Trying for a Baby Part 7

Day 13 for me and nothing exciting happens here. As I said at the beginning of my cycle, I'm testing the lunaception theory (well, just try to shorten my cycle by introducing light few night before OV in order to ovulate sooner) but I'm still not 100% sure how this will change my hormones . Sleeping in darkness makes women produce melatonin and sometimes too much melatonin inhibit ovulation, hence my worry. So, starting with tomorrow I shell sleep without an eyemask and I will try to stay outdoors for at least 30 minutes. Also I will let more light coming into our bedroom by not covering the windows with curtains...It would be a miracle if I would OV this week as my cycles are really long. So finger crossed for me.
Good luck to everyone who tests tomorrow. We need some BPF this week ladies!!!:smileyheaBaby Aida is here :j:j:jBaby fund - £3140/£60000 -

Welcome back candlewax, nice to see you again and hello to natterjack, fran-o and butterfly72.
mrhappy and I are both off work tomorrow, so we have had a lovely meal out tonight, all the valentines chat earlier made me laugh. We have our hot date at the fertility specialist tomorrow, woohoo! I can't remember who else has a FS appointment tomorrow as well, but good luck (sorry-I'm hopeless with names, but I remember it being talked about a couple of weeks ago)
Zippy-I hope you're feeling better
I made the mistake of catching up on my phone earlier today, which means I can't remember everything that I wanted to say-and made me late for a visit at work! I had a wee 5 minutes to spare and it took me much longer to read through todays posts.
Hope everyone is well x0 -
I can understand that feeling, it seems everyone is pregnant or has a bouncy baby in their arms but me.
The overwhelming feelings of jealously are keeping me away from several friends and family members who are expecting or just had babies, I just dont trust myself to not say something mean or to burst into tears. The baby photos and updates on facebook seem to be taunting me but I cant help but look and then feel so upset that its not my turn, and then feel so cross with myself for feeling such things about people I do actually care about.
The more I see my sister and SIL and the two girls at work get bigger bumps the more I just want to cry.
DH thinks I am going mental, all I seem to think about is babies and trying to get pregnant. Ive tried to look at a hobby or project to distract me but I cant seem to concentrate on anything else and honestly I dont really want to, I want to decorate the room weve been planning to become a nursery, I want to wander round Mothercare and pick out the cot and buggy that I want. I refuse to book a holiday because OH wants to go skiing and I wouldnt dream of doing that kind of holiday if I was PG, so Ive said we can book the time off work and then wait for a 'last minute deal' the week before. He says, thats how you end up with the rubbish holidays that noone else wanted!
I also feel like Im a bit out of control of my feelings and Ive never been like this over anything before and it doesnt feel nice
Thank you for your honesty and basically summing up how I too feel, but much more eloquently.
I definitely feel like there are days I think I could have a nervous breakdown about it.
I starting a project today for my DW, a bit of a valentines day one on canvas, and definitely found that it took my mind off it for a moment and that helps. If you can get started on a non baby related project I recommend it.
Big hugs

I hear what you are all saying about the overwhelming feelings when seeing pregnant women or those with babies! My DH's princess of a cousin has has 2 and a half years off work having her 3rd and 4th child and was moaning the other day about going back to work. She actually said "well I cant have ANOTHER child so I will have to go back to work". It made me so mad that she sees having another child as so easy and is ungrateful about what she already has! To top it all she is 10 years younger than me and stick thin. Not that I am bitter or anything ha ha!0

I understand that feeling...... 6 of my friends are currently pregnant, 2 have had babies in the last month - oh, and i work in a childrens centre with under 5's running various baby groups, doing baby massage and yoga and i do family support with various families, all of whom have a handful of kids they cant currently cope with but still decide to get pregnant and have another one!:(:(:(
Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?0 -

Finally the OH has agreed we should start trying for a baby. I'm 40 so dont know how successful we'll be! Anyway, we started yesterday on CD11 and we'll have another go tonight!! Not sure if you should leave a day between BDing, but i have ewcm and dont want to miss the opportunity.
I havent read all the thread yet and am not very knowlegdable on baby making, so i might be popping up here asking plenty of questions! In fact tips for tonight most welcome :rotfl:
Welcome. As you may guess from my name, I'm 40 too. I never wanted kids & then had a change of mind. Am realistic that the chances are against (statistically speaking) but giving it a good go!
If you think you are about to ov, no need to give it a day between BDing. Many who are more knowledgeable on here than me will be along to remind that the best way to get pg is regular BDing throughout the month.
This isn't too helpful for the likes of me who can take it or leave it once a week and therefore has to plan when to time the effort!
Ask away with the questions - there's plenty of answers to be shared.
How old is OH? Do either of you have kids already?0
