Sorry, just a rant, completely non ttc related, but I am steaming.

Those who have been trying for a while might remember my saga of my awful trip to visit my parents over Christmas which culminated with my mother crashing into my (parked) hire car at high speed causing about £1000 worth of damage. It was parked a good 200 yards from her car, but she got into hers and did a three point turn at high speed and reversed into the back of mine, and didn't tell us what she had done until we went out later and noticed the extensive damage.

She has just phoned me to complain that her insurance premium has gone up by £250 this year because the hire company has claimed for the damage from her insurance, and what do I propose to do about this, as she can't afford the higher premiums from here on in, and also hasn't told my father about the accident and he will now find out

I am a SAHM so what she really wants is for my OH to pay the increased premiums for her every year until she stops driving (she is in her early 80's so that day is possibly not far off). I don't really see why I should ask him to do that. It probably would have been cheaper for us just to pay to have the damage to the hire car fixed ourselves at the time, than several years of higher premiums for her, and she didn't help herself by cracking lots of jokes to her friends in the few days beforehand about how bad a driver I was because I was nervous about driving a much bigger car than I am used to in a strange city (the hire car was a Picnic so massive)

Ouch. Your mum's being a bit naughty there. If it makes you feel a bit better, even if she hadn't claimed on her insurance, she's still obliged to let them know if she's had an accident. I'm not sure you can get away with simply not claiming and not declaring to try to keep premiums down - I think that's fraud.

So even if you had paid for the damage yourself, she still would have had to declare the accident and suffer a consequential rise in premiums anyway.

I know it's a pointless thing to say, and that family's are complicated, but you really shouldn't have to pay the premium rise yourself, Nicki. It was her fault. I know she's your mum but even so....

I know this sounds horrible but I have to be extremely blunt with my family and in your case Nicki I wouldn't be paying the rise in premium and would hope it would teach her to drive with more due care and attention. Had it been a neighbours car on the street she wouldn't expect them to pay the rise in her premiums, so I don't think she should be expecting you to pay either. She should think herself lucky that there weren't other people involved ie. in your car who could have been hurt.

    Morning ladies,

Where are all the March BFP's to congratulate??!!

    Hello to any newbies!!

Huge hugs to sa-ra-ra , welshgirl and rups, so sorry to see you back/here and wishing super sticky baby dust next time.

It's CD 1 for me. I knew our luck was out this month as I think I ov'd while staying at the in-laws and we had a poorly DD in bed with us so no chance to BD. We had got a couple in the 2/3 days before though. I'm a bit gutted but as DD is a nov b'day hopefully leaves November as her month- all going to plan at least, babies obviously arrive when they decide to.

So it's on to the next cycle, although the wait from AF to ov is endless and you will it to get a move on I find myself much more productive and focused during this 2 weeks than the 2ww. Just less dreamy I suppose, that's a bit of a crap pma point though. I'm sure at least 3 glasses of wine tonight will help me come up with a few more pma thoughts.

Come on ladies, a BFP please to help us all along!!

Have a great Friday everyone! Xxx

    Its f-f-f-f-f-f-friday tho ladies :j:j

Surely that should perk you all up??

Anybody got any plans for the weekend?

I think we are going to the seaside tomorrow if the weather stays nice.

Sunday is meant to be my friends baby shower, but she has just popped to see me to say she is going in to hospital and they might have to do a c-section today. Think there are some problems, they think either placenta previa or maybe twins!!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: Tis a bit late in the day to be saying twins seeing as she is due in 2 weeks time!!! Am quite excited now tho. Have been feeling quite jealous of her bump and worried how I cope with the baby etc. :o But now it might be coming I'm ever so giddy :j:j

Feel a bit low today. My OH is taking his car to be sold tomorrow and stupid as it sounds, I feel really bad about it. It's a luxury we really can't afford atm, it was his decision, and I know it shouldn't bother me but I feel like I'm letting him down. Maybe if I'd got on his case sooner about his debt he wouldn't be in this position.

Also I really wanted us to have a BFP by the time the car went so we had something to look forward to and there was a real 'need' for the extra moey, iyswim.

Now it's just no car, no baby, no money.
