I understand Tea, I was really down when I turned 30 too. In fact I was more depressed about that than when I turned 39 last week!
When I was preggers, the sonographer who did my 20 week scan told me that in fact older mothers are the norm thesedays, and she said that in her experience she had seen more healthy pregnancies in women over 30 than under 25, so that's good to knowMetranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
Hi tealover,
Am 35 and only just started to ttc, things with relationships in the past were not right at the time to ttc. Even thou I always wanted to. I have learnt so much in that time to be a even better person to be comfortable and with a stable partner to ttc.
I have been questioned many times about my age and not having kids. Have said I would love a family. Mixed answers back, some say "couldn't have them that late" but thats from people younger than me with families. Others "you have loads of time" mainly from people older than me.
I just know I have never been more ready as a whole, without worries and stress that I had before.0 -
Lilymay I have PM'd you.
Tea - Age is just a number I was 24 when i had dd1 & 37 when I had dd2. I feel a lot calmer & in control now & that I have a lot more life to offer dd2.

Hugs tealover. But these days having a baby under 30 is pretty much a teenage pregnancy! My Mum had me at 35 and I was always really embarrassed because she was so much older than all my friends Mums, and she acted even older than that which made it worse. But I know a lot of people (about 30) who have had babies recently, most of them first babies, and about 90% of them are over 30. Quite a lot are over 35.
I also can't believe where the time has gone. I feel 21 still, and can't understand how I'm not still! You definitely haven't missed your chance though and you'll be in a better position when the baby does arrive so keep with the PMA.
Tinkwings - I think most of you stuff is amazing but I absolutely love that bag. You're very talented
Skintchick - I am so sorry about your friend. It really isn't fair and I hope she can find out if there is a reason why it keeps happening. You're right that our bodies are amazing though.
QQ I really hope that everything is ok for transfer.
Lilymay, I'd keep TTC as well if having a larger family sooner is important to you. It might be easier for them you taking time off sooner rather than later when you'll have more responsibility and getting someone to cover for you will be more difficult. We have that problem here because a lot of people who have spent a long time here working their way up the career ladder are now having children and we can't find anyone to cover for them. I've not been here very long so finding cover for me would be so much easier.
Quick question - should I be using my cheapo ov sticks in the morning or evening or both?0 -
My mum had me when she was 37 and my sister at 42, and that was in the 80s
Just popping my head in to say good luck to QQ0 -
Thanks all. 33/34 doesn't sound too old to have a baby as such, it's just that to me it seems to old to be able to get pg. Which I know is ridiculous as a) lots of people manage it, and b) the reason we haven't managed it over the last 3 years is nothing to do with age.
And yes... I realise that makes no sense!0 -
Right ladies, just after some quick help.
I'm not expecting to ov yet as only on CD2, but I just did an Ov stick to make sure I knew what to look for and...I can see the control line and a very faint second line.
The pack says that that is a negative, but am I looking for 2 lines that are the same darkness? or the 'test' line to be darker than the 'control' line?
Why does a second line appear if you're not ov'ing. Is that just to make it more complicated for us?!14th October 201020th October 20113rd December 20130 -
Just popped on to say goodluck today QQ!
Stupid CBFM played up today, I think I didn't pee enough on the stick. But got a OPK out and looks as though I will be OV tomorrow at a guesstimate.Remember never judge someone that makes a mistake, because in six months time it may be you that makes the next mistake.0 -
Tea Lover i know what you mean, i think we all have an idea in our head of how our life will go and its suprising when it doesnt go that way
I myself wanted to have 3 children before i was 30 so that they were fully grown before i was 50 so DH and i would have plenty of 'us time' afterwards to travel the world like my parents. it was upsetting me that this probably wouldn't happen now unless they were uber close in age, unlikely given that i'm struggling to even ovulate let alone conceive, but i've realised that it's only me putting pressure on myself and i should cut myself some slack. i only really care about having a healthy pregnancy and having healthy babies, no matter when they choose to grace us with their presence
so i've compromised with myself, i want 2 by 32 :rotfl:x xLittle Lowe born January 2014 at 36+6
