    Hello Ladies.

I have a dilema - wondered if you would mind helping me out with?

My DD has just come back from her dads, and he phoned with a handover report like we always do.

He is getting married about this time next year, which I have known about for a while now. We always try to communicate with each other for our daughters sake, and bring up anything like engagements, marriages, babies etc so that we hear it from each other first and not through our daughter or through idle gossip.

He had booked the wedding locally, and was having a honeymoon without the kids (he also has a son with his wife to be) afterwards when DD would have been in my custody anyway.

He has just asked if he can take our daughter out of school for over a week in term time as the wedding venue he had chosen had fallen through, and now he wants to get married in Cuba or Mexico.

My initial reaction is to say no, as we had always agreed that any holidays should be in school holiday time.

The school would give permission if consent was asked for in writing and it was for a close family members wedding.

I got married last year, and I arranged my wedding and honeymoon (which my daughter came on too seeing as it was our main holiday for the year) in school holiday time.

I don't want to be petty or dismiss it without thinking it through.

He says the difference in cost between term time and school holidays is £8000 and they wouldn't be able to do it in the school holidays (because of the cost).

Hmmm, I don't know. On the one hand I think that obviously she has to attend her dad's wedding, and it will be a lovely experience for her, and its only 1 week out of term time and she will catch up soon enough.

But on the other hand, I don't really agree with term time holidays, she has 100% attendence which I would like her to keep, I would worry about her missing school, its not ever something that I would do and it is always something that me and her dad agreed we would never do. I am kind of thinking that they should either go in school holidays and either save up/ or change location.

She is coming up 6 now, so she would be coming up 7 next year when it is due to happen.

Another part of me thinks I am over thinking this, as it may not even come off. He has said before that he is going to take her to Disneyworld in America and that never came off, so it might be another situation like that... :o

Just would like some other opinions if possible on what you would do? Thanks.

For all you symptoms spotters out there, I have to saying, taking time off ttc has made me realise how much you really do read into them.

If we had actually Bded this month I would be thinking I was pg now. Im 13dpo, and no spotting which is very unusual. Had a few cramps/twinges going on the other day - so I prob would have imagined that was some kind of implantation happening. And my temp hasnt dropped whatsoever which is also strange.

Now it may be that Ive just ov 2 days later than FF thinks - as it was a bit unclear this month. But still, it has made me realise that all these twinges and stuff like cramping or whatever, clearly mean nothing!! So hopefully when I start to ttc again, I will try not to SS so much.

Abis, I'd let your DD go to your ex's wedding, I know it's school time and 100% attendance record will go, but your DD may resent you if you didn't let her go:o

Hi there, I am using fertilityfriend to track my temp every month. On Sunday morning when I woke up, I took my temperature after lying awake in bed for an hour and it had dipped below my coverline.

Flo then arrived at around 2am on Monday morning, although just a tiny, tiny streak of blood. I then went to bed and when I woke up Monday morning, Flo started as normal.

What day should I put in fertilityfriend as the day Flo started, Sunday or Monday?

We weren't TTC this month, so totally expected although was not due until Monday/Tuesday.

Thanks QQ. I didn't think about that aspect of it and you're right of course.

My DD's first response (she heard the phone conversation) was to cry and say she didn't want to miss out on 100% attendence. They make a massive thing of it at her school as they were on notice to improve for ofsted - one of the main reasons being for attendence. So not there are all sorts of charts and rewards etc for 100% attendence.

Obviously, she doesn't understand the larger picture, so it'll be up to the grown ups to decide for her.

I don't think I am very comfortable with it. And I know I would have never asked for the same of my ex. But if thats what they are set on for the wedding then I am gonna have to go with it aren't I?

Sometimes it sucks being the grown up sensible parent as if the situations were reversed I would not get a similar response. :o I had to have my honeymoon 3 weeks after my wedding as my ex wouldn't swap weekends round.

    Anyways, back to TTC talk.

Hugs for the CD1 ladies :(

Aida - I am loving your new smileys. :j Yep - 32 things on ebay. I am v proud of me :D Just gonna list some more now as well. I'm on a roll, lol!!

