Hugs for BFN to Tealover and MrsJ28. And good luck with the SA later MRs j28.

Hello Candlewax - hope your stay is short and successful here.

I'm booking a ski holiday to cheer up my PMS (it'll be in the week after I ov this month.) I too have left it till the last minute but there are some good deals out there. The only problem is, we invited another couple to join us as we thought they'd be fun. They've now gone and mentioned it to other friends who want to come but they all have kids! How annoying. Don't think we'll be able to say no without being rude but A) It'll remind me I don't have any and most of the girls are 5 yrs younger than me with 2 kids already and B) we'll have to find a resort that looks after kiddies which means it won't be as fun on the drinking or the skiing front.

    Harumph!

Hope at least one of us gets a valeting bfp, that would be awesome!

    Xx

Ha ha I love auto correct sometimes! Particularly this time, as for the first time ever last month I decided to brave waxing in that area to help get things in the mood - so if we had got a BFP this month, it could perhaps have been a valeted one :rotfl::rotfl:

I know what people mean about sometimes finding pregnant ladies hard at the moment. I found it worst in the first few months after the miscarriage, but even now sometimes have a pang. And that is with a 2 and a half year old I can cuddle who still feels baby like.

Am off for a smear this morning, which isn't exactly getting me in the mood for action tonight. With the same doctor I saw when I miscarried as well, so hope there won't be too much discussion about how ttc again is going. For Butterfly, I think I might be the oldest one on here, as I am 43, but I did miscarry in September last year, two months before my birthday, so I am hoping I am still able to conceive.

For Valentines day, DH is away all day on business and left at 4.00 am this morning. When I woke he had left me a huge bunch of red roses and a card, and he is cooking tonight, though the kids have investigated the food he has bought and are trying to lay claim on the good bits. He has planned a romantic meal for 2, but my DS1 has already planned in his own head that he is going to serenade us on his violin (he is grade 1 ) and that he will dress up and play the waiter. Am not sure this is at all what DH had in mind but it could be hysterical!

    Morning ladies :)
Last week I ordered Miriam Stoppard's book Conception, Pregnancy and Birth: The Childbirth Bible for Today's Parents, which arrived yesterday, so I spent the evening reading it. I thought it was quite a good general guide, although her focus is a little strange in places, and I didn't agree with some of her dietary advice. Very informative though, picked up lots of stuff I didn't know before.

The section on conception really wasn't v detailed though, I think I've picked up more info lurking on here :p

CD10 for me, starting OPKs this evening.

I dont believe it, just found out that girl in my team at work is pregnant, what with her and my Sil there is going to be no escape from it  just been to the loo at work and had a good cry :( it just doesn't seem fair :(
  • BFN for me today, AF not due till Friday though. I'm a bit ambiguous about getting a BFP tomorrow as although I would be absolutely ecstatic , one of my best friends is coming over for a bottle of wine tomorrow night so we can have a chat as she had a miscarriage on Friday :( I would have to tell her as I wouldn't be able to drink and it would feel like I was rubbing her face in it. I feel bad for being jealous when she told me she was pregnant. Hopefully we will both get our forever babies in the next year. :)

Had a fantastic weekend away with DD, mum, dad and granny got home late last night and absolutely shattered now. Got to see the london eye at last though. DD is away today skiing with the school till Friday so the house will be very peaceful this week ;) me and OH are going out for a meal tonight for valentines day but I'm thinking of cancelling and getting a takeaway. He's knackered too, it's tiring having a weekend partying with his mates :D

  • Trying to conceive is not an easy journey and it’s made harder with the fact that you never know when you are going to get there or if you are even half way there yet. It’s harder still when others you know find their journey quick and easy and they seem to do it without taking wrong turns or needing to stop to re-fuel or ask for directions, harder still if those acquaintances found themselves on that road when it wasn’t a deliberate decision to make that particular journey.

Our journey may be long or short, uphill or downhill all the way. We might end up taking the scenic route when we would rather be on the motorway, but it is still a journey and that journey isn’t over until we reach that destination, but when we get there (and we will) we will know that every mile was so very worth it and the time we spent travelling will not seem quite such a big deal.

So while on the way try to smile, turn up the radio and roll down the window, breathe in that lovely fresh air and take a moment to look at the scenery. Appreciate that travelling companion you have, he loves you more than anything else in the world, he chose to make that journey with you and he is trying as hard as you to make that journey worthwhile, even if sometimes you can’t quite see it.

We are praying that whether we are driving a super new sports car or an old banger, that it will get us there eventually. I know it’s hard and we are all in a hurry, but can you see that beautiful horizon in the distance? That is our destination, dont let it slip out of view. Put your foot down, but watch where you’re going, you want to arrive safe and sound and not too weary from the journey so take a few little rests along the way.

I will wave at you as we drive along those roads for you can understand that we may pass each other or drive side by side for a bit. We may take wrong turns and have to go back a bit and look at the map again, but we will get there eventually.

Nicki my DH spelt Valentines wrong in the card.. it was 'Valetines' so we have been chuckling about having a Valentine's day wax and polish :D

Am feeling surprisingly cheerful in spite of being on CD39 with a BFN! Really want AF to arrive so that we can get going for the next cycle.

Talked to DH about it last night and agreed we are going to try and have a relaxed month.... and aim to BD every 2-3 days with no OPKs or temping... I'm going to keep taking the cough syrup, and will almost definitely be checking my cm (has become a weirdly fascinating habit!)

So, just need CD1 now so we can get going with operation chilled out conception.....
