On Sunday I made a meatloaf which turned out far too garlicy because the clove I used was rather large.
Rather than waste the rest of it, I broke it all up and popped it in a bowl and added a carton of passatta and left it overnight, then made it into a bolognese last night.
The passatta worked to dilute the garlic taste. Result!0 -

The oats could be put in yoghurt or in a bread recipe.0

I am so glad I have stumbled upon this thread, I am ashamed by how much food I throw away or is wasted but I am feeling very inspired by reading all your tips, I think my main problem is that I'm always dieting & I find it hard to use up leftovers in a healthy way
Anyway off to catch up on the other 100 or so pages

DD and I made chicken and steak fajitas for the ravening hordes.
I think I must have been a tad heavy handed with the chilli for yesterday's chicken as there were lots of comments - but DSIL and the DGSs all loved it and DGS3 said they were the best fajitas ever.
Anyhoo, came out into the kitchen just too late to stop DSIL throwing away the onion and green pepper mix:eek:
He was only trying to be helpful, but told him that I would normally put them in the fridge and add them to "leftover soup". He will check next time now he knows. :jOutside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

Rescued a rather sorry looking pear from the bottom of the fridge and turned it into the base for a crumble.
