  • Just popped in to say thanks to Nicki about the info on coeliac disease. I've not been trying this month in case that's what I've got and it's just as well as after a second blood test I've been asked to go back to the doctor. The first appointment I can get is next Thursday. Guess I will need further tests to find out what's wrong with me and I'm worried already about what it might be that I have.

Saw my mum earlier in the week and spoke to her about having another blood test and what it was for and she didn't seem to be the least bit interested. DH agreed. So I can't even talk to her about it.
I will text one of friends later.

Sorry to just pop in with doom and gloom, guess I just needed to write that down. Stuck at work and no one to talk to.

Haven't read back yet, can't remember when I last posted, maybe last Fri? Bet you lot have been jabbering away loads! :p

Oooh lemon melon, I'm so excited for you! Course you're not kidding yourself, double the hcg one day to the next! :D I'm hoping this is it for you, after everything you've been going through :D

Lily, I hope you get helpful information from your tests and results. Every time I have tests I'm less scared of them finding something, as I am of them NOT finding something, cos for me the not knowing/being able to treat is worse. Good luck anyway :)

    Ilovecushions...where are you?

    to all

What do people class cm that can only be described as snotty, on ff? My cervix is moving up, etc, and the cm's betting more abundant and stretchier, but doesn't class as watery or ewcm in my mind...?

How would you feel if it did turn out to be coeliac disease, Lily? I have 3 friends who have it, all diagnosed in their 30's or later, though one (my friend who had IVF) when she was diagnosed later found out that her mother had been told when she was a baby that she was gluten intolerant but had ignored it as too much bother and never told her . All 3 have said that since they found out and changed to a gluten free diet, they feel amazing.

The downside is that the diet is quite restrictive and makes eating out tricky sometimes. Also most coeliacs tend to previously have eaten a lot of the kinds of things which are bad for them, because part of the condition is to crave what is doing you harm. But the plus side, is that you can solve a lot of quite unpleasant and debilitating health conditions without having to resort to daily medication, which is quite liberating. And that you know that the unpleasant symptoms haven't been caused by anything far more sinister.

Keep us posted on how it goes. I hope whatever diagnosis that you get, that it is something which can be kept under control relatively easily, and I guess in the final analysis its better to know rather than not know if there is any kind of medical problem so you can start making decisions about what to do about it?

EWCM is described on some sites as cervical snot :rotfl:. If you think about an egg white, it is quite viscous and thick, so if its stretchy, slippery and gloopy, then its EWCM. If its thin and slippery, it is watery. If it doesn't stretch but is quite slippery, then its creamy, and if its sticky, its sticky :D

He's done his back in and I quote "because I tried to lift you and you're heavier than you look, do you reckon if you were 6 ft you'd be normal cos you weight would be elongated out over a better height because to be frank - I didnt think you'd be such a chunk to do my back in."

Hi Guys, well we are TTC for no.2 but this week i am a little worried if we have succeeded as I had an asthma attack on Monday and have been put on a very high dose of anti-biotics and steriods in order just to breath. I am hoping that either way everything will be ok, I would be a useless mummy if i couldn't breath! My LO has been great, and my OH has been absolutley amazing looking after us both. On the mend now, but drugs for a few more days.

Good luck to all testing and may there be some sticky TLPs :)

Hi Leopardlady. You could check with your local pharmacist whether what you have taken would be problematic in early pregnancy. That might put your mind at rest. I suspect the steroids would be fine, as I know these are sometimes prescribed to ladies with recurrent miscarriage. Some antibiotics are also fine, but others aren't and some of these stay in your system for a while, and you need to be careful not to conceive until they are out.
