Yesterday evening I checked my cm before we went to bed, and I entered it on FF as watery, as it seemed like the best description (ie not sticky/creamy, and definitely not ewcm). It’s now put that I’m potentially fertile (CD10), when I’m not expecting to ovulate until CD20ish.
Just been to the loo and had what looks like ewcm to me, quite clear, sort of gummy and v stretchy. I know this could be bd remains, but is it normally so stretchy – I thought it liquefied when it got inside? I’m wondering if I should do an opk when I get home, although I wasn’t planning to start them until about CD14? This is only my 4th proper cycle off the pill, so it’s possible that everything is still changing and this could be a shorter cycle? *confused*
Hi LittleMoog - I'm in a similar situation this month. I am not expecting to OV until CD 16/17 (am on CD11) but already seeing more cm than usual at this stage. That said, this is only my third cycle off the pill, so I'm not entirely sure what 'normal' is yet!
I decided to use the OPKs this month, I actually started yesterday - very early I know, but I just don't want to miss it in case it's a few days earlier this month, I figure no harm in a few extra days of negative OPKs, especially as I bought them very cheaply on amazon so not wasting too much money!0 -

CD13 time2deal - +OPK
QQ - you are so sweet that you keep track of every comment!
What does OPK mean in terms of when you will ovulate? I had a weak positive 2 days ago, strong positive last night - does that mean ov today, or had it already taken place?
Also, is there any 'normal' time of the day for ov to take place? When you are sleeping, or active??0 -
I'm impressed by the cheap AC at Holland and Barrett. I have just come back from my trip out to buy some. Sainsburys didn't have them so I popped in to the local health food store who did, and almost fainted when they were rung up at £19.50! These are the vitex ones and there 90 in the bottle, so at 1 x 3 daily that is a month's supply. If I am allowed to keep trying next month, I'll make sure I order them in plenty of time from amazon I think.
For those who have been trying to conceive for some time, I thought this might be worth a read. Someone posted it on a miscarriage thread I still read on another forum but it is about difficulty conceiving and what you can ask friends to do to support you.

Nicki - that's a really useful bit of info there. Hope next month is your month.
Can I ask what Agnus Castus and cough medicine do? I've only been off the pill for 3 months now too and my cycle lengths have been 27 days, 31 days and 22 days so I think I must be taking a while to settle down. I read somewhere (The Tommy's book I think) that it can take up to 6 months for body to get back to normal. I don't like waitingso I bought a Clear Blue Fertility monitor at the weekend (£99 from Boots - not the cheapest of impulse buys!) to get a fairer idea of ov as me and temping don't mix.
Whoever asked - officially we have nothing saved up for baby. Unofficially I have 3k as since we married and I moved into OH house I have no mortgage rent to pay (he owns outright) so I've been saving most of it to overpay my own house but also a little secret pot for me cos I will probably always be "paid" by OH (I will work for him once kiddies arrive) and I'm very worried and scared about not having my own money. We're also hoping to set up a business which may provide me with an income but probably not for a few years yet. As he runs his own business every penny for the last 10 years has gone into that - he always knew that when a family arrived he'd have to start taking some back out!!
Secret Debts - I want to know what happened to your hair?!0 -

Someone will probably be along with the useful links before I finish this :rotfl:
Agnus castus (I think!) helps with cycle length. No idea on the technicalities but I believe it can help sort of regulate things if your cycle varies a lot or is quite long. I'm trying it again as my cycle seems to have slipped to nearly 50 days so am hoping this will bring it back into line lol. AFAIR, you take it from AF to ov, as I think it's not a good idea to take it if you are pg.
Cough medicine helps with CM, it helps make the texture of it a bit more sperm-friendly... or something like that!
As you can probably tell - I have no medical training:D0 -
Agnus castus regulates hormones. It helps support progesterone levels in the second half of the cycle, and stops oestrogen being too dominant, which can interfere with ovulation.
Robuttissin or guaifesnisn cough mixture thins cervical mucus, which makes it easier for sperm to swim to its destination.

We don't have any Baby money saved up in particular either. We have got a heavy chunk of savings stowed away though that would be used to support us in emergencies if we needed it. However it's meant to be our house deposit, except in the current climate we can't get a mortgage. I think it's more important to have savings while we are trying than a house, as, as long as there's a roof over our head even if it is rented it doesn't mater.
I can't remember but if you ovulate late in the cycle, does that mean that AF comes later, or the LP becomes shorter. I've ovulated later this month and don't know what that would mean for our chances this month.
Had a lovely night out with the girls last night, I really really needed it as haven't had any proper female company since xmas. So it's raised my PMA even more. We went to a rather posh pub near me, was so nice to go somewhere posh and nice and not looked down upon. OH even said I scrubbed up well as I left (gave him a soft belt for that one).
Sat hiding in my bedroom at the moment, as was in the shower earlier when someone banged on the door. I just thought it was door to door cold callers as usual so ignored it (plus was wet and obviously naked). When I got out ages later realised its the blokes come to fix our roof, they are still here doing the work, but I am far too embarassed now to go and tell them I am really in. Que the hiding.Remember never judge someone that makes a mistake, because in six months time it may be you that makes the next mistake.0 -
Thanks tea lover and Nicki - You guys know your stuff!!0

Not sure who asked but financially we haven't saved anything for the baby, we have no money in the bank at the moment. We paid off our mortgage last year and currently tackling our investment flat mortgage, in theory we will pay it off by the time I need to go on maternity leave. We are currently overpaying the mortgage by £2k-£2.5k every month. So we will have an extra £600-£700 a month plus I'm due to get 2 sets of maternity pay if I manage to start my maternity leave before September. I guess we are in a lucky position but than we worked over 50 hours every week for the past 10 years to achieve all this.
I know this isn't the thread, but are you sure over paying on a investment mortgage is a good idea. Don't you off set a mortgage against profit to reduce tax & therefore it's 'good' to have a loan.
No need to reply or share your finances, just wanted to make sure you have considered this!:money:

Oh! I thought maybe last night you were over-reacting! Clearly not if it needed a haircut. What did OH/ the hairdresser say?0
