Sweetcorn fritters? (stir it into a good thick batter and shallow fry dollops of it)

This may sound a little squalid, but I'll use the socks that are in the dirty clothes basket to do the dusting (but don't tell my OH)...

I get through a couple of teatowels a day (I just throw them in the washer to be put through with with the next load) but I always whizz round the worktops, sink and taps first!

The same goes with the face flannels/towels in the bathroom too... (the sink, taps, window sills, mirror etc, NOT the loo!!)

... the thing that drives me NUTS is the yoghurts. I buy them because the kids want them and then they end up going off. I have 4 left in the fridge at the moment and will try and eat them over the next few days and then I am not buying any more!

....... How about whizzing them up in a blender with a banana/soft fruits/cheap tin of peaches (including the tinned juice), etc, into a lush smoothie????

Would they eat eggs in a cup mashed up with butter? That was (and still is) one of my faves as a kid

    Hello all,
Just found this thread following an answer to quintwins. Didn't know this place existed.
I love using up leftovers. Very often I enjoy the soup, sauce, lasagne or pasta bake more than the original meal made with the bird or joint.
I shall add this thread to my favourites,
    Thanks a bunch, Silver

A great meal with left over pork is to cut what meat you have into cubes. Fry up some onions in a saucepan and then add the meat. stir together and cook for a couple of minutes. I then add some mushroom soup, heat through and then add a tablespoon of cornflour mixed with a little water to thicken up the mixture slightly. Any cooked left over veggies can be added also, carrots, peas etc. This makes a lovely casserole and can be served with potatoes or rice. Sometimes I transfer the mixture to a caserole dish, make up some dumplings and finish off in the oven until the dumplings are cooked. A great way to use leftover roast pork and veggies.

    Afternoon all,
Quintwins I make a very similar recipe to Gillst but I use a condensed mushroom soup mixed with lo gravy and so do not need to use the cornflour mixture.
This evening DH and I are going to have a lamb casserole from the freezer that was made with lo roast leg of lamb. The lamb was cubed off the bone. I then boiled up the bone which gave a lovely stock and additional meat that then just fell off the bone. The lo veg from the roast together with this mixture was a lovely.
I was able to freeze 2 double portions as is and make enough Rogan Josh to freeze another 2 double portions.
Today's dinner is one of the original double portions and we will have it with some lo frozen veg.
    Happy Friday, Silver

Had lots of hm leftovers in fridge:
1 chinese take-away tub of rogan josh
    Same of saag aloo
same of black-eyed beans & mushrooms from the hm Indian meal on Monday
and 2 meatbals and some tomato sauce from yesterday.
Put them all together with 1 and 3/4 pints water and a beef stock cube and simmered it up. Made a great lunchtime soup for 5 of us with hm bread. All gone, no leftovers - pot washed up :)
