I'm not sure about these vitamin talks: I heard about agnus cactus (though also heard not to self medicate?) but not yet about B vit and evening primrose oil to help concieving. Can anyone have a link where I can read further? Google decided to only show me forums and places I can buy them but I'm more interested in finding out how they help.

Ditto :) I am taking folic acid but nothing else... don't want to overdo the supplements but also interested in seeing what could be helpful.
  • I've just googled Agnus Castus & it basically said the it regulates hormones & also provides progesterone. I've been looking into taking it because of my short lp - but I don't see much point in taking it if you already have a normal cycle! I'm looking into different vitamins etc because my 3 cycles have been 58 days with no definate ov. 42 days with an 8 day lp and this latest one has been 34 days with a 11 day lp. If the next cycle is similar to this one then I'll stop taking the Agnus Castus & the evening primrose oil & hope that I stay settled in a viable cycle!! Hope that clears things up a little bit xx

Thanks. I have a fairly regular cycle (31 days usually though not sure what is happening this month) so I guess I won't need them. I only take pregnacare and fish oil, hoping that's enough.

This is a link that Tink posted a while back. It is a forum but the lady who set up the thread has written what each thing is supposed to do and also linked the places that she found the information from. It might be useful to you.

    Conratulations emsbet and kittykat!!!!

I went to EPAU, they couldn't see any sign of pregnancy on external u/s. So they took a urine test which was negative, and took bloods and told me to call tomorrow. I did my last frer when I got home as thats what my 5 positives were on, and there wasn't even a hint of a line.

So, can I come back here please?:o

Welcome candycane - if you know what cycle day you're on, then I can add you to the list today if you like?

Thanks! Lets go for CD20 (last period started 21 dec) and 1DPO (which is a guess). Does that sound about right for a 34 day cycle?

    Congratulations Kittycat!!!

    good luck for Sunday Flee!!

    Welcome to Candycane

I tested again today after a trip to Asda. Sadly it wasn;t the one with a pharmacy so had to get two tests for £3.57 instead of three for £1.50, I bought four, did one with the FMU I had in a pot in my bag. BFN again. I did wonder if the hormone would have lasted OK for the 5 hours after I did the wee into the pot, but I don;t think it would make enough of a difference to change the result, would it? Does anyone know how long it is safe to keep a urine sample for testing? It was only in my handbag, not a fridge.

I had a look back at last years diary (wish I still had 2008s now so I could check the others) and checked my last two pregnancies. I tested positive on CD28 for one of them, and CD 39 for the other! So as I am CD30 it could be any time in the next week or so I guess. I definitely feel more PG than pre-menstrual but I am not holding my breath either.

Do you think the longer after OV it gets, the more likely I am to lose any resulting pregnancy? Do you think it makes a difference?

I am going to try and wait till Thursday to test again.
