hey, Thanks for helping me with this .... do i need the USB cable still in while the ethernet is connected from the PC to the modem? Because that wont work at the momentNice to save.0

No I would try to set it up just using the Ethernet cable. Until your LAN port is working correctly, you won't be able to configure your router. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

O, is that a problem with the computer then? How would we solve it?Nice to save.0

Not necessarily a problem, it may just need configuring as I said above. Have you looked at the network cards TCP/IP settings? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

I took a look, however there is two options the "local area connection" which has a "network cable unplugged" or "local area connection 2" which is "connected"
Both obtain the DNS and IP address automatically?Nice to save.0 -
control panel.network connections, double click on local area connection then click on the properties tab make sure that internet protocol is ticked, highlight it and select properties and make sure obtain an ip address autimatically is ticked
I have nothing better to do!!!!
