There doesn't seem to be any link between a late Bfp and a higher risk of miscarriage skintchick. I've looked into this before and can't find any at least.

A late BFP could be because you ovulate late, implant at the outside edge of normal, or just start off with lower levels of Hcg. There also doesn't seem to be a link between low HCG and miscarriage. The important thing is that the level, whatever it is, doubles at least every other day, but some people have far higher levels than others at the same stage in pregnancy.

You normally conceive quickly and get your BFp late so try not to panic about BFn just yet, and hold on to hope.

Apologies for any typos as on phone.

Quite pleased as I managed to sell a spare CBFM on Gumtree today - the man who picked it up was a sperm donor who was getting it for one of his recipients - that made me think of you 2b. How are you today? Are you and your family feeling better yet?

:rotfl:An interesting conversation you must of had at exchange of money & package!

    Conratulations emsbet and kittykat!!!!

I went to EPAU, they couldn't see any sign of pregnancy on external u/s. So they took a urine test which was negative, and took bloods and told me to call tomorrow. I did my last frer when I got home as thats what my 5 positives were on, and there wasn't even a hint of a line.

So, can I come back here please?:o

    Hugs :(

I tested again today after a trip to Asda. Sadly it wasn;t the one with a pharmacy so had to get two tests for £3.57 instead of three for £1.50, I bought four, did one with the FMU I had in a pot in my bag. BFN again. I did wonder if the hormone would have lasted OK for the 5 hours after I did the wee into the pot, but I don;t think it would make enough of a difference to change the result, would it? Does anyone know how long it is safe to keep a urine sample for testing? It was only in my handbag, not a fridge.

I am going to try and wait till Thursday to test again.

Hope that Thursday gets the right result.

Glad I have some ICs in stock as I don't think I would go to Asda with pee in a pot!

CD21 with me so I've had my GP blood tests. I've booked day 1 for next Monday. Hope it's a normal cycle - well actually I don't. Obviously I hope I test at the weekend & it's a BFP .

Proud of myself again for not constantly looking at the forum today. Quick lunchtime read & then end of day (although will be on later too).

Massive hugs Birdie - I know how heartbreaking it can be too - I told my Mum at the time I found out about my friend and she was really unsympathetic towards me (she's never experienced the heartbreak of taking a long time to conceive as she conceived first time for both of us) and said I was being jealous and should be happy for her. It's put a bit of a wedge between my friend and I now, as she was the person I was confiding in about our difficulties in conceiving too. I'm glad your DH has been giving you lots of cuddles. Luckily I don't have to see this friend if I don't want to, but I suppose it's harder when you're related. I cried buckets, and it did help. I think some of the posts on here also helped, as I can't remember who is was, but someone said that it is because every baby is different, and when the time is right, we'll have the baby that is perfect for us (I may have paraphrased this a bit, but hopefully you understand the sentiment).
That is exactly what my DH says too!

Thanks for the sympathy girls :) I know I'm being silly, I should be delighted that I'm about to be an auntie... but we all know that when it comes to TTC not everything is as clear cut as that! :o Last night OH said that he didn't want to go to a family gathering until we're PG as he doesn't want to have to enthuse about SIL's baby knowing that we don't have one on board yet, I have to say I feel the same which is awful. :o

Everyone I know who is/has been PG concieved fairly quickly and everything went well from start to finish; I can't help but worry that the odds are against me since the statistics have to come from somewhere and if I know a lot of people with textbook pregnancies and peerfect babies then I must be the exception... but I'm just having a bad day and over-thinking! :o
You just don't always know though, lots of people may seem to have had an easy ride, but you don't know for sure. Your time will come.

I am going to be brave and stop lurking here and introduce myself properly.

I had the coil removed in Oct, so 3rd month trying now. Like others I thought 1 BD and that would be it to begin with :rotfl:

I am trying to be relaxed about this, but that’s really not my style :p Husband doesn’t want to be “put off” by knowing any details and we are a weekend only couple usually, so I think next month I might order some ovulation sticks.

Currently think that I am about 1/2DPO and have 34 (ish) day cycles, so 24th is testing date for me if I last that long.

Thanks for all your help and advice - it has been invaluable already
    Welcome!

This is a link that Tink posted a while back. It is a forum but the lady who set up the thread has written what each thing is supposed to do and also linked the places that she found the information from. It might be useful to you.

I have adapted my diet to include most of what is on that list. It is exhausting! I can't eat a sweet potato every day!!! And all that drinking just sends me to the toilet all the time! But I am including more of what's on the list than not, so fingers crosses. I don't take any supplements over and above the Pregnacare Conception.

Massive hugs dibdabb - would you like me to add you to today's list? What would you like me to put in terms of CDs etc? Sorry if this sounds insensitive, but I wanted you to feel like you were back in the fold by including you on the list as QQ's not here to change the first page etc until tomorrow.

Hope I've edited everyone in successfully.

ETA I've added you at the bottom dibdabb as CD? - awaiting ov. Hugs again.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Thanks Nicki, that's reassuring to hear.

In other news, I am trying a new recipe for honey cake, it involves oil and measuring in cups, all very scary, totally liquid mixture, enough for two tins (hard to halve the quantities as given) so two cakes in oven now!
