Results to what tests? Is this about the abnormal smear etc?

Yes, it’s the 6 months from when I had the treatment to remove the pre-cancerous cells. I guess I’m worried that there’s going to be more and then worried that if I need cells removed again I might end up with the ridiculous bleeding afterwards too.

I know I just need to not worry about it as it’s unlikely to be a problem again already but in practice I know what I’m like.

I can completely relate to this, FA.:(

For me something eventually just clicked/snapped for me and I just had to deal with it. I did think that once your treatment bleeding stopped and your DH was back on form it might feel like there was a point to getting on with the diet again, for you, but for me what really kicked me into action was the GTT results, which frankly scared me. I know what it's been like for MIL dealing with diabetes (although, granted, appallingly managed diabetes at that) and it's complications, and I really don't want that for myself. :o

ETA: I still have blips, where I just cba with it, but as soon as I get back with the programme and see some results, it makes me feel better. :o

Have you had a GTT yet?

I also thought that I’d just get on with it once the bleeding stopped and hubby was back on form. I don’t know whether I’m dragging my feet because of the 6 month check up or what. I had started following WW again and was slowly losing weight but over the past few weeks that’s all gone to pot again. If I think about it I think it all went to pot when I had that heavy period as I started panicking that the crazy bleeding had come back.

Another thing is that I’m really finding it difficult to lose weight this time around. I think my PCOS has got worse since the last time I lose weight (a few years ago when I was on the pill). I’ve noticed an increase of hair and it would maybe make sense as to why I’m struggling to lose the weight this time around. I never actually increased my metformin so maybe I should get around to doing that as that will probably help.

I’ve not had a GTT and I’m not sure the doctors would bother arranging one for me as I’m already on the metformin – which I think is what they’d prescribe to remedy the problem.

I know that I’m the only one that can fix the problem. I just need to get my act together, stop making excuses (or using life’s curveballs as excuses) and get on with it.

Hugs to all going through a tough time.

Flee - hope the relaxed approach works for you. When you say taking a break, is your cycle regular enough to be able to extra BD around ov without all the testing/ temping stress?

I say that because I have a fairly regular cycle & based on what I have learnt from this forum & monitoring my cycle over the last 6 months, I know that if we BD from day 11 for 5 consecutive days we are highly likely to be at the right time.

I'm not saying that's highly likely to result in a pg!

I have a regular cycle and can easily predict when I ovulate. I am just fed up of seeing negative pregnancy tests and having weird periods too.

Hi fanny. I don't know if this is of interest to you at all, but I have an online friend on a TTC after miscarriage forum which I post on, whose BMI was well outside the range where IVF or fertility help was an option. Her BMI was 42 and she was completely overwhelmed by the prospect of trying to get it down to below 35 which was her FS's demand before he would start her on clomid.

The FS suggested she try the Lighter Life programme as a very quick way of getting the weight off in a way which would not prevent her from TTC at the same time (although it is very low calorie it is also carefully medically balanced apparently) and said he would see her in 6 months when she needed to have lost in excess of 3 stone. She ummed and ahed but decided to bite the bullet, and is coming up to the end of her first month and has already lost more than a stone and a half, and is also about to hit the target of losing 10% of her body weight which is said to be significant in having fertility return. She is another PCOSer by the way. The first 5 days were tough, but she is now coping very well with it, and every week she packs away a new bag of clothes which are now falling off her ;)

I know it's not for everyone but I thought I'd mention it, even as a kick start, as it isn't apparently contraindicated for women TTC, though would be adapted if you did conceive, and is a quicker way of getting to your goal than many of the other conventional plans.

I have done Lighterlife & lost about 4 stone in 5 months. Did it 4 years ago (put it back on since & then lost 2 of it again). Once I was into the swing, I was OK with it. I found one of the hardest parts was how to socialise without food & drink being involved!

Would recommend it though - but like any weight loss you need to stay with it.

The motivation of clearning out clothes every couple of weeks was a good one (although could have got costly).

hello ladies. I am new to this thread, and am still part of the miscarriage support thread. I had my MC around 7 weeks ago now and had surgery. That was my first baby as well.

I am taking my time to recover but am finding myself very tired still and lacking energy. I have had my first period but more than anything now, I want to and am ready to start preparing myself to try again and want to make sure I eat well and exercise and am not overweight. I am slightly overweight and need to eat better. I havent gone back to the gym yet so that is the first step too. Just need that energy back so I know I am 100% ready. Def ready mentally to try with hubby. Any tips will be very much appreciated. Thanks so much. xx:)

So sorry to hear about your miscarriage.

Hope you will enjoy your time on this thread - feel free to ask away with any questions, we are a friendly bunch :)

Sounds like you are really positive at the moment - going back to the gym and eating well will I'm sure be a boost to energy levels.

Hi rups. Sorry to hear of your loss. I can't answer your question, but welcome to the thread

FA, personally I have issues with plans like Lighter Life - long term - because they're not sustainable for ever, I don't think, and often people inevitably put the weight back on that they lost unless they find a way to work that calorie and nutrition level into their daily lives long term. I definitely recognise the short term benefit, and the boost you get from that initial fast loss, though... Whatever plan you decide to go with, I wish you all the best - you know that :) You're still welcome to PM me any time too, of course :)

Flee - hugs, I hope stepping away may take the pressure off and you get your BFP. You are welcome back anytime and when you get your BFP you have to let us know, it is the law!

Couldn't have put it better myself! Thanks for letting us know, Flee, we'll miss you on here, but do pop back and let us know how you are doing if/when you want to :)

:wave: Hi Rups. You know me already from the miscarriage thread. Still on this one after my loss in September sigh! But kitten pie is right, the girls here are lovely. If it wasn't for the fact that I really really want another BFP, I'd be happy to stay here forever :)

Hi Rups, so sorry for your loss but welcome to the thread.

Fannyanna - I had abnormal cells removed about 4 years ago and had 6 monthly smears after some of which still showed borderline changes but didn't have to go back to hospital until I had 2 on a trot and then it was just a check up. I am now on yearly smear tests and luckily haven't needed any more treatment. What I am trying to say is I understand how worrying it is to wait for the next test results but even if it does show something up it doesn't mean you will need more treatment.
