I'm following that instruction - I don't drink very much in the afternoon at work, or go to the loo, then when I have my home-from-work-pee at about 6.15 I use the OPK. But mine do also say that you should leave it in a pot for 20 minutes to bring it down to room temperature before testing. Does anyone actually do that?!

I don't. I use the Boots branded ones, and they don't ask for it. I don't think you need to hold, just don't drink too much in the afternoon.

For you ladies with PCOS, who are struggling with weight issues, have you looked into the GL eating plan to control your glucose intolerance? I only asked cause the doctor mentioned it to me as a treatment option when they were testing me for it. I actually bought a book on managing pcos through GL. Its not something i plan to do and the book is getting in my way, so if any of you guys want it, pm me and i'll send it.

I've had nothing really to add for the last few days, still waiting for OV... yawn!

My SIL is having her 12 week scan today, my Mum asked us to go round for tea tonight as SIL and Brother will be there but OH has begged me to make our excuses not to go, he's still taking it really hard bless him. We were talking last night and he says that although he's happy for them and excited about being an uncle he won't be able to hide his jealousy from them because he wants his own baby so badly. :o He was also wittering that I shouldn't have 'dithered' about coming off the pill for the 2/3 weeks after we got back from our honeymoon, I had to remind him that it really wouldn't have made a fat lot of difference to my annoyingly long cycles and he should have agreed to me coming off the pill in the summer when I suggested it 'just in case it take a while for my body to get back to normal!'. Ah well, hindsight is 20/20! ;)

Speaking of 20/20 vision, I'm getting my eyes lasered in a couple of weeks (hopefully, once work agree the time off!). I worried a bit as they said they wouldn't do it if I was PG of BF so asked the Optometrist about TTC and the slim chance of getting a BFP by the time I had treatment and he winked and said, 'Ahhh.... but until you've got a huge bump we don't know that you're PG so we'd still be able to go ahead with it!' :p He assured me that it'd be OK if I was early days but was still keen to get me in earlier rather than later just in case! Otherwise I'd have to wait until I'd finished BFing which could be I don't know how long and the whole point of getting it done now is to be able to see for nighttime feeds and generally avoiding constantly having baby fingerprints all over my glasses! :)

Sorry, just a rant, completely non ttc related, but I am steaming.

Those who have been trying for a while might remember my saga of my awful trip to visit my parents over Christmas which culminated with my mother crashing into my (parked) hire car at high speed causing about £1000 worth of damage. It was parked a good 200 yards from her car, but she got into hers and did a three point turn at high speed and reversed into the back of mine, and didn't tell us what she had done until we went out later and noticed the extensive damage.

She has just phoned me to complain that her insurance premium has gone up by £250 this year because the hire company has claimed for the damage from her insurance, and what do I propose to do about this, as she can't afford the higher premiums from here on in, and also hasn't told my father about the accident and he will now find out

I am a SAHM so what she really wants is for my OH to pay the increased premiums for her every year until she stops driving (she is in her early 80's so that day is possibly not far off). I don't really see why I should ask him to do that. It probably would have been cheaper for us just to pay to have the damage to the hire car fixed ourselves at the time, than several years of higher premiums for her, and she didn't help herself by cracking lots of jokes to her friends in the few days beforehand about how bad a driver I was because I was nervous about driving a much bigger car than I am used to in a strange city (the hire car was a Picnic so massive)

I remember that Nicki, how annoying :( I'd be tempted to point Mother in the direction of Confused.com and tell her that there's no way you can afford to pay for her mistakes. If she can't afford the premuims then it'd save her even more money to sell the car and stop driving. :)

Aaargh, Nicki, SO sorry... I remember the saga.... don't really know what to suggest other than to say you are well within your rights to be furious about it.

    Hi all,

I did post on this page long time ago but being inactive after that because we were trying so hard and not getting anywhere.

Anyhow, I am a bit excited today because my AF is not due until 10th of this month and I had some AF like cramps on tuesday (06 of March) and yesterday night i had some blood spots very light not at all like my AF browinsh colour and just a few drops. if it was AF it might have being full blown by today.

I did a pregnancy test but came out negative I am wondering could this be implantation bleeding.

    Can some one help ??

if it was implantation bleeding, then it takes a few days from implantation for the to be sufficient levels of HCG in your whizz. so i'd say test again on saturday if you can wait that long :) x x
