Without in any way wanting to cause offence, can I also give money puddle a little nudge and a smile :). You only started to try to conceive just over 2 weeks ago, sweetie. It would be physically impossible, even if you were both hyper fertile and timed everything perfectly, for you to have a confirmed pregnancy yet! I would put your pregnancy tests away for at least 10 days (and even that means you would be starting to test very early in your cycle) and keep trying to make a baby for the whole of that time in case you ovulate late on your first month off contraception. And definitely don't get stressed and upset yet. The phone lines are still open for you at the moment - the results show won't be on until after the news ;)

haha thank you nicki. Sorry to be such a drama queen. I know you're right. I just want a baby nooooooooowwwww! And I'd been using those ic tests that promise to work immediately if you are pregnant :T

According to the guidance notes for people in contact with children (given to me after I'd had the contact), it says that they don't have to stay off school as it's just like having a mild cold with a painless rash on your cheeks for children. :o The only warning note on there was about contact with pregnant women. Having read up on the syndrome last night, it says most adults will be immune to it and may have had the syndrome without realising it, so it's put my mind at ease a bit. It can cause miscarriage if you get it whilst pregnant though if you're not immune to it.
It seems that my friend's nursery/doctor was more cautious. You'd think any illness that can cause mc would be enough cause for some kind of quarantine

Anyway, I'm sure you'll already have the antibodies and everything will be ok :)

Bigzippy- I love your 'oh the drama' smileys it made me smile. Hoping the bleeding gets a bit better for you, my af this month has been the worst I can remember since I started my periods way way back, some of the pain has me doubled over and my hot water bottle has been my best friend!
The purpose of the smileys is to raise a smile, so I'm happy to oblige :D
They say that the first AF after mc can be really really heavy/painful, so try not to let your brain run away with you :o Feel better soon! :) It'll be you and me next month/cycle hi5.gif

As for mooncup, it's only like a plunger if you do it "wrong". You soon learn that's not the way to do it! :rotfl: Gonna give mine another bash today and see how it goes. I think the key is to be relaxed (and follow instruction ;)) I don't really like tampons; if they're in wrong you're just uncomfortable and can't pull them out without dragging all your natural fluids out too, which makes putting another in difficult/impossible. Pads are uncomfortable, messy, and irritating. Hopefully this mooncup will be the solution 'til I skip AF's for 9months or so ;) (oh and I thought "ewww" at first too, but I guess TTC and watching for signs for so long, you lose that sense of eww!)
Im another one though that OH wouldnt get a mooncup for me either, I dont think he has ever heard of one before, and :rotfl: at the one in the dishwasher. Do they look obvious what they are for? Or could it hide in the dishwasher without anyone knowing?
If you don't know what it is to begin with, you won't know what it is in a dishwasher. I suspect it's easier to just boil it in a (designated?) pan or steriliser though tbh. It looks like an oversized, off-white, silicone thimble, sort of.
:j :j just startin to get darker lines on the OPKs. Not positive yet but it means the first two week wait is coming to an end :j:j

Let operation 'get up the duff before you have to start leaving pee in the fridge' commence!!
    :rotfl: Good luck! fingersx.gif

I think the person who puts her mooncup in the dishwasher was very much in the minority, I remember that thread too - think of the chemical residues from rinse aid and dishwasher tablets. Not suitable at all for insertion in the body! I just give mine a good scrub with soap and water and the nailbrush, and every few months boil it in plain water for 5-10 minutes to remove the discolouration that builds up.

Feeling very down this afternoon, my chest hurts a lot and I've just been to say goodbye to a friend who's moving to Scotland on Monday :( we had a good sob and lots of hugs, I'm really going to miss her. already planning a trip up to see her when she's settled though, will combine it with a trip back to our uni town.

Edit: opk was -ve so no need to bd tonight. I'm quite relieved!

  • hey money puddle, someones probably answering this as I type but the acronyms used to confuse me!

most people have an LP - Luteal Phase of 2 weeks which is between ovulation and nasty AF - Aunt Flo arriving! So 2ww=2 week wait - the nail biting time when you are waiting to see if AF visits or if you can take an IC - internet cheapie!

    good luck :)

    Afternoon ladies,

I read back but can't remember half of the posts sorry, I have too many things on my mind:(. Anyway, I went to the dr this morning as my blood result was back but the hospital did loose one page which means that I have to go for a repeat one this week. I'm really fed up and even the dr was really concerned as he could see I meant business this time. So back to the lab on Mon or Tues depending on my boss (i start at 8 and lab opens at 7.30 so will be late). I was really disappointed but he put 'urgent' on my paper so the result would be back the next working day. At least.

Anyway, QQ would you change it for CD2 for me pls? Thank you so much! After yesterday's moan, AF arrived. Typical. So now on CD2. I also started to take evening primrose oil and vitamin b so we shall see, and yes, CBFM for me for the first time!

Bad news for us: our tenant gave notice so now in search of new one. The problem is that we are 2000km away and it's kind of hard co-ordinating things. Let's just hope we find someone who can rent it from mid Feb. We also have to sort out the electricity and gas certificate which is so expensive, I can't believe it. So I emailed 10 people for a quote and just hope they won't rob the bank...

Have a good day everyone, after spending 4 hours with Mr google, I'm now going to switch off laptop and will not return till tmrw.
