Claire - congrats on the good job. Shame that TTC going on hold but great that you have really thought it through & agreed a plan with OH. I wouldn't go back on the pill either.

Q - GOOD LUCK for today. Hope all is great!

CD11 here. I didn't start using CBFM until day 8 (wasn't at home days 6/7 & didn't take it with me). It is set to the right day so it 'knows' it's day 11.

Still on low - ususally I get a high from about day 8. Is this affected by 'missing' the first couple of days?

I also have 4 early response OPKs at home. I plan to use them from tomorrow onwards. I must admit I find the lines on these more reassuring than the CBFM. Think I just don't trust/ understand what's going on inside the mind of the CBFM! I need to get out more!!!!!

I have a (fairly) regular cycle & think ov is about day 14.

DTD on day 9. Hopefully today onwards will be every day (haven't told OH that but I don't expect there will be any complaining).

    Happy Friday everyone.

Congratulations on the job Claire, it sounds very good! :) It sounds like this will be the perfect time to track your cycles and find out just what your body is doing so when you do get back to TTC you'll be a pro at knowing exactly when to BD to make a baby! :)

I'm very glad it's Friday today! :j Going down to London tomorrow to visit my friend and I'm very excited :D

Got my fingers crossed for you today QQ! :)

Just popping in to say good luck today QQ!

((hugs)) zippy and kavics b for the prolonged bleeding. You have my sympathies, I bled for 4/5 weeks after my last mc and it was so draining and disheartening evryday that it continued. I hope it stops soon.

Congratulations Claire on the new job, you'll be back TTCing before you know it and you will have a nice maternity package in place for when you get your BFP :)

    xx

    Morning ladies :)
I'm finally feeling much better, back at work today, and have a more sensible temperature. Just relieved to be off the sofa and away from the daytime tv tbh!

QQ thinking of you, fingers crossed the egg collection goes smoothly :)

Claire - massive congrats on the new job, it sounds great. You'll be so busy these first few months you won't even notice the time passing.

Re. spots, I've always had really terrible skin (I'm 33, it should have stopped by now!!) You've probably tried these already but you can get something called Zineryt (lotion) prescribed which can work quite well. I also second the recommendation for Panoxyl. I've been using the 2.5% one, I think there's a stronger one as well though. I got it online (it's not prescription only at that strength) and just use a teeny little bit. Also, for the last 18months or so I've been using the clinique 3-step anti blemish programme. It took a while to kick in but my skin is now the best it's ever been. I still get spots, but they are smaller and go a lot quicker.

Up to a few months ago I couldn't even let me OH see me without make-up on! I would quite often be in tears at having to leave the house, and I've even called in sick before now. Now, my skin is far from perfect, but it's such a massive improvement. I just use a bit of concealer or sometimes tinted moisturiser for work, and at home in the evenings I have no make up on at all - I can't explain what a big change that is for me lol.

Sorry that's turned into such an essay!! Hope you find something that works for you, don't be afraid to ask your GP for help. x

Claire congratulations on the job! I would strongly recommend not going back on the pill as it'll just mess your cycles up further, and if there is a consistent problem with your cycle length over time, they'll have nothing (hormonal) you've taken to blame it on. Hopefully your body will use this time to settle into a decent pattern though. And don't forget, there's not just the pill that can help with spots-now you're not ttc for a little while, there will be non ttc friendly options you can try. I suggest speaking to your doctor and/or pharmacist :)

Thanks :), Id like to avoid it if I can - like you said I dont want the docs have anything like the pill to blame if my cycles still arent sorted in a few months time.

Claire, Congratulations on the job, great news. You need to do what is the best for you and your OH in the long term, if that means stopping TTC than stop. I would never go back on the pill tbh, I would rather take my temp and use ov sticks and use condom on those days when you ovulate. I also have spots, the gp gave me a cream called Panoxyl 10, you can get it over the counter in Boots too, cost appr. £5. It's really good and I don't have outbreaks anymore (well, just before my period a couple of spots which never mature thanks to the cream). I used to use it twice a day for about 4 months, it took as long to clear it up but now I use it just when the spots come out.

That really helps to hear of something that works thanks so much, Im going to try to sort out getting that cream to try asap! If I can get rid of the spots then I will be so happy. I think Ill use the opks and temping so we just know when not to BD, as Ive got quite good with that now, as DH is err... rather well endowed? and weve not had good experiences with condoms! :rotfl: (including embarassing episodes of DH asking women behind counters what sizes the condoms cover when we were teenagers! and he wasnt taking the mick he just wanted a genuine answer!)

thanks so much, I wish I had posted about this more before! I havent tried anything like that, just Neutrogena and tea tree type stuff. And I think because its hormones causing them, they just wont go away. I used to have sort of bad spots as a teenager, but went on the pill at 18 and my skin got so much better (not amazing, Ive always worn foundation and stuff but not had like really bad spots, more just pores you could see, so with make up it looked really good and clear), and so now at the age of 28 suddenly breaking out in painful spots which are harder to cover - including on my back which I had literally not had a spot on for 10 years is really horrible, and yes there have been a few days when Ive really not wanted to go out or had to wear a scarf because Im paranoid about ones that had popped up on my neck or left scars from me picking them - I feel like a teenage boy!

So perhaps Ill order that cream online, and then if it doesnt work go up to the prescription strength one, as both of you have recommended it. thanks so much everyone! :T
