    Back from FS appt.

He has said I have two options if I want a chance of getting pg.

One is to have a procedure under general anaesthetic to try and unblock the tubes. They would first try to flush them, then a catheter , then surgery. This would all be done at the same time, if the flush didn't work then move to the catheter etc. There is a 90% chance of success of unblocked tubes.

    The second option is IVF.

Both have a similar cost of £3500 to £4000. A benefit of the procedure is that it gives us a chance every month whereas IVF is one try with a 15% chance of success.

He is going to check if the procedure could be done on NHS but I'm not hopeful and he said there is about a 4 month wait.

OH is also going to check on our medical insurance. It doesn't cover fertility treatment but the FS said that some cover investigations.

If it was covered, I would def hav it done. I suppose that leads me to think I will probably have it done even if we have to pay.

I'm still unsure about whether IVF is for me - although I think this is a journey and we are all moving from one destination to the next. Maybe if I got my tubes sorted and wasn't pg in a few months, I might do it.

Thanks MV. It doesn't sound at all old on other people, iyswim, but it feels ancient on me!

I've really struggled with my age since turning 30. It's like a black cloud landed on me on my 30th birthday and just hasn't left since. I feel perfectly happy with life for most of the time, but I just feel so incredibly old. Like life has passed me by and I've missed my chance to have a family.

I was single when I turned 30 and had been for seven years by then! Managed to meet OH get married and have a baby by the time I was 34 though. Thirty really is not old. Most of my mummy mates are older than me.

I have something to ask but am on iPod so it will have to wait till I'm ony computer as I hate writing on this.

    Evening ladies:j

Still no sign of AF for me :undecided OH took me shopping today, didn't buy anything because I hate crowded shops, it's still half term here so town was manic:mad:

Forgot to say on Tuesday that I reached my WeightWatchers goal and am now a gold member :EasterBun

    Sequeena - hello, welcome!

zcrat- 6 stone? wow, well done thats amazing!

ttc40 - how much?! personally I think I would try to unblock the tubes before trying IVF, it's a shame it's all so expensive. Hopefully your insurance can cover it, fingers crossed for you x

TTC40 - I'm really pleased you have some realistic options. I can't comment too much as I know nothing about either procedure but I want you wish you all the best for which ever option you take. Your post also put things into perspective for me.

Claire - thanks for the chart info. I got that there might be a slight drop before ov, but my temp has been like a rollercoaster so far so wondered if i would notice. My OV stick from today was darker than yesterday so i will keep up with those too.

Just to say again ladies, i really appreciate all the advice, guidance and support from all of you. I hope we all get nice BFP's very soon

My temp can go up and down a lot before ov too, but now Ive been temping for quite a few months, I now know when it drops to a certain temp Im about to ov, because it never goes that low otherwise. So it might take a couple of months for you to work out a pattern :)

TTC40 - sounds like the procedure to unblock your tubes could have the best success rate then? what lot to think about, Im sure you will come to the right decision.

    hulla Sequeena I remember you.

Got a high on the cbfm this morning, and the opk's are getting darker, so looks as though I will Ov tomorrow.

Haven't had a chance to read through every thing else, sorry.
Remember never judge someone that makes a mistake, because in six months time it may be you that makes the next mistake.
