The next verse - wishing you a happy & healthy PG x x x x xIf you can think it........it will happen0

I've booked for my day 21 blood test with the GP next week & also for a swab test on the same day.
As it's possible that I 'could' be pg at that time, should I move the swab test to the week after - or does it not matter?0 -
Ok, think I'm ready to take the plunge and join in!
We've been trying for, ooh, 5 days now! :rotfl: According to my calculations I should be ovulating some time between Thursday and Tuesday. I think we'll just be going with the flow and see what happens for the first 6 months, and if no joy after that I'll start trying the temps and ovulation sticks etc. I came off the pill in August and luckily my periods settled straight away into a 31 day cycle. Been taking folic acid since October. Not going to tell OH when I'm ovulating, want to keep it 'fun' for as long as possible! Am also going to try and look on the bright side if I don't fall quickly, it's more time to save up for maternity leave, I can get back down to a size 10 for my friends wedding, and I can plan a fun weekend away with my friends and a few drinks. We've also decided that if nothing happens we'll go to New York this year.
Good luck everyone this month and beyond!0 -
Congratulations TheNextVerse - have a happy and healthy pregnancy and birth!
Well Moon and I didn't BD yesterday after all - I had a really bad headache when we were out for our walk, and got an unexpected phonecall (number passed on by the other family I babysat for on the 30th) to babysit in the evening. It was late when I got home (about 11.40pm) so I went to bed. We'll have to BD tonight though as I got my peak on CBFM this morning (haven't told Moon). The family I was babysitting for had an enormous house with about 7 bedrooms, loads of utility room type kitcheny things, about 3 main bathrooms and 2 loos, and a tennis court in the front garden! :eek:This is only their holiday/weekend home too - they live in London the rest of the time. Can't wait to see what it looks like in the daylight if I babysit in the summer. They also had a really cute puppy that was only 10 weeks old, so I had lots of cuddles with her - she also has the same name as my cat, so that was a strange coincidence. They also paid me extra to cover me petrol costs to get there, so that was good as it's a 15 mile round trip from my house.
Well I'd better go and put some waterproofs on cos our bins have just been blown over outside.
Hugs for all who need or want them.

Fingers crossed for you.
It is best to wait until 13/14 DPO as you should get a lot stronger line then then at 10/11DPO. I think HcG levels double every 48hours or so and so those couple of extra days will make it easier to read the test.

Thanks for the advice Emsbet. I shall try and hold out a little bit longer - I'm just so impatient!!!! I think you're only a few days behind me so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you too.0 -
Hi All,
I'm after some advice if possible. I've been lurking the last few months and haven't really posted much but myself and my partner are planning on trying for a baby after AF this month (due on Thursday).
I have my hair dyed at home every 4 weeks (only 29 but I have lots of grey hair!). Is it safe for me to keep dying my hair whilst TTC/pregnant?
Thanks in advance.0 -

Do you mean a smear or something different?I think I personally wouldn't have it done but that may just be me being over catious. What does your doctor say? Can you not have it done pre-ov?Ok, think I'm ready to take the plunge and join in!

 Hello, I have the same problem with lots of greys. I tend to dye my hair before ovulation. I think the main reason they tell you to be cautious during pregnancy is that your skin can become more sensitive and so you are more likely to have a reaction. I think they recommend the best thing to do is have foils so that the dye doesn't come into contact with your scalp.

Sexymouse - sounds lovely. We can all dream! Hope you DTD later.
Ems - I think (I know I should know), it's to test for chlyamidia (?) as part of the standard initial tests done by the GP along with day 1 & day 21 bloods.
I didn't ask the GP as to when it should be done, she just told me to book in.0
