and shorts for me.
Last year I made 3 pairs of shorts as I was fed up trying to find some I liked that were good material and not stupidly priced. I lived in them all summer and they'll be worn again this year as soon as the weather permits.
All my jeans and trousers are charity shop finds.
Same with shirts,t-shirts and jumpers .
Underwear is always new and from Primark or matalan. I used to get given second hand undies as a child and promised myself that was not going to happen when I had the choice.
The last new thing I bought for me was sports bra's in primark last summer.
The kids get bought a lot of charity shop clothes (not undies though or shoes).
I bought DD a Versace blouse in a charity shop just before Xmas for £1.0 -
I love clothes!
I'm 21 and i try to look fashionable but i know what suits me and i wont wear something that doesn't just because its in fashion.
River Island, is my fave place on earth but mainly out of my price range so for my brithday every year i ask for vouchers so i can go and buy some jeans and a few tops from there as a treat. Otherwise i shop in New Look, MK One, Bay etc.
I love charity shops though have had more luck with clothes for DD than i have for myself but i got a pair of River island jeans there for £3.50 last year so was chuffed with that! I like to wander and browse when i've got time, have found some real gems on occasion!
I don't smoke, drink one bottle of wine a week and we rarely eat out so clothes are my 'thing' just as Boyf has his football lol.

Bit like black-saturn my teenage style has stayed with me
I was wearing vintage 20 years ago when you could pick up gorgeous 50s and 60s frock from charity shops - in fact my Nanna used to work in one then and would pick up all kinds of bargains for me. I still have a couple of my vintage pieces - in particular a red velvet 50s coat which I love.
Anyway having a bit of an eclectic style can be a boon when money is tight as you are used to creating outifts that have 'your' look as opposed to the high street look. I bought a white coat from Asda last year that everyone loves and thinks cost me 5 times as much! I tend now to either look a bit 50s - pencil skirts and high heels - or a bit beatnicky or the old goth in me will come out. I have some investment pieces which cost me a fortune but which I wear over and over again - you might find this hard to believe but a black knee length rubber skirt can be worn a million different ways on a night out.
If I need shoes I buy them off Ebay - I used to buy really expensive shoes (if I won the lottery shoes would be my major indulgence) but as I've NO money now if I need a pair I'll scout around Ebay til I've found something I love - last buy was a brand new pair of black patent pointy stillies for £4 inc. postage! Gorgeous. I've had less luck buying clothes from Ebay but still had some amazing bargains.
I've always shopped in charity shops - for work clothes they are invaluable. Seeing as I have about 10 black pencil skirts I just buy a top or two from the charity shop and my work wardrobe never wears out. And I don't give a stuff if Trinny and Susannah think black looks cheap - PHOOEY! Black, as any ex goff will tell you, is the new black dontcha know?
Besides what do they know? I was at an award ceremony at the Savoy last yearand one of them came out of the loos sniffing her head off and looking very perky............................

I'm 28, usually size 12-14, currently size 14-16 (hopefully not for long!) and big up top like so many of you. M&S bras don't fit me in any size - the cups are a bit too wide apart
and their sizing system is all their own - there's no such thing as a FF cup in M&S, it goes straight from F to G! I'm a big fan of Bravissimo, particularly for being fitted (once you've been fitted there you know how to fit yourself properly!), also for their fitted shirts and (particularly) their strappy tops with built-in bra. These are not cheap, normally about £30 though sometimes they come down to about £20 in the sale, but they are brilliant both for summer wear and as a "foundation garment" - I'm wearing one today underneath a crossover top I got yesterday in the Wallis sale.
My budget is not desperately tight compared with many on here, but I don't like paying over the odds for things, hate waste, and love second hand shops. I don't follow fashion and prefer to buy things that will last. My general shopping pattern is as follows:
Usually pay full whack for:
Bras and similar fitted garments
Tights (M&S multipacks)
Find that charity shops are great for:
Jeans - I keep finding Per Una stretch bootcut jeans for under £6
Basic tops - like plain stretch t-shirts from Gap or Next
Some skirts and knitwear
Some party/formal wear
Shop in the sales at pricey places for:
Trousers and suits for work (Next and Wallis are particularly good)
Shoes - I almost always buy the sort that look as though they can be re-soled and heeled to within an inch of their life!
Primark is great for:
Pants
Pop socks
(I don't shop much in Primark but there's one opening up soon that will be more convenient for me so who knows).
BHS/George/Tesco is great for:
Pants
Socks
TK Maxx is great for:
Accessories

i get long tall sally trousers from ebay as i cant afford there new prices but any other suggestions would be apreciated!
As a 36 incher too, i shop in Dorothy Perkins... I refuse to buy LTS stuff as it's so expensive... I do buy soem of it on Ebay and treated myself to a suit from there for job interviews, but yes, Dorothy Perkins is the way to go for us tall people!

cupid_stunt wrote:I buy most stuff from H&M and dorothy perkins. Also topshop and then bits and pieces from wherever I can find things that fit. I need 35" inside leg for trousers so cannot buy things from just anywhere and they're rarely in the sale. Hence I pay whatever I need to for trousers.I generally wont pay more than £10 for tops though as I can get these anywhere. Also most 'cheaper' shops don't do 32 size bras in a DD so mine have to come from debenhams or la senza
M&S and Jordans range at Asda do 32DDs... I'm the same size, and have the same inside leg... scary!!

Most of my stuff comes from H&M although my weaknesses are crew clothing rugby tops and fat face zip ups. oh, and ollie&nic handbags from ebay!!
I'm a 34H and am finding it really hard to find cheaper bras that fit. Bravissimo is fab- like bargain rzl I also like their clothes, which actually fit, hurrah! but so pricey. Anyone have any ideas for bras around this size? I know M&S stop at G and I think next stops around there too :-(

I've finally come to the realisation that I am an M&S girl at heart so why waste my time looking anywhere else?! One of my new year's resolutions (which I never stick to) is to buy a few, quality items of clothes rather than buying loads of cheap ones in charity shops or Primark/Matalan and giving them to charity after a year or so. I've had M&S stuff that I've worn for about 12 years!
Bras: M&S (sorry, sounds like I work for them but i don't, or have any other financial interest in them for that matter!) do up to a G cup at much cheaper prices than Bravissimo etc. I believe they are also introducing a range for people who have had mastectomies (sp?) in some stores very shortly. I always buy my bras in their sale. Got one for a fiver last week and best bargain was a 2 pack for £7 reduced from about £25. Have to be careful though, I stupidly bought one in the sale which makes me look like Madonna during her Vogue era....very conical but very supportive!0