Cupid - I told my best friend and that was all to begin with. My DD now knows we are 'hoping to have a baby come into my tummy' as she kept nagging at DH to let us have one :rotfl: And in the past month I have told some other friends as and when conversations have come about. I don't like to bring it up as such, but if someone asks a direct question about it I aren't going to start fibbing.

Roses, you count CD1 as when it is full flow not just spotting, so think that would be monday for you?

    hi everyone,
been back off holiday now just over a week and finally managed to catch up on the pile of clothes washing we had!

its been a bit of a hit and miss month here with me, if it wasnt for QQ's list i wouldnt even know what day i was on!

we started off really well (well for us anyhow!) i thought we would try the every 2-3 days thing but more emphasis on the 3 days as oh is normally a weekend type of guy.But i think we started a bit too soon though.

also Been keeping an eye out at my cm this month to see if i could tell the difference (sorry for the tmi ) well on friday (think i would have been 13cd) it was very wet and when i had a test it was also very slippery between my fingers as well with no stretch and opk was -ve.

that is the first time ive seen anything that closely resembles anything like the photos (was hoping i maybe would get to see the lesser spotted ewcm!) and so on friday i thought right we will bd tonight(following the 3 day timing) just in case and keep checking saturday onwards but it didnt happen that way and me and the oh had a big argument and we didnt speak all weekend! :( only just made up today and i was in such a rotten mood i thought tough im not going to test with a opk on saturday and sunday because if its positive its just going to make me feel even worse that ive missed it.

ive tested today and there are 2 lines on the opk the test line is very faint though (so techically -ve) whereas before the weekend all i was getting was the control line so i think it might be the tail end of ov showing up :(and my cm isnt as wet and no stretch in it or anything so it think it might mean i ov over the weekend and we missed it :(:(

cant believe it! we havent argued and not spoken like that for years and im normally the one who makes up because i hate a bad atmosphere in the house, but this time i just thought tough im not being the one to make up!

so me and oh are now talking and ive told him that i think we missed ov when 'we' had the argument and will have to make sure we get a bd session in for tonight just as a safety one :) but to be honest it might be the case of too little too late.

but hey ho, cant believe how excited i got with my cm on friday i feel somewhat normal as ive heard all you guys talking about cm on here and i never seem to have got it before so hopefully i can have another thing to look at next month to find out the timing :T

before all this when i was still in america and just after af arrived i ordered a cbfm from ebay and it took a while to get here, i knew i would have missed it to use this month anyway as i was past 5cd but it turned up over the weekend when we werent talking and it just added to the whole grr we have missed ovulation argument thing that we had going on.

so trying to be positive i will have a new toy to play with next month plus ive found my cm!! and will be cm spotting next month for the ewcm!

sorry for the mega long post but needed to get it out. Talked to my oh and he still cant get his head around only a couple of days each month count, like someone else said before in an earlier post i think my oh thinks if your not on your period your fertile the whole time! :( oh if only!

right im going to catch up on some posts i missed since ive been away.

hope everyone is having a lovely monday.
  • By the sounds of things, my neighbours have had their baby (Due 17th March)... Also today I've had a cousin posting a 'side on' picture of her 29 week bump, and my friend's tweeting about bump kicking a lot today.

I know we're only at the beginning of our journey, but still gets to you, doesn't it??? Plus my arm is hurting like a b1tch after having the implant out!

Welcome back Dibbdabs:wave: Which CD are you?
And how is your CBFM trial going? Is your fridge full of pee? And do you need to send them to CBFM one of these days?

Sorry if this has been asked/answered before:o

Make sure you are taking folic acid every day, and BD every other day from CD10-20:D

Well said, I want mine asap:cool:
Whereabouts are you going on your holiday?:)
Off skiing. Hopefully good timing in that AF will have been and just back around CD10 for plenty of action. Don't think we will get chance whilst away due to sharing a chalet.

Make him sweat ! Remind him that he has not been helpful in the past.

But ultimately you wouldn't want her to miss it.

That said, I would have thought he could do t Florida and deliver on that promise!
