Great news MrsH. When do you think you will be able to do it?

Good news about deciding to go for sperm retrieval MrsH, how much do you need to save for that and the ICSI?

We are thinking towards the end of the summer, I have to go for some genetic tests as mrh is a CF carrier, so we want to find out if I am, fingers crossed I'm not as if I am it will mean we have a 1 in 4 chance of having a baby with CF, we know we are already taking a higher chance of downs due to our ages but we will have big decisions to make if I am also a CF carrier. Then it will be retrieval and ICSI, we are looking at around the £6000 mark  We have just booked a holiday for June before we decided to go for ICSI and I'm annoyed that we have spent that money, but a holiday will do us good :o

Hope you get your lap soon TTC40, I have no idea about how waiting lists work though

  • Good news QQuaver, made me smile :) your news, keeping fingers crossed for you.
Squ1rrel - wedding in new York sounds fab, how exciting!
TeaLover - good luck with the appt tomorrow.
TeamLowe - you should sign yourself up for a 5k or 10k race, that will really tempt fate!
Becca - I'm sure it took my body 2 or 3 months to settle down after coming off the pill, so sounds normal.
Vesper - I would definately be hiding her posts.

AFM - CD30, no idea when or if ov'd this cycle, out of cycles that have been anything from 28-35 days. Trying desperately NOT to do any ss, so far doing ok.

TTC40 - re. waiting times, FWIW I'd say take anything the hospitals tell you with a big pinch of salt. For my last lap (probably can't say which hospital or it will get taken off) I was repeatedly told the waiting list was 11 weeks. I actually waited just over a year. Even when I'd been waiting over 9 months they were still saying the waiting time was 11 weeks. The one before that (diff hospital), the official waiting list was 16 weeks but I had a lap within about 8 weeks.

The only place I've found accurate waiting time info is on forums, by speaking to other people who've been treated at the same places.

That's probably not what you want to hear at all is it? Sorry!!

First FS appt tomorrow and I'm bricking it. Am really nervous that they'll either say there's nothing they can do, or they'll say they can help but the waiting list is like 4 years or something.

    Good luck for tomorrow.

Spoke to FS's private secretary today who said to speak with the hospital waiting list lady to find out if I could have it done sooner with another consultant. She was very helpful & checked but said that not all consultants do the treatments & based on what I need, the consultants who do it all have similar length waits.

She checked that I was on 'short notice', in that I was happy to be contacted if something comes up sooner - this had been recorded last week. She said that sometimes they do extra surgical days & need lists filling - but didn't have any planned. So many maybes.

Spoke with private secretary again who is going to speak with FS to see if anything else can be done. She's meant to be calling me back tomorrow.

FS has confirmed that if we had IVF first, I could have NHS lap after - it seems wrong but means I would only be paying out for one lot of treatment.

OH has obviously been thinking about it as he said after working with people who have had IVF, he knows it would be tough. Mentally would it be easier knowing the lap was still to be done as IVF wouldn't be the end of the road?

I know I should go for lap first, but is that what I'll do?

QQ - everything crossed for you. I am already thinking about what I would tell my Mum in respect of treatment. I would feel deceitful having surgery without telling her, but can do without the added pressure of her knowing we are trying - cos she would be TOO excited. That said, if I do get pg, I would be able to sell tickets to watch her face when I told her!

QQuaver - hubby broke his ribs in a go karting 'incident!' On a night out with his mates, apparently it can take 4-6 weeks to heal, so BDing is out for foreseeable future : (

    Hello everyone

I miss you guys every day but I try my best to stay away from internet...

Just a quick message for QQ:

Please stop using the mask and start introducing the light if it's possible. You might ov in time for the next scan :j:j:j

Mrsj28 Not to give you high hopes, but I had an implantation dip 7DPO first month when I've m/c so it might be something there. Second time I had a triphasic chart.

Hugs to everyone who need them and also fab news MrsHappy :j:j:j

    Have a nice evening.

I think that's a nice way to look at it. It seems a shame not to get excited, I think I just need to make sure I've booked a massage or planned a nice weekend with my OH if AF shows so that I don't eat the whole of Tesco's chocolate aisle:D

Absolutely - if AF shows this weekend (due on Saturday or Sunday I think) we are going to have a nice Chinese takeaway and a bottle of wine, and we are going to a wedding on Sunday so I can enjoy a few drinks there.

I still have quite a lot of chocolate in my left-over-from-Easter stash. I don't think any of it will survive if AF shows this weekend!
