Thank you for all your kind words ladies.
I am still reading everyday and have been sad that there are so many of you wonderful fabulous ladies who are struggling. I'm sending so many beanie vibes to all of you. You are the nicest bunch of ladies I've ever "met" and I'm wishing each and everyone of you get your forever babies really really soon
Love to you all
xx
really good to hear from you emsbet, i think you had just got your bfp when i first posted on the ttc board.
Even though i shouldnt i sometimes pop over to the before 12 week board to have a look (its like looking in the lovely lounges at the airport to see what they have going on) and saw the other day you were waiting for your scan, its just lovely hearing good news back.
hope everything goes smoothly for you, i still have a quote stuck in my head you had said about there being no point in worrying until something happens to worry about (or something along those lines) im hoping ill have a chance to use that as my mantra as well.
wishing you all the best!0 -
BZ, I completely understand your OH, my biggest fear is that I won't be around when my kids are growing up cause I'm too old. And I symphatize with you as well, what can you say to that?
Emsbet, I read the post yesterday, huge congratulations, so happy for you!!!
QQ, I'm 0DPO. Finally. Got my peak this morning and we manage to BD last night and this morning as well. Last night I said to OH that it would be great if we could perform as ovulation is due anytime, and this morning he woke up and asked: so do you need those sperms this morning as well?
Can I ask a question? When you get your peak, does it mean that that's the right time to BD or is it better when you do it before? I mean I know you are highly fertile beforehand but does the sperm gets to the egg on time if you do it on your peak or you have bigger chance a day before? Sorry if it's a stupid question but I honestly don't know.0 -
kavics, your peak on CBFM is not necessarily the day you ovulate. It is what it says, your two most fertile days of the month. So these are the two best days to BD. Most people seem to actually ovulate on the second day of the peak, so if you were also temping, you would tend to see the temperature rise on the high day following the two peak days.
If you managed to BD on both peak days and on the high day, it is most likely that you would have all of the following:
- day old sperm waiting around the correct area as the egg is released (some of which will have died, but others will be preserved by your fertile CM)
- fresh sperm reaching the egg just as it is released from the ovary (most of which will be live and kicking)
- fresh sperm chasing your egg down the fallopian tube (there is about a 12 hour window after the egg is released where it is still fertilisable and fast sperm can catch it lol)
When you BD on the high days before your peak there is still an outside chance of conception. Sperm can survive a maximum of 5 days before ovulation provided you have fertile mucus for the whole of this period but the reality is that most die off within 2-3 days of release even in favourable conditions. So a BD the day before your first peak would also be helpful but not likely to be as successful as on one of your actual peak days.0 -

