i'm following the diet i was told to by the gynaecologist, Low GI as that's best for PCOS and in the middle of the Couch 2 5k and i swim at the weekend too, i'm happy with my plan just the PCOS makes it hard to lose weight :) x x

Well done on the diet and exercise - very impressed. I'm lucky that I'm not overweight but I know I could improve my diet and start doing some exercise and have heard good things about the GI for PCOS.

I really want to do Couch 2 5K but I need a running buddy! I'll never do it on my own..

I'm reading a book at the moment which I really like called 'Fit For Fertility' by Michael Dooley - has anybody else read it? It's a good practical approach to 'control the controllables' (i.e. do what you can and don't worry about what you can't). He is a fertility specialist but has a really good holistic approach and considers complementary medicines and treatments as well as the usual stuff, and strongly believes that lifestyle issues should be addressed before any medical intervention/treatment.

Thought this sounded good so had a quick google and managed to pick it up on ebay for £2.69, with free delivery! It's a second hand copy but that's fine, I honestly can't remember the last time I bought a new book.

I think there were a few on there (probably ex-library copies) if anyone else is interested. They were buy it now, so it will hopefully be with me in a few days.

    Hello girls:wave:
As for abbreviations, I have a colleague who signs her name as AF:o

Lilymay, I'd say it's a TLP, (((hugs))) for the FRER but it's still early yet:)
amyloofoo, hope the witch won't come this year:o
    atton, That's a beautiful ring:happyhear
Sorry to hear you didn't get the place at your uni, but hope something else will come up soon.
    Don't SS too much:naughty:
Brain is a powerful thing. It can make up symptoms that seem so real.
becca, I've heard of the softcup idea, people do have success with it. Let us know if you get it:D
Leopardlady and codemonkey, hugs for AF:(
    smiley_hug.gif
    Squirre1s, yay for the perfect 28day cycle:j
Sounds like your body is ready for some serious ttcing:D
    That's a beautiful dress:happyhear
AF go quickly vibes sent your way:wave:
    Helenlk, congratulations!!!:j:j:j
Our first August BFP! How do you feel? Have you told your OH/DH?
I don't have much details about you, is it your 1st? When did you start ttcing?
Birdie, I never really liked babies or kids, never held them for over 10 secs, and even that was nearly 20 years ago:o
I don't want their babies, I want mine (is my excuse):p

I got all maternal after the mc, so I'm now OK looking at babies in prams and running and screaming kids at supermarkets:cool:

I don't envy those who are pg, I know how uncertain they are:o
tea lover, I assure you, there's no Q in my real name:D
And I'll never talk about cm to my real friends or relatives:shocked:

I bought mine for a similar price on Amazon second hand - it's in excellent condition and was delivered within two days! Let me know what you think tea lover, I'll be interested to hear your thoughts.

One of the foods suggested in the book as a 'good' fertility food is Brazil nuts.. I was saying to DH this morning that they are in my muesli so I'll definitely get pregnant.

At which point he said: I think you've read it wrong, surely they mean get a Brazil wax, not eat Brazil nuts. That's much more likely to get you pregnant :rotfl:

Ok, today's stupid question (and then I promise I'll shut up)...

Is it just the caffiene in coffee that you're supposed to avoid when TTC/pg? There's a new coffee machine at work with lovely decaff options but now I've confused myself about whether I should have one or not.

Are there other things in coffee which aren't a good idea, or is it just the caffiene? Obv. I realise with a cappucino there's going to be sugar but I can live with that.

Congratulations Helen - here's to a happy and healthy pg for you xx.

(ps - my name's Helen, I'm hoping you're my good luck charm lol)

Hehe - I too was a little shocked by your name altho goodness knows why?! Obv you weren't called tea?!? :rotfl:

And MrsJ - How dare you not be called MrsJ in real life :rotfl: I really did think that would be yr name, like Mrs Jones or something.

It is really funny to think what people actually look like in real life etc, and real names etc. I used to be on a weight watching forum, and made friends on there. I have some of them as facebook friends now, and one of the ladies came to my wedding :D I would count her as a really good friend, as once on facebook we message each other quite often and have a similar sense of humour etc.

I am Abi in RL, my surname did begin with S, and I was 21 when I started that user name up, however I am 31 this year and concious sometimes that people may think I am trying to pretend I am still 21 (and I wouldn't go back to being younger for any money in the world - am happier now than I ever have been)

Congratulations to Helenk :j:j Wishing you a happy and healthy 9 months :A

Hugs for those who the witch caught :o Hope she doesn't come back this year for you.

Squirrel - LOVE your dress, its so pretty. Good luck with the wedding. It'll be nice to get AF out the way as then you can have a honeymoon baby

Atton - LOVE your ring  I have an unusual wedding ring and no engagement ring as I saw my ring and knew it was 'the one' and it wouldn't fit alongside another ring, so I just have the 1.

Lilymay - Fingers crossed for you that the line darkens and you get your BFP :A
 Married my lobster in July 2011

TTC # 2 since Oct 2011 - good things come to those who wait :o

 2013 is going to be our lucky year
