zippy I hope you managed to get some nice sleep if you managed to get back to sleep again. Sending massive hugs to you, and thank for doing the "in the style of sexymouse" it was really touching. Any predictions for anyone else on the thread? Maybe you have BFP intuition.
You're welcome :) i did have a snooze after posting til about half an hour ago. Would love more sleep but I'm also hungry and the dogs want some attention chienbisous.gif
The only other inkling I've had just lately, other than KittenPie, was the dream about QQ's BFP, so we'll see ;)

I will definitely read about chromium thanks! I cant believe you haev lost 3 stone - tha'ts amazing! How long has that taken you now?

I'm really hoping this metformin will spur on a bit of a weight loss which will help me to decide to eat properly and help lose some more...

I'm so sorry you are feeling so run down BZ, I hope you are able to make some time to be kind to yourself; a bath or a bottle of wine - whatever works for you! Personally, I prefer both at the same time! ;)
Erm, off and on since March I think. I've still had crisps, chocolate, icecream, pastries, etc - but in moderation. And I'm not able to exercise either. If I can do it, anyone can, it just takes that switch to go off in your brain where you think "enough is enough, I can and will change this". Cutting out all processed foods was and is the biggest thing for me, I think.

In my opinion the more processed food you have the more you crave, and we don't get chance to cook/buy/get from scratch (hospital visiting interferes with this, for eg.!) we notice a) how much !!!!per we feel and b) how much more !!!! we end up consuming/craving.

For me the trigger really was (along with the PCOS diagnosis, which brought about the Glucose Tolerance Test) being told I had pre-diabetes. It frightened me, and I knew I had to change things NOW, iyswim. I think the Metformin helped me along once I'd started the process mentally and practically, rather than the other way around, but "different strokes for different folks" :) I've got to double my efforts now, really, to get to where they want me to be in the time I've got til the appointment, but hopefully I can do it... watch this space! ;)

I managed a snooze and I'm gonna stay in my pjammies and watch some tele with the dogs til DH gets back from hospital visiting and then gym (burning off nervous energy I think ). Can't be faffed with a bath, though I do need one/a shower, and have to be in the mood for wine, but I might have a bowl of fruit with some icecream in front of the tele while I watch this week's OBEM ;)

As for me, just getting to grips with my diabetes. I'm trying hard not to dwell and am determined I am not an invalid, trying as hard as possible to just get on with it!

It was explained to me that pregnancy is pretty gruelling for diabetic women but if I look after myself I should be able to conceive eventually and I feel like I'm doing all I can to prepare my body etc. I'm not going to use any vits or cough syrup etc as I've no idea of the effect on my blood glucose. All I'm doing is taking prescription strength folic acid.

I'd like to hear any fellow diabetics pg stories if you have any!
Maire, you CAN do it. I have faith. :D If you keep an eye on what you eat and drink (which I'm sure you are doing) there is no reason why you can't be the best of statistics. Do you have any weight to lose? That can often help preconception/birth, from what I understand.

My diabetes pg stories are an ex colleague of mine who found out she had diabetes...must be? 5-6 yrs ago ish and went on to have 2 perfectly healthy babies - and she wasn't a small lady! My cousin also has diabetes (for a number of years) and she has never been what might be described as a "healthy weight", but has had 2 gorgeous little boys. I think she might have had at least the second one via caesarean, and he was a big baby, but she was already a big lady, and I honestly think that plays a big role in diabetes situations. They kept a very close eye on both mum and baby(s) though and all are thriving and healthy.

Look after yourself, as well as you can, and the rest will follow. (That's "The Word According To Zippy"! ;):p)

Ooh I had a dream about myself and QQ getting our BFPs in the same dream a few nights ago, so hopefully this is a good omen! Funny thing is, I've no idea what QQ looks like, and she was just called QQ in my dream too, and I know that can't be her name IRL. lol
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

for ladies that have been trying longer than me, can i ask (if you don't mind) if you convince yourself you're pregnant each month? this is only our second cycle officially trying but i've convinced myself every month since we lost our angel. even for a few days after AF comes i still have suspicions lol just feel totally mental and like how will i ever tell the difference when i actually am? i guess you can't til you get that wonderful test :o
Yes, it's mad isn't it? And when I was pregnant the first time I had a moment where I thought I was pregnant and I tested on 13DPO using a IC and at first I thought it was a negative and I was gutted. Then I looked again and it was a TLP...took a FR and it was a dark pink line. Which confused me cos the IC was meant to be far more sensitive than the FR.

Even now I am 11DPO, been spotting for 3 days (never had this before) and even got cramps but I still have this inkling of hope! Crazy.

Quick question - after BDing what does everyone do? I have been laying on my back, with a pillow under my bum to tilt my uterus and stop sperm coming out, for about 20 minutes. Is this long enough? What does everyone else do? *nosey*
Don't laugh...I make sure I orgasm if I didn't do so at the right time. I'm sure I read somewhere last time I was TTC that it helps moves the sperm up further! Sort of makes sense though if you think about it. I also stay in bed for at least 30 mins. It's all crazy though. Women get pregnant from DTD standing up.

    Congrats Sexymouse :j:j:j

    Thanks bz!

I'm a type 1. It came on really quickly, only had symptoms for a few weeks. During that period, I lost loads of weight. It's stabilised now and my bmi is around 22 so not too bad! Have four daily injections at the moment.

  • Congratulations :j sexy mouse, bargain princess and michkanorman. Wishing you all a healthy and happy 9 months.

Welcome welshgirl78 (and any other newbies I have missed). I hope your stay here is short and sweet.

Hugs bigzippy, QQ and Nicki for sick relatives. My Grandma got out of hospital yesterday and it is amazing how draining it is running back and forward, please all remember to take care too.

Hugs to those with AF / CD1.

Not much to report here as only CD7. There is a chance I will be made redundant later this year and I am now stressing about what I will do if this happens and I am pregnant as I'm not sure anyone will want to hire me, oh the joys!! I can’t remember who it was asked about savings but we have enough saved to cover a 12 month income shortfall and some extra for the big items. I am a total control freak and am not liking not being in control of mother nature :p

Hugs to those that need / want them.

ladies, can anyone familiar with temping take a look at my chart here. I've been doing it a week, and apart from the obviously high temps over the weekend when we were out friday and saturday, it looks really variable to me still.
How big a rise is it normal to see after ov? will I be able to pick it out easily?

Hey hunni, your chart looks fine to me. My chart tends to be very up and down too but ov is quite easy to spot as long as you are consistent with temping.

Have a look at my chart http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/38d475 i use a bbt in fahrenheit by the way xx

QQ I'm actually 3dpo according to FF and thats what I thought too so if you could update your list tomorrow to 4dpo that would be great :)

I am actually so excited by my graph, purely because it shows I have Ov'd i keep looking at it. After my mc my periods stopped and were very irregular and I was convinced I was not ovulation so to see it there in black and white (well red really) that I am ovulating and that my one remaining ovary does work has made my day after a pretty tough week.

I completely know how you feel! Should I admit I have kept my positive opk?? No... you're right... I probably shouldn't. ;)
