I am a lurker to this thread

    I am de-lurking myself

    Hi :p

    Hi DJSatan,

It's always nice to meet new people (although not in the sense that if you have come here you are probably suffering in some way!).

Anyway, you are most welcome. I hope you find help and support here. I know I couldn't live without this thread some days.

    Hiya girlie HUG 4 U 2 xx,

    Sertraline

I was on that for a while, Sertraline Hydrochloride I think it was. Side effects weren't too bad, but it wasn't strong enough for me.

My sister was on it tho and it really helped her.

Anyway, give them a good chance to work. It is amazing when you find the right med just how much it can help you. I too hate the thought of being reliant on these drugs for the rest of my life. But then if the alternative is to go back 'down there' then I'd much rather take the drugs and have a reasonably stable mood.

Let us know how you get on on them.

Im trying to say im feeling really low. Im starting to wonder if i will ever feel like 'me' again. Feel im slowly slipping away 8.gif, each day passes by, always the same, no one to see, havent seen my friends for ages, spoke to them, but it different seeing them. There is just something missing in rosie at the moment, just need to find it again:o

Im in sooo much agony with my foot 6.gif, i have ran out of pain killers, and running outta anti inflammetries. i do have an appointment at the hospital tomorrow, to do with my foot, but im not quite sure what to say, cant just go in there and say its sore

    xxxxxx

    Hi Rosie,

You are really going through it. But remember it will get better. As for running out of painkillers, I did that about 4 days after I got out of hospital, I tried phoning my local GP surgery and they just kept fobbing me off. Anyway, My Mum ended up going down there and refusing to leave until they sorted me out with some!! (Bless her).

Yes you can go in the hospital and say your foot is sore. Is it still in plaster cast? Are they changing the cast? I had my initial cast on for about 2 weeks, then they changed it for a 'walking cast' for 6 weeks.

Anyway, just wanted to say I can totally empathise with you for your situation and let you know that it will improve, but it takes time.

I am over 3 months post op now and still walking with a limp and can't walk too far / fast, have trouble with stairs / slopes etc, but it does get better and week on week I can do a little more.

Sending you all my thoughts n hugs.

Please guys, this thread is a haven from the !!!!!! that goes on elsewhere. Lets not ruin it. (That goes for EVERYONE, not directed at any individual).

I love this board and would hate if it became a place we couldn't run to when we are having a bad time.

Love N Hugs to you all.

(where's Tiff when we need her hey!!)

    Hi flis!:hello:
    You called, hun? :D
Wassup? Who is it it? What? Where? When? Why? panic.gifpanic.gifpanic.gif
    :D;)
Hope you're well angel? I'm glad the physio is going so well hun.:T It's a hard painful recovery flissy but if you keep up the exercises, you'll be back on your feet in no time - no pun intended!:D  Seriously, you've done really well with your recovery and your diet too hun!:T

    Tiff thoughts.....(serves you right! :D).....

Sorry it's taking me so long to get back to you all.

Well, we all have our pet hates don't we? Bad customer service should be brought to attention. We all come for a moan if we've had a bad day and usually we end up being able to put things in perspective.;)

But as with everything, there's a way of saying things isn't there? If we don't do this, that makes us as guilty as the people we had the problem with. ;) I don't think anyone can resolve such issues as we all have our own views and sometimes the person doesn't want opinions and advice, they just need to let it out. But there's still that responsibility that comes along with the right to free speech.

Imho, as I've said before, this thread is for our time and not necessarily right to bring things from other threads home here, if only because we can't really do anything about it. We're a sensitive bunch and over-sensitive sometimes too. ;)

I hope you'll believe me when I say that I'm not taking sides guys.

And flis, I think you were trying to be supportive hun but sometimes people get so upset, they can't accept the support or see it as support. You were very nice and polite.

And cc, I don't think anyone wants you to go anywhere hun. ;) Sometimes you bait the hook with too much anger and people jump for it. You had the right to be upset over what happened hun. :o
But looking back, maybe a different wording may have helped in your replies to some of the other posters.
Sometimes, we have to pick our battles wisely angel. Was a tearoom problem worth all the hassle you got? I know you've got a lot on your plate hun and you're stressed out.

