Good thread! Trust I can play too?
Today I threw away the top and tail of a tomato I had sliced into a sandwich for tomorrow, and the skin of a potato. I hate waste, really I do.0 -
I would love to join in but the only foood i throw away is the top and bottom crusts on a sliced loaf, these go to the birds who are trying to keep their energy up to feed their young. Leftover new potatoes which I would have binned in the past are now in freezer waiting to be fried as are bits of curry, spag bol, bits of frozen apples which will all be eaten at some time. This site has saved me money and of course its a good thing in general. Best of luck. There is always something you can do with things lurking in back of fridge.0

Fantastic, I've started a list of everyone joining in, CupOfChai of course you're welcomecharlies-aunt wrote: »Any old stale crusts go down the yard for a treat for the horses or finely diced for the birds, the cat and dog wipe up any fatty meat offcuts or elderly bits of cheese.
Er you know that's technically rule breaking don't ya, under rule number one!
Well I suppose rules are made to be bent and all that, if ya feed it to the animals and it could have been eaten by people you still gotta log it though, k? Coz otherwise with the walking trash-compactor that is my dog I'd never waste anything ever again! Ok that's a bit of an exadgeration- there are things that come out of my kitchen which even ole 4-legs shouldn't be offered!:rotfl:

Great thread, can I join in too. I`m hoping I won`t throw out much this week, being half term there`s never anything left in the fridge by the end of the week to waste.

I'll have a go. However I am hopeless at this and I might well drag the side down! I will try though and I have no pets to sneak the food to!0

Hi, May I sign up for this challange please? Throwing stuff away is something I am really, really bad at! I am trying to improve though for example today I made a brocoli and cauli soup and used all the bits including leaves and stalks!
Good Luck everyone with the challenge.

Count me in - though I am fairly good at not wasting anything. At the moment I am roasting off some peppers and cherry toms that were starting to look ropey and I am not really around over the next week so needed to do something with them. I also have a batch of soup and two small pasties before I go away...Man plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0
