How are you? Your scan pic looks fab:T
I'm good thanks, 22+2 now! Had a few problems at the 20 week scan, baby has an echogenic bowel which could be nothing but is also a soft marker for infection, cystic fibrosis and chromosomal defects such as downs. We had bloods taken for infection which are clear and are still waiting for results on the cf bloods. We decided not to have an amnio to check for chromosomal problems as our downs risk is 1:3300 (was 1:10000 before this showed up) and the risk of mc from having the amnio is 1:100 so definately not an option, and it would make no difference what so ever to us anyway if he/she had any problems. We love our little angel what ever0 -
Oh god. I'm so sorry, but I've no-one else to talk to. Had such a rotten few days. Oh's cousin is pregnant. Two of my ex colleagues are pregnant, and my sister came over tonight and told me she is pregnant. I don't think I can hold it together. all in few days.
Oh god.
Trying so hard to.keep it together.
So sorry. Oh please help. Sorry, think I've reached final straw. Feel like mind is going to explode.0 -
Massive hugs Derby - it's only natural to feel this way - the best thing to do is to have a good cry about it all - it helped me.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

Fxd everything is OK Laura. It sounds like it is more likely than not that all will be fine, but I am sure you will be amazing parents whatever comes.
We didn't do any invasive antenatal testing for any of our three other than the normal anomoly scans. DD has some severe disabilities but they wouldn't have shown up on amnios or blood tests anyway. She's much more severely affected than a child with Downs though, and she is completely the light of our lives, and all our friends too. I could not imagine life without her even though it is very different from life with the other two. DS2 was failure to thrive as a baby and for a time the doctors thought he had cystic fibrosis. We had to do a sweat test when he was about 6 weeks old which fortunately came back negative. He was quite poorly for the first year of his life and really struggled to put on weight and keep food and milk down (he was born on the 85th centile and dropped to the 2nd after 10 days and stayed there for about 6 months . He's now on the 50th for weight which we are happy with) That was a majorly stressful time waiting for the results to come back for him, but when we looked into it the treatments and prognosis for cystic fibrosis is a lot better than it used to be. Most of the developments have happened in the last few years so if you are reading around this (maybe best not to until you know anyway) make sure that you only read stuff which is very very recent.0 -
I had my private appointment this morning and it was absolutely awful. I pretty much cried throughout it and then cried all the way back home. I'm also in pain as my womb got biopsied - ouch! Such a cr*p day :-(
((HUGS))
As an aside - I had found a lump in my breast. Found out last week it is not cancer. But had to spend time in a breast clinic with people who had obviously been given bad news at some point. Not every likes a 'other people have it worse' and to be honest I respect that everyone's pain is very, very real to them regardless of how we feel about the situation. But it gave me food for thought. I don't know why I've shared that. But I *think* it may be poignant to us all.

This is so true, I remember clearly when I found a lump and sitting with all these people at the breast clinic. I was so grateful it wasn't harmful but felt horrible knowing that others had bad news.

I recently joined your mad crazy chit chat a while back but haven't really posted much...(at all in fact!!!) and just thought i would sneak amongst the many and quietly lurk.
I am currently off work for having a MAMMOTH cyst removed from my fallopian tube, thankfully they saved it (tube...not cyst,....that would be wrong!) and have been ttc for about 2-3 years,
I haven't been trying properly though as i don't fully understand it all in depth, but i have (sort of) been diagnosed with PCOS so i think next year is the year to really read up on how to ttc properly!! (if that makes sense!!)
Hope everyone is well!
