Had my payslip today and I'll be paid my bonus, backpay and normal pay!:j:j If only every pay slip could look like that!
It means that as of tomorrow morning I'll have paid of the decorating costs put on the CC in anticipation of the bonus, repaid my £100 OD racked up in the summer during the spilt from OH, put £2000 back into the savings account (not to be touched), put £100 into the living room redecoration fund and put aside £100 for a treat - all on top of my normal salary which will just go into the normal current account!!!!:j:T
I think the treat will be a few new clothes - I am finally having a social life again now I'm a "single lady" and have started going out with friends and colleagues and need a few new tops for the autumn's social events!
Finally life is good again:beer:
The pressure is off!
Social things coming up include the posh back tie do on Saturday, a visit home to Wales during half term (only 1 week left in school now), a party on the 29th and a night out with colleagues (curry and boozing) on the 4th Nov. That's on top of the usual things with friends and the dog walking club - its all happening - from doing virtually nothing with exOH and feeling unhappy to having paid off all debts again, having a bit of dosh in the bank, having a payrise and making some new friends in the space of a few months. Who'd have thought!
All I have to do is sort out the divorce now and I'm sorted! That looks like its going to be amicable too so will hopefully be as stress free as something like that can be.:)
Need to do a few things tonight like finishing the shopping list (a big shop) for the weekend, a bit of marking, making up the spare bed and having a nice bath and general spruce up.
Right its tea time!0 -
Hi WW - its lovely to read about your happy news and all that lovely dosh. You sound like you are using it wisely - balanced with some treats for you. Glad you are getting out and socialising more - that's also important!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks SH - I really do feel like a different person these days!
All the money arrived safely in the bank and has been moved around to its new homes! No CC, no OD, money in the bank at last - truly debt free!
Have to take the dog for his vaccination later and do the supermarket shop if I can bothered (can always do it tomorrow if needs be).
Getting excited about the Welsh rugby tomorrow - fingers crossed everyone! At least its on at 9am instead of 6am:eek: like the others have been. Way too early for the weekend.0 -

Ooohh! I never thought of that!
Been to the vets and it cost £26, so less than the £40 I'd budgeted:j
Also went to T*sco and did the big shop and spent £49.50. I have restocked the cupboard with pasta, tins, jars and a few other bits and got plenty for the freezer for a couple of weeks and the fridge is now full of nice fresh stuff. Also had to get lots of toiletries and household stuff - it all runs out at the same time:mad:
The total grocery spend so far is £103 for October with one more shop to go - I try to spend £30 a week and so I'm £13 over budget but hopefully that will even out with next week's food shop when I won't need much as its half term and I'll be away for a few days and able to do a bit of batch cooking.
Worn out now though its been a long week and I only sat down about 30 mins ago so a long day too. At least its the weekend:j0 -
Hi WW
Good that the vet's bill was less than expected. You are still doing well grocery wise... I've baked a cake the last couple of weekends so that we can still have some treat food despite buying less.... Wondering about making flapjacks some time soon.... I'm cooking more meals from scratch again. As a family of 4 I've also been doing better doing my shopping online... as I can check what's in my cupboard, fridge and freezer and take stuff back out... I also get the odd free delivery - and keep doing Mr As price guarantee and downshift on mys%permarket which helps...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Morning/afternoon! - SH - Resisted the dog anorak - tried them on him but they didn't have the right size - he looked cute though and didn't seem to mind wearing it.
I went to the posh do last night in a posh frock and shoes and had an ok time but nothing special - speeches went on forever and food was average (always is when you're a veggie:().
It was like a cross between a freemasons meeting and a wedding - very strange - not my scene really. I also bought a bottle of wine for me and my friend at £18 (cheapest one!) and had only 1 glass! It got mysteriously emptied when we went to the loo...... The cheek of it!
And I had to buy a raffle ticket at £10 each!
So I managed to spend £40 by the time the taxi and bits and pieces were paid for - not worth it!
Anyway, at least there was no hangover! Tired today though. Also had to pay £25 for the kennels for the dog and petrol to get there - bit of an expensive night out:mad:
Anyway, nothing really planned for today apart from school work and dog walking and making some nice tea (using stuff that's in the fridge and cupboard).
Also planning to not spend anything after yesterday's entravaganza.0
