Fannyanna I use fertility friend to track my temperatures with a thermometer. I did use conceive plus but this month I have not used it as much. I used the cough medicine this month to help cm. U should have colic acid and also b6 for hormone control.

Time2deal - fingers crossed for a different outcome this month

Mrsj - it's horrible feeling like you are on hold when af doesn't show but still getting bfn. Hugs and hope irrational behaviour is BFP sign rather than af sign

Fannyanna - i did use conceive plus but this cycle I took cough medicine instead and I did notice increase in ewcm at ov time and I also take folic acid every day. I use a cbfm as I like the forewarning of ov soni can ensure that our bding is well timed.

    Thanks ladies.

I have vitamin B complex - which has B6 and I think it also has folic acid.

With regards to the cough mixture how much do you take? What cough mixture do you use? Do you have to take it at a certain time? TMI but I appreciate it helps if you're not moist enough but can being too moist end up being a problem?

For when we're able to get back into the swing of things again I have seriously been considering CBFM (as OPKs are a bit of a pain as I'd had to do them at work and I find temping a pain in the butt) but I'm worried that it wouldn't work too well for me because of the PCOS. It's quite an expensive gadget to buy if it's not going to work for me.

(((hugs))) I hate long cycles too:(
ETA: Now feeling hopeful that AF is imminent because I am feeling so grumpy today (and had a mini meltdown last night because DH used one of the towels I'd just washed.... that kind of behaviour's got to be a sure sign of AF arriving any day now :rotfl:)

What things do you ladies take or use to try and get your BFP?

So for example to track ovulation etc you can use CBFM, OPK's, temping, CM checking.

Then there's the things like drinking grapefruit juice (can't remember what that does), cough mixture (I think for CM), pre-seed and vitamins - folic acid, vitamin B complex, agnus castus etc.
Are you really going to try all that?:D

You should definitely take folic acid, and do cm checking but other than that, it's entirely up to you:D

Depending on how desperate you are, this is the order of the things you listed:

Temp and cm checking, Vit B complex and folic acid = all the time.
Agnus castus = AF to ov
Small glass of grapefruit juice or cough meds (with guaifenesin only, no decongestant) = About a week before ov 'till ov
Preseed/Conceive Plus = When BDing near ov

As for OPKs, CBFM tracks estrogen as well as LH, so it can give you advance warning of the LH surge.

OPKs from CD6 (unless you are sure you ov late).

Don't take Vit B if you have thyroid probs (are you thin?).

I'm thinking about the things to consume. I'll do vit B complex (which has folic acid) which I did before anyway.

I'm seriously considering doing Agnus Castus but I don't really know how much you're supposed to take. I've seen 400mg mentioned somewhere else. I also need to check that it's ok to take alongside Metformin.

I'm then also thinking about grapefruit and cough mixture should I ever see the day where I ovulate

I took it about 3 times a day on max dosage stated on the bottle, but it's up to you. It is supposed to make cm runny to make it easier for the swimmers to swim:o

If it doesn't work, you can always sell it on.
Does OPKs work for you? If it does, then chances are CBFM will too.

Some people with PCOS have high LH all the time, and that can give you false positives. In which case, you need to get opks that are less sensitive.

CBFM have worked for me every time, but it's just once a day. I usually do OPKs in conjunction with CBFM, as LH usually surges in the afternoon, so it'll catch it earlier than CBFM (FMU only).

Having said that, I'm not doing any more OPKs or CBFM this cycle. I think I may even forget about temping (no DH or IVF)

I think they do in the sense that I've never had a positive - don't think I've ever ovulated.

Having said that I'm seriously wondering whether I ovulated in the build up to the AF. I had sore nipples and pain in my ovaries which doesn't really happen with me. I'm wondering if the mega bleed somehow kick started something. Far TMI but ever since I stopped bleeding I noticed I was quite moist and that's also made me thing that it might have had something to do with ovulation.
  • fannyanna - I just take folic acid at the moment.

And for the record 2ba3c, I get that bum pain too, glad it's not just me. :o No idea what it is though! :p

Fingers crossed the mega bleed kick started ov:)

As for being moist, one can have fertile looking cm mid 2ww and near AF, so that may be it.

As you are CD1, I'd assume it's just a fertile looking cm, but hopefully the real one is 2 weeks away:)