Obviously I don't know you as I'm a newbie, but you seem lovely and I'm very happy you got your bfp and things are going well.
I hope everybody here can join you soon
Sorry about your MIL bigzippy, and that you and your hubby are finding things hard at the moment. Don't know what you can say to him but I like cleo's idea. Big hugs.0 -
Morning all, on a course in London today so it's nice to get out of the office every once in a while.
BZ - hugs - it is good that DH wants a baby as much as you. It is one of my dh's biggest fears as he is 47 and has said that he doesn't want to be an old dad who isn't around. All we can do is keep trying and pray it happens for us soon.0 -
I'm sure there are too. I haven't had anything confirmed, but it is a concern of mine. Are you under a consultant for it? How has it been managed up til now? The PCOS in and of itself isn't insurmountable - many ladies have it and don't even know about it, conceiving now (I forget the statistics now). I can't remember how old you are, how long you've been trying, how long ago you were on contraception (I'm assuming you were put on medication to stop your cycles to minimise the endo?), or anything like that
Are there any factors that may exacerbate it, excess sugar intake, excess weight, etc that you could do something about that would make you feel a bit more in control? Are you on metformin?
I'm generally quiet at the minute guys. Spent last night at the hospital with MIL again, and now there's talk of whether an amputation may be on the cards... it's a lot to get our heads around.
 to all
BZ - thank you so much for taking the time to post when you have so much going on atm. There's not much I can say but big hugs to you, your OH and your MIL, am thinking of you all xx.
Wrt the endo and PCOS. I've had loads of treatment for endo, but nothing for PCOS. The endo has caused me lots of problems though, so guess that's understandable. In the last 5 years have had 4 laps, 2 lots of prostap, one of dimetriose and years on microgynon.... oh, and a constant supply of painkillers! Have been off the pill for a couple of years now, although there has been surgery in that time so we haven't been properly trying as such for the whole time.
I've just turned 33, OH is v close to 40. My weight's ok, although I could definitely cut down the sugar intake!!Have completely stopped using diclofenac and ibuprofen but am starting to wonder if all the codiene isn't helping.
The PCOS hasn't been mentioned since the endo diagnosis. When I was first undergoing all the tests for the constant pain, they did some blood tests and diagnosed PCOS but I wasn't really told anything else, just that it was there. A few months after that I had my first lap and since then everything's been focused on sorting the endo.
Am seeing my GP on monday so hopefully will get some answers then. Like you say, I just want to feel like I'm doing something.
Thanks again for all the advice and support. I'm not sure you all realise what a massive help and blessing you all are. Big hugs ladies, and here's to a good day for us all xx.0 -
My husband (on the way home from a relatively stressful hospital visit!) was telling me - out of the blue - how he really really wants a baby, he's gutted it's not happening, he's terrified of being too old and not being around to see his kids living their lives (bearing in mind his mum is basically dying and is only mid 60s) - said it stops him sleeping, he thinks about it all the time, it's getting him down and stressing him out.
What am I supposed to say to that? I can totally relate...but that doesn't help the matter!
On the one hand it's really sweet that he wants this baby so much (I knew it anyway, he'll make a brilliant dad, but it's nice to be confirmed). On the other, it tears me apart that I can't soothe him or make it better by being more fertile
Aww bigzippy, I had the same talk with my DH, we want at least 3 (fx) and really want to complete our family before we get too old!
I hope you get ur OH gets his wish soon, he sounds like he'll be a really caring dad xxWe got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic.

wondering if anyone is able to answer a couple of questions im really confused what my body is up to and need a bit of advice.
i thought i had probably ov at the weekend because of how my cm was looking like on friday, i didnt manage to do any opks though and the opk i did on monday had a test line but it was faint (so -ve) so again i thought i had ov sometime over the weekend and i was catching the tail end of the hormone on the opk on the monday.
however to throw a spanner in the works, i did a opk yesterday afternoon granted my wee was more concentrated and the opk was def a positive, the test line was obviously darker than the control line (as it was the most obviously +ve opk ive had since doing them) but in terms of any cm nothing at all.
so what do i take notice of? my cm or the opk? in terms of making a note of when i might have or had ov?
if i go by the +ve opk yesterday am i right in thinking it means i probably would ov in the next coule of days?
we b'd monday, because i thought if i had ov on the weekend we would hopefully try and catch it, did it yesterday as well because of the +ve opk and again this morning (caught oh in a good mood) to be safe as well. But do we still keep going a couple more days as well? its probably pushing it 3 days in a row for oh as it is :rotfl:
Also as well im cd 18 today i think and all these fertility calculators online put my ov happening a lot earlier than now, am i late to be ov now in a 31 day cycle?
do we keep on bd a couple of days to make sure we catch the eggy? i feel like we are caught in a revolving ground hog day of bd,where i wake up every morning and i tell oh we have to bd again 'just in case'. Ill do another opk this afternoon so hopefully that might give me a bit more of an idea.
thanks for listening to my confused worries0 -
Guys I am going to take a step back from TTCing for a few months. I am not getting anywhere and feel so pressurised. I am not temping or checking anything this month. All in the hands of mother nature for now.

Cleo - if it was me I would bd today and probably tomorrow just to make sure. Cd18 is not too late to ov as only need a luteal phase between ov and af of between 10 and 14 days.0