And ethel, I think you had a valid point too. You were giving your honest opinion which you have the right to do when someone puts something in the public arena. I don't think you were being offensive at all.

And qb, I don't think ethel had put her words in bold type  and I'm glad you have tried to put the past behind you.

So peeples, do you see how one unfortunate incident has spiralled out into a storm in a teacup? (sorry - couldn't resist guys!:D  ) Yes have a vent, a debate even, but be conscious of the manner in which you state your case. You may well have a valid point on an issue guys, but all is lost when we're rude or angry.

I'm sure we've all moved on now - heaven knows we've got bigger fish to fry than to turn on each other.:o Don't get upset over anything I've said please - just Tiffy thoughts and not a dig at anyone at all.;) HUge Tiff hugs to all!hug.gif

Hi all. Back from the psychiatrist.

45mins of questions but he was very nice. Then the consultant knocked and I was left on my own for a few minutes. Both of them came back in and more questions were asked.

I have another appointment on 15 May and I have to bring a friend with me who will have to talk about what they see when my mood fluctuates. The Consultant talked about medication and mentioned lithium. Whenever someone says that I become worried.

    Hi cif!:hello:
    How are you hun?
Good news about the drs angel. Well done you for opening up to them!:T

Your appointment is not too far away cif, so what I'd say is try not to worry about anything until it's happened. Easier said than done I know. :o
Even then angel, if you're worried about something, please tell your drs - they may be able to put your mind at rest. I'm sure they'll give you all the answers and options you need hun.;)
And what's really important to remember is that they won't give you meds you don't need angel. They'll start with the smalller options and work their way up.;) But most of all hun, isn't the important point that you get better whatever it takes angel? Try not to fret hun ok?
    Thinking of you cif.

    Hi pc!:hello:
First of all angel, I must say that the board has been very quiet recently so with the good weather and their own health problems, maybe people weren't around as much. There is no question of anyone deliberately ignoring your post hun. The amazing people on here help everyone they can hun.;) :T Even when we don't know the answers, we always give support.
    Hi
I am feeling very down today. We have quite a catalogue recently - the car going wrong again, the dishwasher breaking down and needing mending. MFI messing up our suite order again, and both our breeding cats that we thought were pregnant aren't. I sometimes find it hard to identify depression as opposed to just having a few bad days. I suppose I could use the £100 in the garden test for flu. I really am feeling why is it that everything always seems to go wrong for me?
You're right there angel - everything also seems to happen at once.:o I'm sorry you're feeling so low hun - the car, washing machine and suite problems are hard. I'm afraid Tiff cats are a law unto themselves and hopefully they'll be at it like rabbits the minute your back's turned. ;)

When hard things come along (usually in 3's:rolleyes: ), it's bound to feel this low angel. It is hard to differentiate between just feeling low (which is bad enough!) and being depressed. Your gp would be the best person to answer that hun.;) Give them a visit and talk it through - at least that way, you'll know.;)

I do hope things have gotten better for you over the weekend hun and I am thinking of you.hug.gif

:hello: Gillette. You will probably find that the side-effects wear off after a couple of weeks and then you will hopefully start to feel the benefits. If you're still experiencing side-effects in a few weeks then definately go back to your GP.

Welcome to the depression thread DjSatansfury.

Wow flis you were up very early. I hope you won't be too tired while at work this afternoon. It's really good to hear that you are returning to work :j good for you hun. I really hope your first day back goes well.

I made bold the part to highlight which part of the post i was talkng about, never suggested ethel wrote it in bold, just that ethel wrote it.Its something i could have written myself but would'nt because its dis-respectful,and still is out of order imo, seems to me that theres only one keeping this bad feeling going, and its not me.I stick by my post i wrote with the quoted bold text, all of it.Hugs to everyone xx

Thanks RBK, am a bit worried about being tired at work this afternoon, but hopefully it will help me sleep better tonight. Also it's only 2.5 hours, so I'm sure I'll manage.

It's funny, knowing I am going to work this afternoon is making me get on with more stuff around the house. Have done 2 loads of washing already this morning and am about to do washing up and prepare tonight's dinner. (I know I'll be too tired to cook when I get in and we can't afford a takeaway).

Will let you all know how I get on.
