Trying for a Baby Part 7

Hey, I am 27.
Do you mean ovulation? Ive never determined, sometimes in the past I have felt pains on either side of my tummy, which I thought was OV pains.
My periods have always been rather erratic, for a long time I was waiting 3-4 months between each period, but my doc said a lot of that was due to my weight, I was almost 18 stone at 5ft tall
About 3 weeks ago I missed 3 or 4 days of the pill and bled, then a few days ago I had the pains but I thought the pill stops ovulation. OH and I hadnt had sex for about a week or so until the day after bleeding stopped as he was away.
Before the pill and for a couple of months when I started taking it I was having a period rougly every 2 weeks, so if this started happening again does it mean they are not 'real' onnes, I mean a 2 week cycle is not normal is it.
I am very confused about the whole process to be honest, there is so much info out there and trying to keep up with the abbreviations too!
For example, is it advisable to not have sex every day, OH and I generally do, but also not every time is actual sex but he still ejaculates, is tis a good or bad thing?
Also do you think its worth getting some of the conceive plus for trying straight away? I am natrually WELL lubricated as it is, even kissing gets me flowing :rotfl::o
I can't help with your other questions but in answer to the highlighted one - if you've got no fertility issues then having sex every day won't adversely affect your chances of getting pregnant.
There's a school of thought that suggests that, if the man's sperm quality is a bit on the poor side, he should abstain for a few days. However, I read an article in the New Scientist the other day suggesting that, in actual fact, ejaculating every day increased the quality of good sperm, possibly because it spends less time in the vas deferens (which is where the damage is thought to occur).
All that aside, keep banging away every day if you want to (you lucky thing!). The massive advantage is that it won't matter when you ovulate - temping and trying to make sure you have sex at the 'right time' can be really stressful."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

Hello girls and a boy:wave:
lilymay, let us know when you get a BFP!
TTC40, no I don't have plans to see DH in the near future:p
abis, fingers crossed your hcg will come down very soon (((hugs))).
mogwai, piccy of the sponge cake?:happyhear
Lily the legend, welcome back:wave: Hope the conception moon did the trick:)
becca, great news re doctors:)
Bigbird, hugs for BFN, but fingers crossed you ov'd later than you thought:)
blacksta, fingers crossed your wife is pg this cycle:)
NewMrsL, you are perfectly normal ttc lady:rotfl:
Dieting and stress will send your cycles haywire:o It'll get back to normal soon:)
MrsC2b, BDing every other day is recommended, but every day is fine too:) If you do that, then there's no need to determine ov, I only do that because DH is a once a week man:ofluffnutter wrote: »It's a great pic but I'm pretty sure that sperm aren't that big (or eggs aren't that small)I did read (in the New Scientist some years ago) that some women have really tough outer linings to their eggs and the sperm just can't get through.0 -
If you're an everyday sort of couple then I'd definitely just go with that and see what happens. Charting, temping etc can all get really stressful really quickly. If you're at it everyday (am jealous lol) then you're bound to catch ovulation so you're giving yourself the best chance every cycle.
Even with great timing and everything working as it should, it can still take a good few months to get that BFP. I think it's something like a 20-25% chance each cycle if you BD at the right time.
So best advice for now would be have lots of sex and try not to stress about it. Unless you know of any issues on either side of course, then it's advisable to see your GP.0 -
Research shows that ovulation prediction (ie tests and charting) are no more effective than s e x at least every 2-3 days. Like in everything else, there's many ways to skin a cat so just do what works for you as long as there's healthy sperm around when that elusive egg shows her face, you're in with a chance
What I found to be a great relaxer was watching a documentary called the great sperm race, it shows just how miraculous it all is and that's why it can take a few months, as the circumstances have o be juust right.
Course, I hope I reverse jinx you and you're knocked up first go lol x xLittle Lowe born January 2014 at 36+6
