Trying for a Baby Part 7

Lots of you lovely ladies were talking about knitting earlier and I have decided I want to learn! Can anybody point me in the direction of a good book to learn (I'm a total beginner!)
Had lovely news today, one of my friends who has just been through her first round of IVF is pregnantSo I decided I want to knit something for her baby!
I like The Knitter's Bible by Claire Crompton (Compton?) it covers every technique you need and also has a stitch library. TECHknitter is a great blog, and almost every technique can be found on YOuTube too.
Personally, I like getting patterns off Ravelry, you can get lots of free ones and there is a forum where you can ask for help too. It is free to join.
Im halfway through a dress for my DD at the moment, doing a skirt from one pattern and have changed it from flat to in-the-round, and then will do the top from another pattern (written in the round - I hate seaming!). I'm trying to get it done for my mum's 70th birthday lunch next weekend but not sure if I'll make it!
I still feel kinda crampy but also very tired and starving, so just going to see if AF comes over the weekend, and if not then I might think about testing.
Walby - very exciting!!! A line is a line IMO:T

Oooh thanks LittleMoog and emsbet for the knitting suggestions! That can be something to add to my PMA list too - another month to get better at knitting
Abis - fab PMA list!
ETA - thanks skintchick, just saw your post after I'd written this0 -
Good morning folks:wave:
Aida, with 36 day cycle, one could ov anytime between CD20-26, +Opks from CD17 onwards. If you are going to use OPKs, to be on the safe side, start testing from CD10? As that is tomorrow, perhaps as soon as you get your cheapy IC OPKs?
Personally I start when my cm starts to change:money:
QQ I have 20 IC OPKs (they came with the BBT thermometer) but I haven't used any today...I hope the work. Still think it's still early days as my cycle is long...
Where do you ladies buy your IC OPKs? Do they work?
Snowy Congratulation!!!I wish you a healthy pregnancy and an easy birth!!!!
Walby fingers crossed.:j
Mrsj - I bought a BBT thermometer from Amazon and it stores the last temp. I will send you the link on PM.
Hugs for all the CD1s:smileyheaBaby Aida is here :j:j:jBaby fund - £3140/£60000 -
Nicki - your plan sounds positive. I have reflexology once a month and find it really relaxes me if nothing else and still believe that it can help with ttc.
Good idea. I might see if I can book some for Sunday. I did it two weeks ago and was super relaxing.portsmouthali wrote: »Aaaaarrrghhh CD1 for me too. I knew anyway as I tested earlier in the week (many times) and got BFNs but there's always a little thought that the tests might be wrong.
I felt sure this was our month. Now 6 months since my last loss and I'm feeling the pressure a bit. I can't understand how I fell pregnant twice last year so easily, and now it's not happening.
Oh well, much wine & chocolate to be consumed this weekend, then back to the PMA
Congrats to Snowy for the BFP and hugs to anyone who needs one  Have a good weekend all xxx
This whole process is a uniquely painful activity. constantly hoping and being disappointed... but you can't give up. It's just very hard though!
My multi-quote's didn't work, but meant to say hugs to all those feeling quite bad this month. I was especially upset, and have been away from the board a few days. Trying to get on with life and be happy without constantly thinking about ttc. I am still reading though.
No OPKs yet this month, and I only have a few left, so I may try over the next few days. Then back into the crazy up and down world of the 2ww. Not looking forward to it this month - but about to start, so have to steel myself!0 -
Hi ladies. Another cd1 here too.
I knew it'd be unlikely for us in first cycle of resumed ttc.
My pma? A holiday may be booked this weekend for the summer! Can't join in with wine and choc with the diabetes do will have to have something pretty to wear instead!
Next cycle is going to be the one I think!0 -

Am back from my couple of days away, well was actually back hours ago, but had work tonight. Can't say it was the most relaxing, the gig was fantastic and the apartment we booked was great for the price we paid, except OH managed to book us a twin room instead of a double, so hardly got any sleep squashed together in a single bed.
Oh paid for me to have my hair cut, I have very very short hair and haven't had it cut since september before my wedding so I was looking like a hedge. Feel so much better in that respect, although got cold ears.
Work was an absolute nightmare tonight, all of the beer pumps stopped working, so couldn't sell any draught beer, luckily I've got loads of bottles in, but we were dead quiet anyway. Managed to fix it in the end, but by then it was too late.
At least I've got sunday to look forward to, my girly mates are coming around for a Come Dine with me style meal. Got to plate another meal as FIL isn't cooking again and is struggling to get about in this snow and ice. He's also been sat in his living room doing nothing all week with no central heating on just a little fan heater, Then moans how cold he is. It's not as if he's a poor man, he's very very comfortable, just a stingy !!!!!!.Remember never judge someone that makes a mistake, because in six months time it may be you that makes the next mistake.0 -
Walby, where's this test result? Some of us are impatient lol
What exactly happens with reflexology? Is it just a fancy massage?
I had a dream last night that I had tons of EWCM, clearly making a baby is all I can think about in my sleep too!
Fairly excited to go look at a few show homes. I want to go cos I'm nosey but I want DH to go so he can visualise what saving a house deposit would give us as he gets frustrated about not being able to spend money. He's one of those where it seems to burn a hole in his pocket x xLittle Lowe born January 2014 at 36+6

I agree with TeamLowe walaby, test test!
Cant remember anymore postssorry ladies.
As for me, af left the building this morning so am feeling positive again, hoping to get a few opks and maybe a thermometer this month, see how we get on with them. I have 2 weeks off of work now too so will be able to be a bit more relaxed and get some more BD-ing in as im normally too stressed/tired with work. Hoping to see some of my family these two weeks as well. I have 2 cousins i havent seen for 10+ years due to sone family issues but we have added each other on facebook and been speaking regularly, cant wait to see them. Hoping to see my parents this week too, they went to NY last week and havnt seen them for ages, i normally see my mum 2-3 times a week! Its also my birthday the 21st so have a little get together planned for that too. A few plans but nothing too busy :-)
Waiting for internet man to turn up to fix our broadband, its been off for over a week grrr. Then going into town to see Arg from TOWIE, yes, i am unfortunately an Essex geek!! Have a lovely weekend if i dont get a chance to post again ladies! Xx0
